This is a nice old house which has been well converted . Our bedroom was a good size with a nice bathroom. The bed was a bit small and not very comfortable and was not properly remade on our second day. Other than that we found it a very nice place to stay. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the self service breakfast was adequate and plentiful. The location suited us being a short walk into town which meant we saw lots of Halifax heritage houses. Also it is a short walk from the public gar... Read more

Good location in the heart of Halifax. Close to tourist attractions, shopping and the waterfront. Continental breakfast was fine. Parking on site but unfortunately costs extra. Nice large bathroom and decent bed.

Staff was friendly, location was superb for walking, but man is that ground floor noisy! Between hearing doors opening and shutting until 1am, and hearing the neighbors in the driveway moving cars around till that time, it was just too loud for sleep. Also, I was under the impression its a non smoking inn, but I did smell cigarette smoke during my stay. It was faint enough to recognize but also strong enough to stink up my coat and all the clothes I brought with me. Sadly will not return.

What a great spot. Unique Victorian feel to the entire hotel, yet it was all modernized and very tastefully decorated. Clean. We walked to the Rebecca Cohen Theater within 10 minutes. Only downfall is that parking is an issue. They have a limited amount of spaces available. Breakfast was basic (cereal, toast, fruit) but had variety.

We stayed here three nights for our first ever visit to Halifax as a couple. The things that are really nice about this hotel: the rooms are cozy and nicely appointed. If you want to splurge, book the front room on the second floor (number 310). It has a whirlpool bath and the room itself is a good size. The rooms at the front do get the traffic noise from the street, so if that bothers you, ask for one in the back. The bed was comfortable and the housekeeping kept the place spic and span. The s... We stayed two nights and wish we could have stayed more. Lovely B&B, great staff, a little slow on our second morning breakfast, but worth it. Our room was very comfortable and clean. No need to drive anywhere until time to leave, close to everything. Would go back in a flash!

We picked this Inn from the many reviewed on TA for our first three nights in Halifax. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast nothing to write home about but the staff were very friendly and it was within walking distance of all points of interest in the City. Bus stop across road takes you to Fairview Lawn Cemetery - Titanic graves site. Beautiful old crhurch and cemetery next door. Parking not an issue as we had flown into the City and picked up our hire car on leaving - Budget in H... Read more

Splendid location and comfortable room! We enjoyed our three night stay and nice breakfasts very much. Our room was in third floor and it was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our walks to the waterfront (Pier 21!) and to the Point Pleasant Park, as well to the Public Gardens.

Just the experience of staying in a historic building was interesting enough. The rooms are very updated though, the beds were comfortable, the amenities were more than adequate and fairly surprising giving the age of the building. Only warning would be if you have luggage you will have to drag it up the stairs yourself. There are a good amount of stairs in the building even if you are on the first floor. Great place to stay though.

Well maintained Victorian property only five minutes from everything Hallifax has to offer. Near by street has the best bars and food outlets, great shopping. Rooms very modern facilities, well appointed and very clean. Breakfast sufficient. Staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed twice as we travelled around Nova Scotia.

Located in a residential area of Halifax near St Mary's University (15 minute walk) and a nice public garden ( 5 minute walk), this bed-and-breakfast is a large Victorian house with contemporary amenities including an elevator and a small parking lot in the rear and a good hot shower. Breakfast in the light and airy parlor is continental, serve-yourself, and the pleasant room is also iopen 5-9 pm for coffee and cookies. The staff are professional and helpful ( they even tracked me down at Hertz ... Read more

We struggled to find a hotel that wasn't booked in downtown Halifax. Then I discovered an ad in the tour book for this B&B. It was a great find. A beautiful restored victorian home with a modern feel. Reasonable priced for Halifax. Parking was extra. Good location, 15 minute walk to Harbour and 5 minute walk to the Public Gardens. Room was clean but had a slight musty smell. Bed was comfortable. Internet was good and flat screen tv in our room Breakfast was basic but sufficient, juice, ... Read more

We like to stay downtown but with our "fixed income" budgets, we avoid chains and tend to look for B&Bs. This fit our bill nicely. The service was excellent, the rooms were newer and clean, not overly large but not cramped either. The shower (two heads) was great! The location was perfect for walkers, we were able to park our van out back, and there's a historical cemetery behind the hotel. The only negative was the limited g-free choices. There was a plate of cold cuts and fruit. We would sta... Read more

We stayed two nights in September. We were able to check in an hour early which was good and the staff were friendly. It is fairly conveniently located to walk around town. I found it to be mostly quiet and got good night's sleep. The accommodations are adequate, but that's about as far as I'd go. The bed was comfortable enough, but rather creaky. The bedroom carpet could do with a good clean, and the bathroom really needed a fan. It got very steamy after a shower and there was nowhere for it to... Read more

We needed a quick place to stay, and the price was right. When we arrived they wanted to charge us for rear overnight parking even though the meters on the street were free. The blankets were itchy and you could hear everyone in the hallway. It was fine for the price but probably wouldnt stay again unless we had no other options

This is a small hotel, not one of the big chain's. The parking is limited, and pricy but that is the same everywhere in Halifax. The good news is that its a short walk to everything...around the corner from the restaurants and shops of Spring Garden Road, and about 15 minutes to the Historic Properties. Good value for the location.

Inn has limited paid parking. Rooms are on the second and third floor with no elevator. Inn is located across from the hospital, but it is quiet, especially with one neighbor being a cemetery. The rooms and bathroom are small, but adequate. Breakfast is minimal with limited seating.

During the last two nights of a two week Canadian Maritime B&B extravaganza, two couples chose The Garden South Park Inn for our stay in Halifax. After the first twelve nights in eleven different B&Bs, we were looking forward to staying the last two in one location. Of course, we had a large basis of comparison during the trip and some of the competition was extremely stiff! The Inn is in a terrific location, close to restaurants and shopping. It's about a fifteen minute walk from the harbor. ... Read more

We stayed in this hotel three nights and were very disappointed right on arrival. We booked room via the phone night before and quoted one rate, but were charged more than $20.00 per night upon arrival. A young lady wasn't able to help us, a manager refused to speak with us. The hotel staff was cold, bias and unwelcoming. There were no apology or any attempt to resolve this issue. On a top of this "welcome", bathtub didn't work, twin beds were too small and very uncomfortable. We wouldn't recomm... Read more

5 o'clock on Friday night, in the pouring rain; after a challenging drive through down-town I find our B&B. There is parking at the rear, for which I was very grateful. There was one other car in the lot. ALL the doors into the home were locked. I eventually make my way around to the front door to find it is also locked. I ring the door bell (?) and wait....did I mention it was pouring down rain? The room chosen for us is on the ground level, right next to the back door to the parking area... Read more
