... my wife an I planned a night out on the town so we decided to book a room downtown. The hotel itself is very nice once inside, it's getting there that's the issue. From parking to the front desk was a good ten minute walk and quite a maze..... we were lucky enough to have a stranger guide us. Once at the main desk the staff was very friendly. We had a Junior Suite on the third floor.... a very nice room w/a king bed with plenty of room. Unfortunately our room was one floor above an open d... Read more

We were there last week, room was good, little out dated but not bad, housekeeping was helpful as we are not local and our English is not good, we are very thankful for the mandarin speaking server last named Tian, he checked us in, upgraded the room and gave us good advices on restaurants. We will recomend to our Chinese friends due to him.

Excellent location! Friendly staff. Comfortable room. Extremely satisfied! I was a little disappointed in the attached shopping center. I thought for a second I could shop and drop upstairs. Unfortunately the mall basically only consists of a small food court, liquor store, and dollar store. At least that's all that stood out. At no fault of the hotel. It would be amazing to be able to shop some good clothes in the same building. As much as I loved this hotel, now that I think of it, the menu pr... Read more

Everything was OK, but the hotel is showing its age. It was obviously built in the late 70s/early 80s. One of my major complaints was the lack of fresh air. You cannot open a window, and the A/C is set at a minimum of 18.8 C - whatever that is! It felt hot. I like a hotel to have the ability to have fresh air at all times. Breakfast is expensive if delivered to the room at $40. A tip - go to Tim Hortons in the nearby Mall - $10. The staff were great though. Really nice and helpful people.

We just returned home after a 8 day stay in Halifax. The rooms at the Delta Halifax are in need of an update, but the room still met our 3 essentials...good bed, quiet, and clean. The bathroom was very small with only one sink and limited counter space. Staff were friendly, and the couple of issues we had were dealt with promptly. We had a call from housekeeping the first day asking if we required anything and what time we would like our room cleaned, which was a nice touch. We did use the po... Read more

Typical business hotel. Clean, service was good. Location is great. The room was very average and dated. I did like that they had a mini fridge and a kettle. Beds are great. They had handy charging station alarm clocks, no need to bring adapter to charge devices.

We came to Halifax for a concert at Scotiabank Center and the Delta Halifax was a perfect location to walk to the show. The access to the pedway is nice for rainy days or slipping down to Casino NS. We stayed here while in town for the Bluenose Marathon weekend. The room was very clean, the staff were really friendly, the price was definitely competitive, and the location cannot be beat. We walked all over town, and it was really quick to get to the race expo and the race itself. We've stayed in a few other hotels over the May long weekend before, but this was one of our better experiences. Recently stayed for three nights at the Delta Halifax in a king room with a view of the MacDonald Bridge and Dartmouth across the bay. My average sized-room had a sofa-bed, desk, and mini-fridge. I don't know how occupied the hotel was during my stay but I did notice that my room was consistently quiet. The room was comfortable but, in my opinion, could use updated furniture and lighting. Conveniently located within walking distance to the waterfront, downtown or the Halifax Casino; the enclosed Pedway is an added bonus for getting around and staying dry. The hotel is clean and modern with all necessary amenities; valet parking was reasonable and very handy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Access to Scotia Square, where you can eat cheaply in the food court, or shop, is very handy. Would definitely stay there again.

We went there for Canada Day weekend and it was fantastic. It is in the inside pedway system so you do not need to go outside to get to the many shops and restaurants. The view was tremendous and asked for a Harbor view for the fireworks on Canada Day and was able to sit out on our own balcony to watch the fireworks with a bottle of wine. If you want linen service, you need to ask or else they will just make the beds but that is with all the hotels.

I have stayed at this hotel three times in the past couple of years, and each time have been pleased. The check in is smooth and quick, and the staff are pleasant. The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds comfortable. I also found the rooms quiet so proximity to the elevators is not an issue. For the price we paid ($135/nt) during high season, I suppose we couldn't expect it to be luxurious. Parking was costly at $22 +HST a night, but you do have in/out privileges. Overall, it's a tired and outdated hotel that desperately needs a complete makeover: the wallpaper was bubbling, the grout in the bathroom tiles were dirty, there was no ventilation in the bathroom, and the bedsheets didn't stay on the mattress. However, the room was spacious enough and the bed was comfortable. An incl... Read more

Room and bed very comfortable, location can't be beat, breakfast in the dining room was superb, there were absolutely no shortcomings. I liked the pool, spa, there is a on-site massage place called Sore Spot that was excellent, would go back just for that.

Stayed here for one night during a business trip. Very clean property with well appointed rooms. Great business center and excellent breakfast. Decently equipped gym, pool, hot tub, and sauna. The only thing that would make this property even better is a proper Marriott concierge lounge!! Thanks!

The staff were friendly and helpful, truly the best part of the experience. The location is also ideal. The restaurant is worthy of a visit (which is unusual for a hotel restaurant). The gym and pool are not bad. The rooms are, however, really dreary, dated, and in desperate need of a renovation. They are very clean, but depressing. Do not come here expecting the rooms to be similar to those in other Delta or Marriott hotels.

