The expectation for a Delta Resort in an exclusive location was certainly not met. The location is stunning with 360 degree mountain views. The main hotel. Conference centre and Mount Kidd building are very dated with no air conditioning. The John Palliser building has been updated with air conditioning and was lovely. The service in the several restaurants was not what one would expect for a resort of this caliber. The food was meh...., again, not the expectation for a Delta. Very overpriced fo... Read more

What fabulous place! This was my first visit but my husband grew up in the area spending many winters skiing. We visited as a family with our 2.5 yr old and the trip was originally planned for just an adult weekend away. Being unsure what there would be for a family we decided to chance it and go anyhow. I'm glad we did! The staff are so patient and great with kids. There are scheduled activities for kids of all ages and excursions. A swimming pool & large play area for our rambucous little guy.... The location and setting of this resort are beautiful, but the hotel is totally run down and charging too much for what they offer. Restaurants are typical hotel food - not good, but not bad. Pool and hot tub area could be so nice but again it's run down and grungy. We had a big loft suite which was great in terms of space, but again run down. One warning- the fireplace in the room had one of those artificial logs burning. We read the packaging for it that clearly outlines that the logs are ille... Read more

Our room was clean but old furniture and carpet make it stuffy. Duvets were all feather filled and we forgot to mention that we need hypo allergenic bedding. Also, if you have allergies - dogs are allowed in rooms so keep that in mind. Food was available in restaurants but wait time is long, and quality is not that great for the money. The location is amazing - nature is just fantastic around the hotel. We enjoyed the hot tub, mostly in the outdoor part of it. Sauna door still does not close so... Read more

I stayed here with two other people for a friend's wedding held at this hotel in May. Our room number is 3104 and we're all from Calgary. The pros: room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfy. The decor was severely dated and the hotel was probably going for the lodgey feel. However, all this will not give you a good night's sleep. We went to bed at 11 pm but couldn't fall asleep until early morning. The thermostat was broken and the heat coming from the vents was uncontrollable. We turne... Read more

I know they are planning to renovate - but this is a tired hotel and prices should reflect this . We asked for a mountain view room - and were told every room is mountain view - we were put on the first floor (see our view below ) - the room smelled, the windows were leaky and the bathroom smelled of urine - we asked to move - they gave us the room next door / smells were better - the view was not - finally we asked for a room on the third floor - much better. We found the hotels in Banff and Lake Louise to be a bit over our budget. We settled on this hotel a bit out of the way. It turned out we didn't settle at all. The Kananaskis area is beautiful in it's own right. It deserves to be a destination as well as a byway to Banff. More importantly this hotel is very beautiful and I can say that the hotel itself can be considered to be a destination. You can stay almost a week a have good meal in a different venue each day. This is a fairly large property, It is very nice and the rooms are very clean and spacious. We had a King, Loft with a fireplace and it was very good. The food here was also quite good and lots and lots of trails and things to look at. You are not quite in Banff Park but more closer to Canmore but it is Beautiful all the same. It is a good spot before heading into the ice-fields up to Jasper. I enjoyed it and I could see why there could be some detractors, it can be a rowdy place sometimes... Read more

Staff was amazing, but room, 3085, had no air conditioning so fans were supplied. I thought the air conditioning was just down but was informed that no some rooms just don't have it. We were at the lodge for business just for two nights so didn't request a room change, wish I had. Second night was unbearable.

Room has several patches in the wall, as well as the hall way, not to mention the carpet in our room is ripped apart and coming up. It seems this place has not been updated in 20 years. No ice machines even after following the signs down the hall, looks like they have been removed. Guess I'll go swimming....nope....chemical issues in the pool closed early. Compete waste of $500, this place feel like a cheap motel.

The position of this hotel is stunning. Our room was clean and comfortable. I think my only criticism is the hallways are freezing in the main hotel and the older rooms too hot. We were told to place a fan near an open window to cool the room. The food was good in woodys bar and the staff welcoming.

