I have to say this is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Wonderful helpful and friendly staff, excellent room, very clean, bed was extremely comfortable. Didn't hear any noise from the other rooms. Complimentary breakfast was well stocked with lots hot and cold food. The hotel is only a few minutes from Bayers Lake shopping. I booked a room for Friday May 20th. My son and I checked in and back out within about an hour. There was an ant crawling on the table when I walked in the room, then about 20 mins later my son found several more on the floor by his bed. Two were crawling on the leather chair in the room. They were very tiny but plentiful. I called to request to be moved and the woman on the phone told me she may not be able to and that there was an ant problem in every hotel in the city, that this was wh... Read more

I am currently staying at the Chateau Bedford and I was very surprised on arrival because I knew that it was renovated but I did not know to what extent. It is absolutely beautiful, the color scheme, new furniture and bedding are beyond my expectations. It is obvious no expense was spared. I have always loved the staff and location of the hotel, and now it seems it is at a higher level than before. The cleanliness of the room and hotel is exceptional. This hotel has everything from comfortable rooms to pool to a fitness center as well as free hot breakfast! They also have free parking, free internet and is about 15 minutes from the historic downtown area! The ladies at the front desk were super friendly and told us where to go, what to see, where to eat etc. The only issue we had was that there was a super noisy group at breakfast in the morning that woke us up around 6 but then we were also close to the breakfast area. We stayed at the Chateau Bedford for a week while we were in between houses. It was clean, comfortable and had great customer service. Our kids particularly liked the free, hot breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes) sitting in front of a water wall that changed colours. The staff would turn the colours on when they saw the kids coming. Other pluses include the indoor pool and that the gym opened at 5:30 am. We spent two days in Halifax (June 30th& July 1st 2016). Shooting from the hip, we came across this hotel on-line, and booked it through their website. Our GPS had no problem finding the place, but they share their narrow driveway with a Tim Horton??s drive thru, and a very busy road. This made it a tricky challenge to get to the parking lot. We stayed one night with the family and the little one loved the pool. I used to stay here years ago when it was the Holiday Inn and I liked it then. Now that the rooms have been renovated, its perfect. We actually stayed in a pet room, not because we had pets, but because this room was the last one available. I was a little concerned about this but we took it anyway and found it to be extremely clean without any odor. I will definitely stay here again.
