Right out in The Rockies a very rare and nice find! After some very big drives through amazing scenery, delighted to find a beautiful hotel that has great standards. In luxury, quality and service. Very well appointed rooms and bathrooms. Each room stocked with enough logs for the evening, to put onto the already prepared open fire, which was a real treat. All staff very friendly and helpful. Returned for a second night and stayed in a beautiful log cabin with stream flowing outside front door! ... Read more

The Post Hotel Is So Beautiful And The Location Is Picture Perfect !!!!! And The rooms have the feel of a mountain lodge with nice pine furniture and wood ceilings with beams. And my room was so clean and neat and the bathroom was spotless with all the fixtures brightly shinning !!!!! The staff from housekeeping to dinning room to front desk were so friendly and kind to me. And being alone, that extra attention really made me feel comfortable and at home. I spent two nights at the Post Hotel & Spa. It was a very enjoyable experience. Between seasons, it was quiet and peaceful. Very few guests were in the hotel and the summer staff was in training. I appreciated the quiet and the elegance of the total experience. I ate in the Dining room for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner as well as the pub. All meals were exceptional in quality and service. As noted by others, the wine list is substantial. The room was rustic - and yet luxurious with a beaut... Read more

We spent two nights at the Post Hotel, rented the Whitehorn Cabin (#101), right on the river. The cabin was suitable for two, but some people might find it a bit cramped, but was perfect for us. It was cozy and we enjoyed the in-room fireplace, and being able to go to sleep to the sound of the Bow river rushing by right outside our window. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The hotel has bicycles for guests to use, and will lend the venturous hiker a can of bear repellant. There i... Read more

Super friendly staff here. We stayed in a cabin for our honeymoon. The place is designed like an old world hunting resort that mated with an alpine ski lodge, who in turn birthed a North American spa in the mountains. There are other reviews that mention no hot tub and worn decor. As of May 2016 the decor is nice (newly remodeled in some parts) and the spa was available for use (though I didn't). It very close to town (walking distance for some). There are train tracks close by but it was not a ... Read more

We were staying at the Chateaux lake Louise but decided to try this place as it was number one in lake Louise. Had a drink in the bar before dinner - very good cocktail. Seating in this rooms is difficult though due to the old fashioned furniture and the way it is laid out. Could make more of this space if they updated it a bit. The restaurant itself is very formal, but nice. We had lobster ravioli and tuna tartare- both good. I had the beef stroganoff and my husband had the wagu beef fillet whi... Read more

We stayed here for one night and it was one of the best places we stayed in during our trip to Canada. The staff were terrific and attentive. We had a room overlooking the river and a log fire was made up in the fireplace, which we lit. The breakfast was outstanding and again, one of the best we had eaten. We cannot rate this hotel high enough. Well done Post Hotel, you made our stay at Lake Louise memorable!

We definitely had issues with the Post Hotel. Although its location is very pretty & the hotel being a Relais Châteaux property oozing with charm & character. We did leave feeling disappointed with our short stay. Location - The Lake Louise Ski Resort & town is just five minutes drive from the Hotel. Its approx. 2 hrs drive from Calgary via the Trans Canada Highway. Arrival - All went to plan without any hiccups. Staff attentive & welcoming. Room - We booked the Whitehorn Cabin & it was b... I spent a lot of time looking at options for accommodations for our honeymoon. We chose the Post Inn and booked a small cabin. Though I have read complaints about the cozy nature of the cabins, I rather liked it. We found it to be clean and charming. There is a tea service in the afternoon which I recommend. There are cakes and treats for purchase if you wish but the tea/coffee is complimentary. If the weather is nice, they will bring it to you on the lawn. The staff is extremely helpful-bo... Read more

This is a wonderful hotel. It has rooms and cabins. We stayed in a cabin which was right on the Bow River. You get your own private deck chairs and the view is amazing. The service is great and the cabins have a lovely rustic feel to them. I would give it 5 stars but for the fact that there are no tea and coffee making facilities. There is also no barfridge. The hotel supplies free coffee however when you are staying in a cabin you have to go outside, walk to the hotel and then halfway down the ... Read more

We stayed here in June and lucked out into amazing weather. There was a blizzard one week and sunshine and warm weather the next. Even after the blizzard there was no mud, no puddles just amazing scenery. This hotel is situated on the most amazing patch of land in the entire town as far as I can tell. The hotel owners are incredibly personable guys who are there every day socializing with the guests. My wife and I travel in luxury often and this has become our new favorite hotel.

