Firendly desk staff. Each room has a balcony, which is also a nice touch Weird heating cooling system that can only be hot OR cold so if you travel in Spring or Fall this can be tricky. Beds are soft (if you like that great..I don't cause of low back issues). Breakfst is pretty standard fare but do love the fresh fruit and yogurt that I can just grab on go! Pool area was nice although hotub was closed for most of my visit because it was too hot (If it's too hot then fix it or just warn us that ... Read more

The hotel was not new, however it was recently renovated. Staff was very friendly, and the rooms were recently renovated. The hotel is your basic hotel, with continental breakfast, it would appear they have conference rooms, and they have a decent pool, and fitness facility. Some of the rooms, have balconies, which I really enjoyed. The only downside, is the cleaning crew, seems to leave laundry in bags in the hallway, not sure if that is standard for them, but because it was not expected, it f... Read more

Friendly and attentive staff. I was very impressed with the room as it seemed to have recently been redone and new beds. Bathroom a little older but clean and functional. Nice standard Holiday Inn free breakfast and a reason I picked this hotel. Was a little annoyed that they added parking charges. Good location. The beds and linen were top notch and I fell asleep quickly and did not wake up as temperature controls also worked well. Young and loud field trip but I did not hear a thin... Read more

We were here for 3 nites. The rooms were large and comfortable. The placement of the bathroom was a bit odd. It was the 1st thing you saw after entering the room, so if someone entered the room and someone was in the bsthroom, you couldn't get out until the room door was closed.

Love the ample parking however was not happy with the late check in. We were on a tight timeline to get to a wedding and the delay was stressful. The desk staff handled it as best they could and called a taxi as requested. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were labeled for soft and firm. The room was clean except for the mirror in the bathroom, and when required touch ups were reported to the front desk the information was recorded (light bulb that needed to be changed and a ve... This particular Holiday Inn has room darkening shades that are a big bonus to me! Extremely clean room, very comfy bed and bedding, nice tv with lots of channels to choose from, nice decor, free b'fast and if your travelling by Red Arrow bus, their depot is actually in the same building. Very convenient. I'm glad I stayed here!

A hotel built in the 60s that is showing its age. Needs some serious renovations and upgrades to be competitive. The room and hallways stank like old smoke and BO. The elevator unconvincingly stuttered up to my floor. Laundry was left in the halls like trash. My room wasn't clean and when I asked for someone to address that issue the next time they were in the room, they never bothered.

I have stayed at this hotel over 20 years of business trips to Edmonton. Sad to say, this stay was not close to previous experiences. When your curtain pull is in pieces on the floor the day I checked in, and is still in pieces in the same place after a four night stay, you know there are problems with the management and staffing at this site. The iron was broken and encrusted with previous burns. The floors in the guest room and in the hallways have not been vacuumed in the time I was here. TV ... Read more

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The free breakfast was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even opened up their penthouse event space for a few of us to go up and watch the fireworks with our kids. This worked out perfectly because of how young our sons are (4 and 6) as with an 11pm they were off to bed within minutes of the show. Our stay wasn't without hitch, but the problems we experienced aren't really worth mentioning because of how fast they responded to the issues an... Read more

I had the best customer service experience at this property in all my years of travel, both international and in the U.S. Frances greeted us warmly upon arrival via Uber even in our tousled state. Check in was a breeze and then Frances enlisted Estere Westmaas, the supervisor, to assist me with our friend's reservation prior to their arrival. I wanted to use my IHG points for their stay, but the IHG app would not comply. After checking the computer, Estere found there was not availability fo... Read more

This was going to be a good review until I checked my VISA and saw a charge for $43.73. I called and spoke to a supervisor who told me that the charge is not a charge. Didn't appreciate a supervisor arguing with me. If VISA says I owe them money then it's a charge! She said it was as damage deposit. There was no mention of this when I checked in and there was no mention of this charge on my receipt when I checked out. I will not do business with a place that thinks it's ok to quietly charge cus... Read more

I stay at this property often for business, as it is well-located and comfortable. The staff are always friendly and the facility itself is getting better through recent renovations. It is really the staff that make this place worthwhile. Just one example - on my last stay i accidentally dropped one of my favourite earrings in the bathroom sink, and it went past the stopper right down the drain! I called the front desk. Things sometimes go wrong with your hotel stay, and it's OK, unless the hotel's customer service is useless...which happened to us. So perhaps wait until this hotel has finished it's renos and training before staying here. When checking in we were a little irritated that the lady at the front desk seemed a little confused and inexperienced, but we laughed it off. Later the evening we realized our room is boiling hot & stuffy since the aircon did not seem to work - we called the front desk and ... Read more

We arrived at the hotel ready for a swim, a cocktail in our room, and a place to have a nice dinner in the area when we were met with the news that the rooms of the type we had reserved (King exec) were all on the upper levels and those floor were without hot water and were going to be for the duration of our stay. I usually have troubles with the a/c and I would have liked to have kept my patio door open but I was only on the second floor so didn't. a/c wasn't too bad. My boyfriend and I stayed in the King Jacuzzi Suite as a special way to celebrate his Birthday. The room was beautiful, with a balcony and in-room Jacuzzi. I liked that the floor was wood laminate ?? NOT carpet; Cleaner, smells better, and looked great. Although there is something to be said about the effectiveness of carpet in reducing noise. Bring earplugs if your a light sleeper! This hotel was a great stay, in a nice location downtown. They have a really good free breakfast in the morning with hot pancakes, sausages, eggs, yogurt, muffins, fruit, cereal, toast, and a few other things. It really wasn't busy at all either, and we had a fast check in and check out. Lots of parking in both the parking lots across the street. Don't pay in the parking lot, pay the $12 inside.

Nice hotel in heart of Downtown Edmonton. Easy walk to Alberta Legislative Building and other sightseeing, shopping and restaurants. Free breakfast. Helpful staff. Restaurant adjacent had limited hours, but there are dozens of other restaurants within a few blocks. I enjoyed Rocky Mountain Icehouse and Craft Beer Market. Public bus stop nearby to get to West Edmonton Mall.

This Holiday Inn Express is located in a business area close to the 104th Street Promenade and within walking distance of the Legislative Building, Strathcona (Whyte Street) and the High Level Bridge. We found our room to be clean and even though there was construction underway inside the building, it was quiet. The breakfast was OK and was served in very pleasant surroundings. The staff was very friendly. Parking is located just outside the front door.
