I have traveled all over the world, stayed in many different types of hotels large---small, hostels, you name it! This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. The The management of this Hotel need to go back the hospitality and management school. I arrived at 9:30 PM on a Friday night. I got to the hotel the lady at the front desk told me the hotel was overbooked and I did not have a room. This is unacceptable. They waited until I arrived to tell me this?! Even after I called a ... As an experienced traveller, I tend to discount some negative reviews based what seem like minor complaints.....but I this is an exception. I (and other customers) was in disbelief at how bad the service was at this so- called hotel. It looks like they did a quick renovation, painted rooms in dark colours, threw in some appliances and felt they could call it a 3 star hotel but it takes more than that. They did not have a working computer at the front desk , no one seemed to be in charge and thin... Read more

In my opinion, there are two serious issues with this hotel. The first issue is subjective, and I recognise that other guests may disagree. But to put it simply, the décor of this hotel is appalling and inappropriate. I??ve never had the opportunity to spend some time in a cheap central European brothel, but if I ever do, I expect to look like the Hotel Particulier Drummond. While my aesthetic opinion is subjective (and there are going to be guests who like the retro-nineties-kink-dungeon-st... Read more

What is most frustrating, is that poor infrastructure can be overcome with the initiative of individual workers. In the case of this hotel, the management has chosen staff who are either without a single care in the world about customer experience or who is - and I suspect this is Brian mentioned elsewhere - the only one trying to keep this place afloat. What a mess! Now, I'm not a fan of the decor, but that's subjective. So, fine, it's ugly but someone else might like it. But the quality of th... Read more

Well based on previous reviews maybe this has improved a little...but just a little? A friend and I came out for the Grand Prix weekend and took a leap of faith exiting the cab since the hotel is unmarked from the outside. After a tug on the (party broken but elegant) door handle we entered and actually liked the modern/burlesque-ish feel - it was our vibe that weekend. The young lady at the check in desk was immediately presented with the apparently insurmountable task of locating our room key... Read more

I've been wanting to visit Montreal for a long time so I decided to take a little trip with my friends. I was so surprised when I got to our hotel it was such a cool and modern design such a different vibe from all the hotels out there. We had a very nice room with an extra sofa bed which opens up into a queen size bed so two of my friends slept on it super comfortable. And all the furniture is modern. It looks like a modern European boutique hotel of 2016. I just loved it. Such a cool vibe :)) ... Read more

First and foremost, I believe some of the reviews here were pretty harsh. Some of the given complaints were due to the hotel being brand new. Reading all of the negative reviews prior to our stay gave me and my girlfriend a very hesitant feeling before checking in. However that feeling of unease quickly turned to relief. I stayed here, along with my girlfriend during Canada Day long weekend and we were happy with our stay. The room was comfortable and beautifully designed. Great location, and ju... Read more

I booked this hotel through the American Express website around the time that it had opened back in April. I was quite wary of booking as it was a brand new hotel but I thought I would take a chance. Because I was worried, closer to the date of my booking I called to confirm my reservation and at first they couldn't find it, and then called me back to say they had found it and confirmed my dates for me. I had also asked them about parking and they said they did have a parking lot, but had minima... Read more

Happy we had a groupon because not worth 200$ a night. First glance was nice but the room had a clean bed but all the rest was not touched or cleaned. They seem to have limited resources. Pros: friendly staff that tries hard. Receptionist came and clean washroom as it was not done and was 7 pm. Well located. Coffee machine is excellent. Con: breakfast is frozen stuff No taste and very limited. Rooms dirty no phones I meen you can't even call the hotel the phones don't work employee said they r... Read more

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, well-decorated and well-designed for a small room. It is in a good location in the center of the city. The internet connection is also good. Negatives: the bathroom had long coated glass windows and no curtains, it could be visible from the neaby hotel/building when the lights are on. There is breakfast, but there is no place to eat it. You may have to carry your bagels and coffee upstairs.

Pluses - Great location, bed is comfortable and the room was fairy clean. Internet works. Negatives - You can do way better for the price of this place. The way the have hung the lights and placed the TV and the furniture is just an accident waiting to happen. Its like no one thought about how can anyone that is taller than 5 foot can get around in the room without running into something!. We made light of it, but damn it hurt every time we hit our head and knee trying to go to the bathroom at... Read more

Unfortunately due to what can be only interpreted as a communication error (English to French) we are not able to give an honest opinion about this Boutique hotel. What we can give our opinion on is the service we received from Natalie after the fact. We found her to be very helpful and willing to work with us. She has even offered us a two night stay in one of their upgraded suites with no expiration date so that we can truly explore all her hotel has to offer. Both my husband and I look f... Read more

Before arriving I was extremely skeptical from reading all the reviews but was stuck with the hotel because of a trivago website it was non canceling. Once arriving I wasn't worried anymore. I called ahead of time and reserved a parking spot ( way cheaper that most places I've stayed in big cities ) check in was smooth took a couple seconds and we were directed to our room. The room was a perfect size for two people ... No more. It's a three star hotel so you can't expect staying at a 5 star... Read more

This hotel was awesome, it was clean, and right in the heart of Montreal. We enjoyed our stay, and Salim's great costumer service made our stay that much better. Any questions we had, since it was our first time in Montreal, were answered thoroughly by anyone working at the front desk. We will definitely be back in Montreal, and we will definitely be staying in this hotel!