We stayed here 4 nights. We had a lovely room. Service was excellent-everyone from the front desk to the ladies that cleaned our room. Turn down service every night with fresh water and chocolate on the pillow was an added touch. Hotel is very convenient to the village. We had a nice route from the hotel to run that ended up being about 5 miles. We didn't eat at the hotel so we can't say anything about the restaurants. We had previously stayed two nights at the Hyatt regency in Calgary and then two nights at the Fairmont in Banff. We were in between the Post and the Fairmont and are so happy we choose the Post. Many of the rooms face the water and it is worth the extra money. I wouldn't want a room facing the parking lot. Our room had a king and two twins which was perfect for our family of four. The day we arrived it was pouring rain. We checked in grabbed a bite to eat at the pub and headed to our room to l... Read more

We visited this hotel for two nights as a part of a family wedding group. It is very lovely, with a gorgeous view and running river just outside the room. The room was very comfortable and clean, with nice fruit, robes and slippers. The staff was amazingly helpful so much that each time we went to our car to get something, we'd turn around and see a staff member eager to help carry items. This is a first class experience, at least as far as I am concerned. Incredibly nice rooms for that mountain experience. Staff or attentive and very friendly. If you get the chance, do yourself a favor and don't only stay at this fine hotel but make a reservation in their dining room to experience the complete package.

We recently stayed at the Post Hotel for 3 nights and what a pleasant experience it was. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff. When we got there, we decided we wanted to change rooms to the opposite side of the hotel so we could have a room on a higher level floor. We stayed two nights on our bicycle trip in the Canadian Rockies and couldn't have chosen a better place to do so. Quiet elegance and luxury with a lodge feel. The buildings and grounds by the river are beautiful and perfectly kept with lovely flower boxes from almost every window. I were so looking forward to staying here. Booked way in advance, made plans to go in for dinner... totally pumped. But it was not to be. Granted we picked a busy weekend, but it was overpriced for a dated room overlooking a parking lot. Now, that said, mountains in the distance - and stunning mountains. But it was a parking lot view and two large "posts" in the room to get to the balcony. Clever marketing or a pain? The service was superb. We were asked all the time if we could be offered anyth... Nice spacious room. A little dated but nice log cabin kind of feel with real wood burning fireplace. Fire place is prepped and ready to go and easily lights with a single match. We love the Post Hotel. We last stayed there in 2001, when we got married in their banquet room. This time, with two Tweens, we had a great time. The food is absolutely unparalleled and the service is fantastic. The rooms are cozy, and the fireplace stoked for an evening fire. Close to the local strip mall, a pleasant walk along the river. Location; comfortable rooms; near to the shuttle for the Lake Louise gondola; afternoon tea. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Post Hotel, apart from the price, decor and ambience. The staff are great, but the establishment feels like it is stuck in a 1990s timewarp, delivering a style of service which has long gone out of fashion. Nothing is wrong, but everything could be better - and it should be for the price. My mother would love it - and she's in her late eighties. Say no more.

This little luxury hotel is such a gem that you won't even want to leave for the gorgeous area hikes. The cuisine is divine, service is impeccable, and the rooms are elegant, spacious and comfortable (and, ohhhh, thise lovely bathrooms!). Even the bar and the library offer glorious comfort. This hotel is featured in all kinds of great travel magazines but I'd say its overly hyped and really poor value. And I stay in a fair number of nice places. Two main complaints. First, the views from the restaurant and front lawn overlook....a parking lot. Not kidding. Second, I paid for the more expensive room on the "preferred side" facing the river that runs by the back.
