I've had the chance to stay at Le Germain several times over the last 15 years. The hotel has not lost its luster since its inception and continues to be charming, discrete, boutique. Rooms are small but stylish and smartly designed. The location is fantastic of course. Perhaps it was not a busy weekend but the price was very affordable compared to other Montreal hotels of this category.

I recently travelled to Montreal from Vancouver with my husband... He frequently travels to Montreal for business, and loves the experience so much that he wanted to share it with me! He treated me to a stay at Le Germain, and it was wonderful! The hotel is brilliantly located, very close to St Catherine St. for shopping, many many wonderful restaurants for fantastic dining, and a Bixi Bike stand if you're adventurous, and would like to see Montreal on two wheels..... I stayed one night at this hotel, and got a room on the top floor. Unfortunately the view wasn't that good due to a neighboring building, but it didn't matter since the room itself was so nice! Staff was friendly, polite and service minded! Bed was so comfortable, linens too! In the bathroom they have Molton Brown products and I love the scent! Towels were great! By far one of the most hospitable, warm and friendly hotels around. Staff are all genuine, gracious and very helpful. Very kind service. I travel to Montréal every year for business and have had the chance to stay at Hotel Le Germain twice. Both times it was very good, but this past year was outstanding. Very nice property with an excellent staff. If you want excellent service, from the time you arrive till the time you leave, you can't go wrong with Hotel Le Germain. I have stayed at several of the top boutique hotels in Montreal and I would rank this property as high, if not higher than other well known properties. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and modern. Nice nightly turn down service is an added plus.

I found the rooms to be a bit dated and the decoration odd. It may have looked good when it opened, but it looks a little run down now. I also had to switch rooms due to the room not being properly cleaned - there was a stain in the bathtub and an overall dirty feel to the room (previous occupants' reading material left on night stand, dust visible on carpet). The room I was in faced the street and in the morning I was awoken by garbage trucks. The lights from the surrounding office buildi... Read more

While waiting for the doctor we talked about Montreal restaurants and events and his insights were incredible. A truly gr... Read more

Have stayed at this hotel for 10 years and it always feels like home, even had an upgrade this time to a 2 level suite, just wish I had more time to sue the room, merci Le Germain! I will be back again soon!

I booked a 4-day family trip to Montreal, and hands down...our stay at Hotel Le Germain was our best hotel stay...EVER. This boutique Hotel exceeded our expectations from the moment we pulled up curbside. We were greeted by pleasant staff, who helped unload our bags and valet-parked our vehicle. We were escorted to our Room after a seamless Check-In at the Front Desk, and given a tour of our Suite (the room was large enough to warrant a Tour!!!). Well-appointed and meticulously-clean...with ... Read more

We spent a week in Quebec and decided Montreal would be the perfect place to end our trip. Hotel Le Germain didn't disappoint. It's located in a great area of Montreal within walking distance to everything. Our room was perfect and the staff are super nice. We speak very little English and everyone made us feel welcome. I also left something in our room safe and the great people at Hotel Le Germain didn't bat an eye. They totally saved my bacon and promptly sent my items home. If you want... Read more

Highly rate this hotel. The rooms are very comfortable with an amazing layout and shower. Great in room amenities too. The location is great, just off St. Catherines street with easy access to shopping, the Bell Centre, with many great restaurants in the area. The breakfast is included and it is very good. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. The in-house restaurant looks amazing but we never had time to try it out.

We recently stayed for a girls trip to Montreal to see Adele. Hotel Le Germain is an excellent hotel in Montreal. I have stayed at other Le Germain properties and they are all wonderful. The hotel is in an excellent location. The rooms are comfortable and the amenities are great. I especially love the bedding and pillows. The breakfast is so much more than a standard continental. The friendly and welcoming staff make the hotel. I would highly recommend staying at Le Germain.

I was in Montreal for a couple nights and stayed at Hotel Le Germain. My room was on the top - 16th - floor. The property and room were immaculate and the room had a nice mix of industrial chic (cement ceilings for a loft feel) and warm wood tones. The room was equipped with a safe, iron, hangers, an umbrella, and all the amenities one could want. The staff was unfailingly polite and helpful. This hotel exceeded all expectations. I had read the reviews but not until you stay at Le Germain do you understand the genuine, sincere, warming staff. The doormen were always available to open a door or help with luggage. We arrived in the pouring rain and I was provided an umbrella and didn't have to grab any of my luggage. The complimentary Nespresso and David's Tea was perfect after a chilly day touring. The bedding was extremely comfortable, bathroom/shower were great, I didn't want to lea... Read more

The staff is extremely service oriented, friendly, and knowledgable. The location is right in the middle of the Montreal action. There is a very good selection of restaurants nearby. The shopping street Sainte-Catherine, which is great for walking, as is Montreal in general, is around the corner. The Humble Lion is a great cafe (coffee in class with Myriad, i.e., world class, but perhaps better muffins etc) that can be found around "the other corner". This takes me to the negative point in this ... Read more

They also provided sparkling water and flat water free of charge. The room was just enough space and cleaning service was great. The hotel is located in the perfect spot for walking to downtown shopping, restaurants or to old Montreal. Basically you are a 30 min or less walk to anywhere you might want to go. The hotel eve... It was my first stay at this hotel and the superb service started even before i stepped out of the taxi. The staff were great and the room was modern, sheik, clean and comfortable. I walked into a cool well scented room (smell is very important to me) with quiet classical music playing. It is centrally located as well. I travel to Montreal often for work and this will be my go to hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The pros: - the location is good and close the amenities - the rooms are always nice with a great bed, great linens and a good amount of space - the staff is always helpful and give you a warm welcome - for those that eat breakfast; it is on the house in their restaurant - the rooms are quiet, and there isn't a lot of noise from the street either - it is right around the corner... I stayed at Le Germain at the start of April, 2016 for one night. Check-in was quick and painless, as it should be. The room itself featured quite comfortable bed, with a shower (and bathroom) that was adjacent to it, separated by a glass wall. Blinds were present, if some degree of privacy was needed. This gave it a very modern look, I thought. An radio-alarm clock was available at bedside, if needed, and classical music was playing when I first entered my room. I assumed that was intentional,... This group tends to have quirky, boutique style hotels in old buildings, retaining some of the rusticity of the original building while having very modern interiors. We stayed both here and in the sister property in Quebec and much preferred this one. It is up at the Mont Royal end of Mansfield so whilst that means a fair old walk down to the old town, basilica, etc it is very handy for walking up the "mountain" and for access to the station if you are catching a train, as we did. Le Germain is a fine hotel. Rooms good, breakfast excellent, staff extremely competent and friendly. However, there are two problems. The first is that the room has no drawers into which to put your clothes. There was a closet, a few shelves, and that was that. We've been in many, many hotels, but this defect was unique to Le Germain. The second defect was not just annoying, but also dangerous--no grab bar in the bathtub/shower.