Checked into this place, what an experience especially if you have a car. No place to park to get squared away, then, had to back up and around to get into the parkade. Then when you park, it's a maze that I never did figure out so had to go outside and follow my trail from the outside. Then when it was time to leave, the credit card reader wouldn't work and they had to send down security to pay and let me out.. No rush back here, at least with a car. To it's defense, it is a great location... Read more

Myself along with my husband and 14 year old son stayed here for 3 nights in late August. I had booked a harbour view room with a balcony. The room was on the small side but the view was amazing. The amenities in the room were very nice. A coffee maker, kettle and small fridge. I really appreciated the kettle for making tea, as I usually have to make tea with the coffee maker which always tastes a little like coffee. A nice robe was available. Since the size of the room required one of the beds ... Read more

When you book make sure you know which Delta There are two! Delta Barrington and Delta Halifax. They are across the street from each other. Self park with Hotel Halifax that is inexpensive. Great restaurant with excellent prices!

This hotel offers many things- location, hospitality, convenience... Have stayed here many times and learn more each time. Easy access to anything tourists love about Haifax! Can walk anywhere and even have places to get to if it rains--and it did! Will stay here again!!

We stayed here for three nights and the hotel offered everything we needed. The hotel and rooms were a bit dated but it was clean and comfortable. The hotel was walking distance to the harbour and pretty much anywhere you'd want to go. Our room had a balcony with a view of the water. I really liked this because there is nothing worse than a stuffy room. The pool was a nice touch, but the hot tub was only okay. The jets don't produce bubbles so it was more or less like sitting in a bath tub. Brea... Read more

Wow,is all I can say I have lived in Halifa. Area for a long time but first time we were ever here. Beautiful I would highly recommend this as a venue for any wedding The view is spectacular and the service perfect The food was outstanding and the rooms were clean And comfortable The only negative would be the parking just because you have to park in the parkade. But definately not a deal breaker! So pleased this is where my son got married

We spent 1 night at the Delta Halifax last Saturday and we had wonderful service the entire time. Our room had a harbor view, king size bed and sofa. The AC in the room worked very well and the comp. bottles of water were a nice touch. I've heard that the hotel is getting a face lift very soon and I can't wait to see what it turns out to be. Parking is also an additional fee but parkade system is very efficient. Delta Halifax is a great location with friendly staff. I would recommend.

We had some issues in Halifax (not the hotel but the airport shuttle which was disgraceful) and the staff were exceptional. Professional and friendly. The cleaning staff, also, were diligent and welcoming/respectful. This hotel is not cheap but we were happy to be there and would recommend for anyone in Halifax.

Very nice and very helpful staff. Gareth welcomed us when we checked in, He was very friendly and welcoming. Jade was extremely helpful to me in procuring a plastic seat for the bathtub as I have mobility issues and required one. When I requested it, she ensured it was delivered and promptly upon request. Upon departure, Amelie came and helped me get my suitcase out to the front sidewalk. Many thanks to all. It was certainly appreciated.

The Delta Halifax was in a great location. We could very easily walk to all the attractions along the waterfront and to great restaurants away from the water. The Delta is attached to a mall that had a great food court for quick breakfasts or lunches. Breakfast at the Delta was also very good. Loved the French toast stuffed with blueberries and cheese. Hotel staff were very good at recommending places to eat. Durty Nelly's was one of my favourite spots. Would recommend reservations for places li... Read more

As a platinum member they treat me very well here. Brian and Joseph at the bar are awesome and treat all of their customers well. The Jr. and regular suite rooms are very spacious and the harbor view is nice from some of the rooms. If you have status, they offer a nice free breakfast in the morning. No concierge lounge like the Delta Barrington, but the breakfast more than makes up for that. The bar and restaurant are also run better at the Delta Halifax.

Visited this hotel in august and would go back with no hesitation. The staff is friendly and the room met our expectations. Very well located. Food court near by. The bar and restaurant are very good. Friendly staff, good choice of local beer and the chef mussles are the best. A different mussels sauce every day.

Stayed here 6 nights for a conference and found this hotel to be charming and convenient. Views from the 8th floor ballroom are spectacular, the food is good, rooms are quiet and the staff was outstanding. It's located next to a nice mall which provides access to just about anything a traveler might need. Quick walk to the waterfront too. Conference facilities, pool and fitness center were also very nice

It's a decent location, not "central" but Halifax isn't that big. About 5 minute walk to the water, Lower Deck and food. A bit tricky to get to the parking lot, it's available off the highway but might have to drive around the block if you miss it. Parking is cheaper to pay as you go if you are staying overnight, however if you need it for three days better to get the hotel pass that has in and out privileges. Unless you can't walk it's likely you won't need it if you are staying in Halifax. St... Read more

We had the pleasure of staying at the Delta Halifax for 8 days, business and relaxation. Impeccably friendly courteous helpful staff from the top management, to the housekeeping team. The Delta Halifax is premier in Green management, in fact, trees were planted on our behalf for participating in their Green Initiatives for water savings. We ate most all meals at the Harbor City bar and grill, the hotel restaurant. This stay was their summer Lobster Suppers. What a treat for folks in sea... Read more

Good closet space. Bathroom was clean..lots of counter space. Free wifi Check in was quick and easy, friendly staff. Definitely not worth paying extra for the harbour view. The bathroom is small and the bathtub small. Very busy lobby and parking located far. Not was we were hoping for since we found it was a more expensive than average hotel.
