Thought that the room was a little dated. There was some kind of large stain on the mattress. Stayed one night for a business conference and the men's washroom next to the conference area was disgustingly dirty and the main washroom close to the restaurant had significant damage. It seemed as though washrooms had not been properly cleaned in quite a long time. Not sure as to how this could have been overseen.

Stayed here for one night during a weekend trip to Ottawa. Stayed here because of the price.Hotels in Ottawa were almost double the price. The hotel is right across the bridge from Ottawa. Its about a 2 km walk to downtown. Very nice walk.A cab is maybe 10 dollars. The hotel was great, clean, comfy beds, restaurant on site but sadly not much around it when it comes to food etc. Lots of weddings there and can be noisy. There was a bridal party right next door and we did not hear them. Parking is ... Read more

Stayed here for one night and it was OK. It's clean and comfortable enough but part of an aging complex of government buildings so has a rundown feel. One major complaint is the level of bilingualism. Struggled to communicate with two staff in English which is not an issue in this area usually.

Went to Ottawa on a bus tour for the purpose of seeing the Tulip Festival 5/12 -5/15 2016. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We had a beautiful water view from our room on the 10th floor. The staff was bilingual (French & English) which was helpful as we were all from Massachusetts. The staff was helpful and accommodating. Food at the hotel was average but satisfying. The tulips were magnificent, our tour guide was dressed in a period costume and resembled Mary Poppins. She was a great... Read more

The hotel is well situated if you have business with the Federal bureaucrats - it is a 10 minute walk to the complex, and a 10 minute walk to several bars and restaurants. The hotel restaurant is unremarkable, but the staff is eager to help. The hot buffet is of the same ilk as the free breakfasts at the Hampton or Springhill. The room is comfortable and clean with a bath tub. There was a pan handler hanging around the lobby one morning. He seemed inoffensive, but it did make us uncomfortable.

I am staying here right now and am really enjoying myself. The view from my room is great - I am facing out onto the Chaudiere Falls and can see the War Museum and the Parliament Buildings. There are few little things that could be done to improve the experience here. Last night it took quite awhile to check in as there were several people in front of me, including a man representing a large group, and there was only one clerk. Eventually a second person came out and things went much more quickl... Read more

It was a terrible time for me there. I had terrible noisy banging floor above my room...may be I was not Lucky because a large groups of Young teenager was staying above my room. I call many time the front desk for two days and noting changed. For two days I was stressful by the noise above my room . I took the time to specify and write a message for my reservation that I want a quiet room but the crown plaza did not respect my demand. Very desapointed

The hotel is really nice and the room quite big and spacious on the top floor. The team member who welcomed me on check-in could not understand English and forced me to speak and to understand him in French using my little knowledge of the language and the same happened to me when I called at the reception desk because my hairdryer was not working and no one at the desk could understand the word hairdryer and it took me more than 5 minutes to ask for help and the maintenance guy took more than 2... The hotel is nice and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We enjoyed the view from our tenth floor room. The bath and body works products are a nice touch. The staff were friendly and helpful. No complaints at all. The parking is 18$ a day, which was kind of a bummer but there's an above ground lot next door for 13$ it's not too far from anything. I'd stay again!

Upon arrival we were greeted by a South African gentleman who had a very limited knowledge of outside the hotel. The room appointments were excellent, HOWEVER, the one thing which was missing was the standard hotel compendium. This usually carries all the important information about the hotel services and local information eg: the nearest Post Office or nearest food or drug store etc, IN THE ONE FOLDER. We contacted the reception only to be told that they don't have/carry hotel compendiums a... Read more

Good spot for business traveling, easy to get into Ottawa and on the highway. Room was a little dated but very spacious and generally well kept. Not a lot of breakfast places around, which is important when needing to get on the road early. Parking was also a little tricky, it is shared with government employees and is all underground. As a female travelling alone having to go through the garage all the time was not always practical.

We stayed from July 1 - 6. We wanted a location that was close for the Canada Day fireworks. We also wanted a convenient location for our stay in the Ottawa-Gatineau area. Reviews has us a bit nervous. However, when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. We booked (2) Executive King rooms. They found 2 adjoining rooms for us. Staff also managed to accommodate our request for a higher floor and a view of the Ottawa River. Rooms were larger than we expected. Very clean. They had a... Read more

This is a well-located, quiet hotel with very nice rooms....actually quite large and well appointed. I spoke French a lot there but if I did not speak the language I would have gotten along fine. Good room darkening drapes and curtains assure you a good night's sleep. I was a little reluctant to try their restaurant because I did not see many people eating there, but ended up with a decent dinner and breakfast. This review comes in a little late this time, we were there almost a month ago now. We booked it on and got a great value so let me start off by saying the price was right. We had planned a weekend getaway in Ottawa and Gatineau area, and this hotel was just perfectly located. They are 5 min from downtown Ottawa, and 5 min from the Casino, just to give you an idea. I've stayed here multiple times in the past for business, rooms are large, updated, but the hotel is quickly starting to go downhill. Not much is done in terms of investments to keep up the hotel. The room we were in had mold coming out of the vents, we changed rooms and the next room had the same issue, only it was painted over. My wife and kids are severely allergic to mold and we had to leave the hotel as a result. They would need to invest in cleaning the HVAC systems more regularly. Other t... Read more

We went to Crowne Plaza to stay for one night. We booked three rooms that were $200 each but found the bills the next morning charging us $600 per room. The rooms were small, not very clean, and each room only had two double beds not worth $600 at all (we found that $200 was already overpriced for a small room). My spouse and I booked an executive king suite through our bank's reward system and it was our first stop during our vacation. We stayed mid-August. Nice hotel, nice room. It was clean, My only complaint was that when one of the kids left a sweater behind it took them 45 minutes to tell us it was probably stuck in the laundry. The gentlemen who was supposedly searching for it wasn't even in the building. (They didn't know I understood French}. I left them our information to let me know if they found it and have never heard from them since.

I arrived there quite late, and I unfortunately didn't have too much chance to explore the hotel further. What I got is a quite big room in 6th floor, I think it was almost 30 sqm, which is pretty big for a standard room. Staffs were friendly, there was no problem for internet connection. The hotel is located around 3 km from downtown Ottawa. I didn't encounter any problem at all during the stay, although I would also consider several other hotel options in the neighborhood as well.

Front desk staff gave you the impression that you were bothering them. Room was very clean, tastefully decorated, secure locks on door. Regardless of all of the above the room was nice and the price was decent.

The hotel is a nice hotel. Don't get me wrong. The reception staff were great. The remainder staff in the hotel were not at par and were rude and not friendly. The breakfast was cold and bear. When we asked for warm milk for our daughter they told us no. That is sad. So if you do go, just keep in mind the service and kindness won't be there but the bed will be nice. Personally, I'm sticking to my Hyatt and Radisson. They don't let me down on quality of service and care for their customers.

We stayed for a too short one night stay on a bit of a Canada road trip. The place was easy to find and our room (a king suite with one bed and a sofa bed for my daughter) had amazing views.
