We visited London for a one-night getaway. What a great little spot to be nestled in! We found the Idlewyld Inn to be clean, comfortable, well positioned to downtown London's many shops & restaurants, with service that is top notch! The rooms were clean & well equipped. The breakfast also a hit for us before starting our trek home. We will return!

We were warmly greeted by the most professional and personable man named John. He was there working the night shift every night during our 3 night stay. Not only did he provide us with great conversation, but even had prepared us 2 breakfast boxes to take with us for our early departure (5am) on the morning of our flight back home. We especially enjoyed a personal tour of the main floor the evening we arrived late from our flight into London. Cara was another front desk hostess who truly wen... Read more

The Idlewyld Inn and Spa is located in an updated structure dating back over 100 years. It has been modernized but still retains its rustic and colorful charm. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern. We did not use the Spa or pool but other people apparently come for just those features. Although old, it does have an elevator and that helped my wife who has some walking difficulties. There is a restaurant on site which was absolutely fascinating. They also provide a compl... Brought my fiancee home to meet the family and chose the Idlewyld because I grew up next door and the hotel is perfectly situated in my old neighbourhood. I've done a lot of travelling and stayed in a lot of accommodations and the Idlewyld is by far my all-time favourite. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the service - the staff make you feel at home. The building is of course an attraction on its own, but combined with the great care they take in making guests feel welcomed, this hotel ... Read more

Recently stayed for one night on a week night. Wasn't very busy there--so was lovely and quiet. Room was clean and comfortable, but a little "old" smelling (maybe not seeing enough airing out). Very nicely decorated. We didn't get to see much of the common areas as we came and went fairly quickly in the evening and there was some kind of interview being recorded in the morning in one of those rooms, but the garden out front was a pretty place to take some photographs of our kids. This is a really nice, quaint, B&B-like hotel in London, Ontario. Its decor is classic and classically Canadian. The service was friendly and helpful. I also ate at the restaurant with a group, and it was a fantastic meal. I suppose the only downside is the lack of a fitness centre, however it was nicer to run outside (which wouldn't be possible in the winter). However, if you're looking for a nice spa and hotel for a weekend getaway, this is a great little spot!

Motoring around the UK and Europe you'll often find small family-run Inns that are "full service". The Idlewyld is very reminiscent of this experience, offering, charming rooms that combine modern hotel facilities with olde-world charm and comfort in a beautifully restored 1800s mansion house. If that isn't enough, the kitchen is MIchelin star worthy in both service and cuisine.
