So I was a little concerned based on some reviews. But the price was great for a hotel that was near downtown and had parking for $16 a night in a garage around the corner, with in and out privileges. The outside isn't much to look at but the inside is better. It's not a luxury hotel but great for the price. It was very cold when we visited but we were still able to walk to some of the underground shopping areas, which was wonderful. There are several eateries as well as Starbucks, Tim Horton's ... I wanted to love this hotel based on other reviews but alas could not.... More student dorm feel than hotel, and very dated. Clean and centrally located but you could hear neighbours in next room through the walls, and the one ply brown toilet paper just put me over the edge... Inexpensive, but not anywhere near what other reviewers have written.... So beware when reading, and take with a bit of open minded common sense... I went in with very high expectations and was disappointed...

We had a truly brilliant time at the Hotel St. Denis !! Close to all the restaurants and pubs on St Denis Street and a short 10min walk to Old Montreal. But the truly amazing part of this trip was the interaction with the hotel staff and ownership of this hotel. They were so professional and helpful that I was simply amazed. I've travelled the world and stayed in many different hotels, but my positive experience here at the Hotel St Denis will stand out. Francois was my first point of contact an... Read more

A huge jacuzzi, large confy bed, near Berri-UQAM Subway Station and Orleans Express Bus Station. I will definetly come back. The hotel itself dates a bit, but the jacuzzi makes the room ok :) I used it twice during my 1-day stay. Great value.

Hotel St Denis is my go-to hotel when in Montreal--for the last 8 years. I've never had less than a great experience: always very clean; front desk staff always congenial, knowledgeable, and professional. The location is very convenient to metro, bus station/car rental, good eateries and sites. Not a chain--a plus in my book. Reliably perfect for my modest needs (clean, comfortable bed; bathtub, wifi, quiet, parking, competent and helpful front desk).

This hotel is conveniently located at the corner of St-Denis and St-Catherine streets. The room (2 very comfy queen beds) was really large and had a desk, mini-fridge and a loveseat. The room had this fabulous antique feel of montreal's older appartments built in the first half of the 20th century. The room was super clean and the staff very helpful. There was a parking garage located just around the corner. I felt the price was very low for the kind of room and location I got. Highly recommen... Read more

The hotel was basic (but didn't lack anything), clean, and very well located (in the Quartier des Spectacles, not far from the Old-Montreal and Old-Port). Ths staff was helpful. Good price for what you get.

I was stuck and couldn't find a hotel, the manager went over the top to find me a room and accomodate me. The place is comfortable and clean and well located but there is no breakfast. However, a good breakfast can be found right down the corner. I rate this hotel tops for friendliness. One low point: a LOT of noise outside my room in the early morning.

Stayed here in September 2016. Front staff was excellent. Very nice people. The building is old but well maintained. Room was small but was travelling solo this time so the size was not an issue. It really felt like I had stepped back into time. The architecture and design had that feel. Narrow hallways. Big heavy doors. Crown molding around the ceiling. Old door knobs on the doors. Tiny little elevator. It was great! If I recall the television had great reception unlike other hotels I tend to... Read more
