We visited London for a one-night getaway. What a great little spot to be nestled in! We found the Idlewyld Inn to be clean, comfortable, well positioned to downtown London's many shops & restaurants, with service that is top notch! The rooms were clean & well equipped. The breakfast also a hit for us before starting our trek home. We will return!

We were warmly greeted by the most professional and personable man named John. He was there working the night shift every night during our 3 night stay. Not only did he provide us with great conversation, but even had prepared us 2 breakfast boxes to take with us for our early departure (5am) on the morning of our flight back home. We especially enjoyed a personal tour of the main floor the evening we arrived late from our flight into London. Cara was another front desk hostess who truly wen... Read more

The Idlewyld Inn and Spa is located in an updated structure dating back over 100 years. It has been modernized but still retains its rustic and colorful charm. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern. We did not use the Spa or pool but other people apparently come for just those features. Although old, it does have an elevator and that helped my wife who has some walking difficulties. There is a restaurant on site which was absolutely fascinating. They also provide a compl... Brought my fiancee home to meet the family and chose the Idlewyld because I grew up next door and the hotel is perfectly situated in my old neighbourhood. I've done a lot of travelling and stayed in a lot of accommodations and the Idlewyld is by far my all-time favourite. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the service - the staff make you feel at home. The building is of course an attraction on its own, but combined with the great care they take in making guests feel welcomed, this hotel ... Read more

Thank you to all of the staff who helped to make our son's wedding so beautiful! The planning was very well managed by Effie - she was always helpful, pleasant and professional. The staff serving us through the day and evening were very helpful and most accommodating. The accommodations were also very good with comfy beds, beautiful bathrooms finished in marble and glass. We loved this beautifully restored historic inn ... the staff obviously do too as their pride in its unique features wer... Read more

Recently stayed for one night on a week night. Wasn't very busy there--so was lovely and quiet. Room was clean and comfortable, but a little "old" smelling (maybe not seeing enough airing out). Very nicely decorated. We didn't get to see much of the common areas as we came and went fairly quickly in the evening and there was some kind of interview being recorded in the morning in one of those rooms, but the garden out front was a pretty place to take some photographs of our kids. Generally,... Read more

My daughter was graduating from Western on a Monday and we were looking for something a little different from the usual Wellington strip hotels. The Idlewyld was exactly what I had hoped for...they have an amazing patio for dinner and drinks, amazingly friendly staff, very clean rooms, great showers, charming decor, close to but not too close to Wellington to make easy to get around...can't say enough good things about the Inn and their staff! Great rates - highly recommend it for anyone looki... Read more

This is the place to stay when coming to Canada. It's located in a neighborhood that has nice houses with such character. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The building is wonderfully restored with attention to detail. The receptionist, Cara, was just wonderful and made us feel at home. The entire staff was gracious and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here!

We stayed for 2 nights (May 31 & June 01) and were totally enchanted by our accommodations. The room was spacious, comfortable, well appointed, quiet and lovely. The included breakfast was quite nice, staff were so helpful & the evening BBQ on the patio was delicious. The grounds were lovely. We would highly recommend the Idlewyld as THE place to stay while in London. It was charming. Thank you!

This is a really nice, quaint, B&B-like hotel in London, Ontario. Its decor is classic and classically Canadian. The service was friendly and helpful. I also ate at the restaurant with a group, and it was a fantastic meal. I suppose the only downside is the lack of a fitness centre, however it was nicer to run outside (which wouldn't be possible in the winter). However, if you're looking for a nice spa and hotel for a weekend getaway, this is a great little spot!

We were a group of 50 and had a beautiful family style dinner in the garden courtyard, a perfect setting. The Beef Tenderloin with roasted veg was delicious. My wife and I stayed over night after the reception. Room was very clean and well appointed. This was our 5th time here and we make sure to always get a different room since each is unique and an experience unto themselves. Breakfast the next morning finished a wonderful stay. All staff we met were very gracious and generous with their time... Read more

I booked this Inn for a one night reunion for five former university women friends. I admit I booked it because it's sister Inn, The Elmhurst Inn (Ingersoll, ON) was full. I had never been to Idlewyld but had driven by it over the years and always admired the Victorian beauty of this old mansion. We booked two rooms: a regular room on the second floor with two queen beds and a suite referred to as The Library on the main floor. We used the suite for three of our party and the regular room for... Read more

Although my husband and I are residents of London, Ontario , our first experience dining in the restaurant at the Inn was just over two years ago with relatives to celebrate a birthday. The Inn itself has been beautifully restored and very tastefully decorated. The ambience in the turret dining room where we were seated was exceptional. Staff were friendly, extremely professional, and the service we received wss impeccable. Our meals were delicious, and each one of us remarked that we look... Read more
