Nothing special about this place. Parking is underground and costs $27 per day regardless of the room you have. We needed a crib and it was brought to us quickly and at no extra charge. It's an average hotel for an average price and nothing more. Right in China Town if you are looking for that area.

The hotel's exterior looks really tired-- needs a good power washing to start with. However, the interior and rooms have are all really remodeled. Pool and hot tub were nice and really warm. It is a little strange that you enter the hotel on the first floor but check in on the second floor. So, we were there four days and only saw a staff member upon checkin. Wifi much faster then embassy suites up the road. No free breakfast. Comfy bedding and quiet. Would definitely return.

Despite the drab exterior and confusing entryway, this is a charming hotel. The lobby with its koi pond and marble walkway is a calm place to sit and rest a minute. Staff was helpful and friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. Hotel is very convenient to Metro and the Palais des Congres, and the Quartier Chinois has great lunch and dinner options. Only one thing marred my stay, and that was the large gap between the door and the floor, which let in light and noise from the hallway.... Read more

The hotel is in a great location. It??s only a ten minute walk from Old Montreal and the stunning Notre-Dame Basilica. The room was clean, modern looking and well sized. The bathroom is spacious and had a nice shower. We stayed on the ninth floor and had a balcony with a lovely view of the city. We stayed 7 nights and really enjoyed our stay in the hotel and in Montreal. We felt that there was room for improvement with the breakfast. The buffet food was a little disappointing. Not being familiar with the city it was hard to tell what the best location was to stay. I'm glad we decided on the Holiday Inn. This is located in the Old Port section of the city a few streets from the water. It is also one block from Notre Dame Basilica. The subway is across the street and that connects you to all of the underground city. There are many nice places to eat about 2-3 blocks away. I stayed for two nights in this hotel. Excellent location across the street from the Metro station, at walking distance from Old Montreal and one Metro stop from Underground City. The only flaw, they should have like small place to sell some snacks or a least some coin machines. We arrive late a night a most place to eat around 10 pm.

The hotel has the feel of having been around for awhile. The décor is bit old and, because it is in the Chinatown area, with a Chinese theme. But don't let its appearance put you off. The service is excellent, the room was neat and clean, and the breakfast was yummy. I was even able to cooked my own waffle with maple syrup!

This hotel is ideally placed for China Town, old Montreal and the underground, which is almost directly opposite the front entrance. On a good day it is 20-25 mins from the airport but that can easily double due to traffic and ongoing roadworks. Very pleasant staff, well appointed rooms (an in-room safe rather than a safe deposit box in reception would be preferable) and the reception area is highly unusual, but enjoyable. It has been years since I have been here. And much has changed. And not all for the better. First of all. The air conditioning did not work. And it was very warm. Like uncomfortably warm. It was warm in the conference room and in the ballroom. Secondly, the hotel 'lost' most of the reservations for the out of town guests. This put a major damper on the occasion. They were not very helpful in getting alternate accommodations. Nor were they apologetic. The hotel room was fine. The view lef... Read more

This hotel had a very welcoming staff for check-in and check-out. The rooms had recently been redone and were good, the bathroom being the best part. I was offered breakfast with my room and it was absolutely delightful. There were both western and Asian options and I had the best kongee this side of Hong Kong. The buffet is located beside a beautiful and tranquil koi pond and the whole hotel is built and decorated with feng shui principals in mind. This makes it tranquil and restful. To top it all off... This clean, comfortable hotel is situated well, only being a block from Old Montreal. Being outside of Old Montreal would then account for the better pricing. So, for dollar value, I would recommend. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The rooms were newly renovated and clean. On the down side, the AC unit in our room was very dirty and noisy. It perhaps needed some repair. The windows desperately need a cleaning and the bathroom fan didn't suck much moisture out of the bathroom. ... Read more

Visited this property with my family, was not surprised with the ignorant french attitudes upon check in and throughout the hotel since we were in Quebec. However I was surprised that despite being an IHG property they refuse to participate in any promotions or extras offered by IHG, when questioned I was told by staff "we are in Quebec, we don't participate in anything" Disappointed in IHG for this one! Very small cold pool, and expensive parking!

Hotel is well situated to Chinatown, Old Montreal and downtown Montreal. Subway metro stop is also across the street. Rooms are nice however, they can be quite a distance from the elevators. Parking in front of the hotel to load or unload bags is very limited. Best thing to do is park in the attached garage as soon as you arrive since you have to get parking ticket validated at front desk anyways. Wifi in the room worked well.

This hotel is smack dab downtown within walking distance to chinatown, Notre Dame Basilica and the convention center. Plenty to do without ever getting in a moving vehicle. The entrance is a tad odd and not easily entered after hours but once you figure it out you're fine. Check in and check out were fast, simple, and very polite! Changed out our American money both times at a rate better than the area vendors or airport. Room was what I consider upscale and had everything we needed. The bed was... Read more

My daughter was competing at the convention centre and this was our best bet in terms of location and economics. The staff at this hotel are extremely friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are clean and updated. The location is perfect and close to many restaurants.

Beware...even though you already paid for your room, these scumbags will require an additional $50 deposit to cover any damage to to the room PRIOR TO CHECKING IN OR YOU CANT STAY!! They won't give it right back. Right now I'm at 5 days and it still hasn't been put back to my account. I've NEVER had to do this at any other hotel I've stayed with in Montreal before. I hate the customer service of this hotel and IHG.

Excellent location for touring old/downtown/centre-ville Montreal. Very good value: the hotel is clean , Room was clean with updated bathroom. They didn't have money left after all the renovations to change the mattress which felt very old but surprisingly, both of us had very good sleep (3 nights). Underground parking is 28$ CA. The Chinatown location is only an advantage. This is a VERY tiny , Chinatown not dirtier than the a little dirty Montreal.

Stayed here on a recent visit and the clerk at the front desk was truly amazing. He suggested for the group of four to find taking a taxi cheaper than paying for a local city bus. He also upgraded us to a more expensive room due to checking in earlier than planned and rather than sit and wait for our room he treated us to a upgraded room. He was more than helpful and I regret not taking his name. The hotel was very clean, smoke free and pleasing to the eye. The reception area when you walk i... Read more

We visited Montreal as part of a New England & Canada tour. The hotel looks a little drab on the outside, but once inside the hotel is of the good standards one can expect from Holiday Inns. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, the two double beds extremely comfortable and with a good size bathroom. There is an Oriental style restaurant where breakfast can be taken.
