Check in was fast and easy, staff was very helpful. Noise from the pool was loud but could not be heard in our room. Room was nice and clean. We had a problem with the TV and internet. Called the front desk and Austin from maintence arrived within minutes. Austin was very helpful. It turned out to be user error on my part..

We had a wonderful stay this weekend at the Medicine Hat Lodge. Service at the front desk was fantastic, our room was beautiful and clean, and the bed was the perfect firmness. The price for our beautiful room was also very reasonable, especially when we factored in free breakfast. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Went for Sunday brunch on the Victoria Day long weekend and they were able to accommodate our last minute reservation for 11 people. The newly renovated restaurant and lounge has a nice, efficient buffet area that is easy to navigate. There are lots of food options including an omelette station and roast beef, breakfast and lunch dishes and tons of seafood. Decent price includes basic beverages too which is nice. Service was polite and efficient.

We stayed here with our 2 kids ages 9 and 17 on the May long weekend. The hotel was close to everything you would need for dining, shopping and entertainment. The rooms lacked enough outlets for charging devices, something that could be fixed by using the lamps that have outlets in the base by their beds. Also having 1 nightstand between the two queen beds and no tables on the other side of the beds left us using our suitcases as tables. Despite these inconveniences we were happy with our stay... Staff failed to tell us the pool was closed for maintenance the first night we stayed, and only found out after we had already went down in our bathing suits. You have to walk through the lobby briefly to get to the pool area, so it was a bit embarrassing to have to go to the front desk to ask about it. The next morning I called the front desk to ask if the pool was open that day, to which she said "YES", it was open. I put on my bikini and towel and went down. The maintenance sign was still up ... This hotel is in a great location in Medicine Hat, they have casino, beautiful steak house, spa, waterslides and pool, there is a shopping mall across the street. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. Upon arrival, the young man (Pratik) who greeted us, made us feel so welcome, that we were glad that we had chosen this hotel rather than the one across the street. He was friendly and informative. His smile just made one feel good. He also checked us out the next morning and again made one feel that it was a great day!

Delighted to get a dog friendly hotel that doesn't put one into a beaten up room. It is unfortunate however that some dog owners don't know the rules and allow their dogs to bark incessantly when they are out or don't clean up after them. Grrrr Hotel breakfast buffet included in price - great for kids and healthy choices. Pool and slide terrific for kid entertainment

Steve one of the managers always looks after us. The staff is great. They accommodate any requests we have. If there is any issues they are dealt with right away. The steakhouse is amazing. We've stayed at this hotel multiple time's over the years but this last stay was brutal. When we first got to our room the WiFi didn't work and the cable TV also didn't work. The beds had shards of glass on the sheets as did the carpet. They did move us to a suite that was just ok. We are at the steakhouse where we have eaten before but this time the food was worse then if you were to stay at a 3 star all inclusive. We will not be staying at this hotel again.

My husband and I go to Medicine Hat once a year to visit friends and play golf. We always stay at the MHL because the location is convenient. The Hotel has always looked a bit tired and drab; very institutional looking with zero charm but the rooms were clean and fairly quiet. Unfortunately during this stay our suite/room overlooked the outside entrance to the non smoking casino. On a Saturday night all the smokers spilled outside. You can imagine the racket. Stayed here for a night in June. Had a king room which was rather large and fit 6 people in sitting area for cocktails very nicely. Every thing in the room was very tired looking. Wall all nicked and dented, door to bathroom was all peeling and rotten away. The bathroom had old tiles with rusted out grout that made you not even want to take a shower in. Service in the Casino was not very good. No ticket cashing machines and long line to cash in ticket. Every one was complaining.

The rooms were old & shabby. We had to move rooms because the aircon in our first room wasn't working. Moving rooms was fine & the staff were great about it, however we felt that our first room was from the 80s & our "upgrade" moved us into the 90s in the new wing of the hotel. I've stayed here as a kid & wouldn't be surprised if the bathrooms were the same back then. Considering this is quite a popular hotel, I was very surprised to see it hasn't been updated in a very long time. Disappointed.

Spent the night on a groupon discount coupon for my daughters 11th birthday. When we arrived had the wrong type of room set up for us. Finally found the room I had paid for on line. I felt maybe they were trying to give us a lower cost room because we had a groupon. But ince I pointed out that this was not the right type of room, they quickly "found" us the correct one ehich was a suite with a swirlpool tub. Thought it was strange the tub was in the bedroom and not in the bathroom. Gave us a fre... Read more

We stayed for one night (Saturday) and the hotel was completed booked and very busy, but you really wouldn't have known it. Our stay was quiet (we had an outside room) and we got a good night's sleep. The room was okay, nothing spectacular about it but it was clean and the beds comfy enough. We asked for a roll out bed to accommodate our teenage daughter and it was ready in the room when we checked in. Check in was easy and so was check out. We enjoyed a full breakfast buffet the next morni... Read more

This older hotel may have been a real jewel back in the day, but now it's a bit run down. The $149.00/night (before taxes and fees) price tag isn't inline with the quality of the hotel. The bathroom tile in room 408 is black and the bathtub is dingy. The ceiling tiles are in terrible shape and it, along with the rest of the room, is very dark. The Lodge has been a fixture in MH for years. The newer part of the hotel has good rooms. The older part is dated, basically clean but very dated. If you want quiet be specific to ask for a room NOT next to pool. The pool is dated, old, but fun for kids. Loud loud loud until quiet time. Rooms are dated and if attached to pool, humid, hot and A/C does little to change that. Morning breakfast buffet (if included) are quite nice. For $200, the old part of hotel not worth it unless you have kids w... Read more

Im a local who needed a "night away". I had mentioned this to the restaraunt supervisor, Tracy, a couple days before. She suggested I stay at the lodge seems in how it has everything a person could ask for. Seems in how I frequent the casino, I decided it was a good choice. Tracy got me in contact with Steve, the front office manager. Steve was very professional & accommodating. He booked me a room with my exact needs in mind. When I checked in, Pratik at the front desk was very welcoming & plea... Read more