Without going into details of our stay, I agree with all the comments under poor and terrible. It seems that receptionists are trying their best, to handle their poor hotel management. Tip: Complain in order to get what was promised or agreed on reservation. Here just a few examples of our experience: - Their reservation system seems not to work, promised room was taken by someone else. - morning buffet is messy and lots of basic stuff are missing - every day something else (one day the water,... If you like NOT having hand soap, dish soap to clean your dishes, hole in the ceiling of your washroom, floors not clean, no maid service, no kettle or coffee maker in your room, dirty glassware, dirty stove top, and a lock to your door that is hard to open, and the lock mechanism on the inside falls off! Then this is the place to stay! All around the Motel 66 is better than this! We had to wait for the front desk person to check us in, we were the only one there! Then the night person with h... Here are just a few of the problems experienced during my 2-day (from 8/26/16 to 8/28/16) stay at L??Hotel Particular on Drummond Street, Montreal, QC, Canada. 1. There is no phone in the room. 2. There is no ice bucket in the room. 3. There is no ice maker in the hotel. 4. There is no fridge in the room. 5. Exposed and unfinished electrical outlets in the room. 6. We got this hotel on a groupon that claimed it was regularly $220/night, so we expected a decent hotel. Thank god we didn't pay that! The $110/night we paid still seems way overpriced. This place was not what we expected. I'd put it in the category between boutique hotel and almost upscale private hostel. The kitchenettes were nice, but lacked dish soap, towels, or dish drying racks. The dishes in the cupboard were dirty on arrival and weren't cleaned in the sink by the cleaning staff when we ... Came to this hotel with great expectations to find out that this hotel is lacking on staff and cleanliness there were dust bunnies all over the room and a pungent smell like curry or BO who knows ??? I asked them to clean and didn't get done ,breakfast was coffee and croissants. What a shame this could be a great place since is close to everything .

Stayed at this unique hotel for two days. It is not your traditional hotel chain with hundred rooms and a big lobby. It is a unique, boutique, homey and comfy hotel. It is a newly converted hotel so few gliches here and there are expected but the management are open for crticsm to improve it. Stuff were great, amazing downtown location close to all Montreal night life, bars, restaurants. St. Crescent street a short walking distance.

Arrived late in the evening, only to find that somehow between Groupon and Hotel Particulier, there was some confusion, and my booking was not registered. I therefore had nowhere to stay for the weekend I was there! In fairness to Hotel Particulier, they helped me find an alternative room in a nearby hotel for the 2 nights that I needed. It was the marathon weekend, so I ended up paying double the rate I had originally paid for Hotel Particulier, through Groupon. I eventually got a refund for... Read more

The good thing about this hotel was the location. It is very close to St. Catherine's, Cresent, Sherbrooke etc. Very affordable for the location. Breakfast bar had croissants and coffee which was good for free but I would have rather eaten out which is what I did. There are many problems with this hotel as well. There is no elevator so walking up the stairs with luggage or if a person had disabilities would be impossible! Beds are hard as rocks, extremely uncomfortable. Turn down/ housekeepi... Read more

We travel frequently and often use internet coupon deals. We like trying different hotels and have stayed in small boutique type hotels before. As my title infers, this place was not good. We would never go back there, no matter what the deal. My wife and I stayed there for 1 night in Sept 2016. We used a $99 Groupon and got charged extra to get a "nicer" room on the 3rd floor (the regular price was shown as $220, which would have been a real rip off). The biggest problem we had was the noise. We could literally hear every word the guests in the next room had to say. The walls were paper thin. The room was large enough and had a ... Read more

We stayed two nights in September. My main complaint is the noise. We were in the basement so we could hear everyone walking around upstairs and coming/going throughout the night. The first night I had to go upstairs and ask the guy at the front desk if he could talk quieter (he was on his cell phone) as it sounded like he was in our room. I then shut the door from the upstairs to the basement so that less sound would carry. The second day we were trying to have a nap in the afternoon as we had ... Read more

Hotel recently opened at time of stay. They were having major problems with reservations. They didn't have me listed, thankfully I had my confirmation letter. They did find me a room for the first night. Was attending meetings and came back on my lunch hour as staff indicated they'd have something worked out by then only to be told they wouldn't know until 5 PM. At that time I was told they were planning to move me to another hotel. An hour later I was still standing in the lobby. Apparently sta... Read more

There isn't a whole lot to say about Hotel Particulier, except that for the price (we paid < $90 for a single night) this was a steal. Pros: - Excellent location - Interesting decor - Simple check-in - Kitchen with stove and fridge - Decent bathroom with decent shower head - Comfortable bed - So cheap Cons: - While interesting, the decor is on the cheap side - Can get noisy (our door was banging randomly even though it was closed) - Shampoo + conditioner were awful Overall, was worth the pri...