This was the end of a 2 week vacation for us. We could not get over the beautiful scenery driving to this place. At check in we were told we got an upgrade. It was a large king room and was lovely. No AC and it did get hot during the night so put on the fan and that helped a lot. The staff here is so genuine. Natasha at check in was so pleasant. We chose this resort because it was more economical than most nice accommodations in Banff. We did not realize how far it was from Banff and how isolated it was. We thought it was a village with more restaurant choices. Prices for food was steep and traveling with a child often means more family oriented dining from an economical viewpoint. So needless to say we did a lot of driving. The resort itself was lovely

The lobby area was welcoming, with comfortable seating and a wood fire burning, and we found check-in to be fast and friendly. This hotel seems to cater to tour groups, but they handle them very well. No logjams in the lobby when a tour bus is arriving or departing - well done, Delta. Our last stay at this hotel was with the same group of friends and we noticed quiet a difference in the quality of the rooms from our last stay, which admittedly was 15 years ago. The price of the rooms is not commensurate to their quality; they are shabby. It seems like the Delta feels they can charge the room rates they do because of the location, which is truly beautiful. Food in the restaurant was good, but pricey as were the drinks.

Our experience was more than positive. I had asked for an air conditioned room due to my asthma and was assured that wouldn't be a problem. When we checked in, it was a problem. The very friendly clerk gave us an upgraded room at a reduced rate and other perks without being asked. It was a chilly weekend so... Read more

We stayed for 2 nights. Very helpful staff throughout the hotel - especially the guys at the enquiry desk by the main door, they had a great knowledge of the area and helped us decide what we could do each day. The only downside to our room was that there was no air-con, only a floor fan. Nice view of the mountain though. Huge indoor pool and half indoor/half outdoor hot tub which we used each day. There are several restaurants to chose from - we ate in the Bighorn Lounge bar one night & Fi... Read more

Planned on staying for five nights but left after three. Hotel restaurant prices are over the top.. Two burgers and no drinks with fruit for one and a crepe br√Ľl√©e came to $59. Breakfast buffet $24 plus tax. When I called the rate was given plus gst .There is also the tourist tax and a marketing tax. When I questioned the marketing they asked me if I booked through a third party which I didn't and they just said everyone pays it but removed it

Our first port of call after a night in Calgary on a Canadian Rockies holiday, we weren't disappointed. We very much enjoyed our short stay, a busy but peaceful hotel, with a village atmosphere. Plenty of walks, of varying distance without the need to take the car. A little future her afield much else to see and do, walking, boating, fishing and for the more enrage tic cycling! Everyone we had contact with were helpful and ready to assist. A great location to start our holiday in the mountains.

We just stayed in the lodge for 3 nights and really enjoyed it! The lodge is located in a beautiful area and close enough to Canmore and Banff but way more quiet. We also saw a Coyote and a few bears next to the street towards the lodge. Would stay there again

Stayed there with my 13 year of granddaughter for 3 days. Yes, the hotel is a bit dated, but the rooms were clean and the staff were fantastic. We were upgraded to a loft room; no air conditioning, but was not needed due to cool, rainy weather. This lodge is a destination; I wish we had more time to walk the trails. We were in Alberta to see Banff and the Ice fields; quite a bit of driving, but what a beautiful drive. Food was very good, but pricey (you have to go at least 40 minutes to Can... Read more

We enjoyed our one night at Delta Lodge. The rooms are very nice but the facility is a bit outdated. Still enjoyed excellent service a good night sleep and beautiful views on the walking trails behind the lodge. This is a perfect place if you are looking for a get-away but they have you trapped - no dining or shopping options nearby. The lodge has great dining with plenty of choices and a small store so still very nice.

Unfortunately, the "check-in" process being lengthy and awkward, it set the stage for a series of disappointments that lasted the entire stay. The room we had did not look like the ones on the website! We found the hotel "tired" and would not consider staying there again until the major renovations planned for the next few years are completed. The main restaurant, The Fireweed Grill open for breakfast, lunch and dinner was a disappointment and desperately in need of a good cleaning. The tabl... Read more

We visited the lodge for a wedding and had an amazing weekend. The hotel staff were incredible, the food was excellent, the facilities and activities are plentiful and in great shape, and the area is stunning. Our only minor complaint is that the hotel seems to keep all common areas - including the wedding reception hall - at a toasty 23C, which makes for a very sweaty dance floor. We will definitely return to the lodge for future vacations.

After reading some horrorstories about rooms in the old main building we were very glad we got a room in the Palissade (?) building with free parking in the garage and breakfast coupons. The room there was great but only view on trees. For a view you must walk the easy stroll on the rim of the hotelarea. Breakfast was fine on the first day. But on the second day waiter Reina nearly made me explode because of her attitude not to provide some whole grain bread slices. Only after 15 minutes and thr... Read more
