This hotel was very accommodating. Their costumer service was top notch. Being a Fort Mcmurray evacuee, finding affordable lodging was important. The website was easy to use and booking a room while escaping a beast of a fire was not a problem. The staff was very kind and helpful. One staff member in particular (Henrietta) help out a lot. She went above and beyond the call of duty making sure that my girlfriend and I were properly settled in. Dwayne was also a wonderful help as well. My only p... Read more

Upon entering the coliseum I was greeted with a warm smile. My check in time was quick. I believe the name was Jowana. She was very kind, she helped me with directions to south gate. The breakfast was amazing and I will recommend this place to all my friends

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel on June 3. The experience was excellent. The front desk staff were friendly and professional. The room was bright and clean the the bed was very comfortable. The included continental breakfast was a surprise. There were hot items as well as cold items. The kitchen staff were very friendly. Parking was free which was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will definitely stay there again.

We were taking in the Craft Beer Fest and got a room so we would not have to drive. The Coliseum Inn was terrific! The staff was very welcoming and helpful. There is free parking which is a huge bonus. The room was clean and recently updated. There was also a Continental breakfast and I was sure it would consist of toast and a few pastries. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that in addition to toast and pastries there was bacon, sausage and eggs as well as waffles. The food was excellent. ... Read more

Stayed at the coliseum for a few nights in a king room of the 7th floor, the room was beautiful and the lobby felt very grand and open. The front desk agents were very helpful with any request i had, and even the breakfast servers came out and asked how your stay was during the morning. all in all it was a very wonderful experience, I will be coming back.

My 3 friends and I stayed at the hotel for the Justin Bieber Concert in June. Check in was fast and theres a great restaurant not even 5 mins away ! The only thing I would change is the early check in fee, My friends and I drove from Fort McMurray and arrived in Edmonton around 10:30 am, When we called to see if the room was ready so we could drop off some stuff, they told me it was but there was a 50$ fee for early check in, but that was not even really an issue as the rest of the hotel was fab... I stayed at the coliseum inn for a week-end get away with my girlfriend, when we checked in the front desk asked why we came to town, once they found out we were trying to have a romantic weekend away they seemed to roll outage red carpet. They gave us a bottle of wine and offered a free upgrade to a suite!!! It went a long way for us and we want to thank the coliseum and staff for making our weekend away something to remember and giving us the romantic trip we were looking for. Have stayed at t... On a busy road so.ask for a quiet side. Free parking in ajacent parkade. Avoid if there is an event at Rexall Centre as it is directly opposite and it will be busy and noisy. Rooms are the usual setup.

Great place to stay if your planning on attending an event at Rexall Place across the street. Check in was quick and the room was clean except for some hair in a corner on floor in the bathroom. The furniture was scratched up some but other then that, the place was ok. The a/ c worked alright, the bed was clean and comfy. In room coffee, tv and wifi worked vg. Breakfast was serve yourself and it was really good.

I was in Edmonton for a concert. The venue was only one train stop away, so very convenient. My room was clean and overlooked the liquor store behind. The room temperature was fine, I like it cool, however others told me that their rooms were hot and you cannot adjust the temperature. The hotel staff seemed most pleasant. The room rate included parking internet and breakfast. If you are going for the breakfast arrive at least 15 min. before end time as The door was locked and everything put away... Read more

We booked this hotel so we were able to walk across the street to the Rexall Place.. Check in was fast and friendly and we found out we got a free upgrade from Dwayne. We got a suite instead of the King size room we had booked. The suite itself is very nice; top floor, corner room. I did notice some minor things (light bulbs out, cracked cocking along the tub, crack in the bathroom door) about the room, but in light that I didn't pay full price for it I was extremely pleased. The breakfast that ... Read more

The staff is very nice, the room looks ok, but that does not make up for the fact that the neighborhood is REALLY SCARY!!! The parking lot is totally run down, strip bar is right under thew hotel. This is the shadiest area I have ever stayed at.

Despite the sketchy neighborhood the hotel is located in, the service was great. The views of Edmonton's skyline were awesome at night. We ran into a problem in the room; the tv did not work. Shay, the lady working at the front desk, was happy to move us in a room down the hallway despite failed attempts at fixing the tv. It seemed like she was the only one working at the hotel at the time. This stay at the Coliseum Inn was towards the end of a 5 week road trip through the western American Natio... Read more

The hotel room was good for the price I paid, but going from the parking lot to the entrance was not a nice experience. Not a good area at all. I would not go there with my family. However, location can be handy for the Rexall place and the price:quality ratio was good.

Bad news first. - our shower pin for the faucet was laying on the side of the tub like someone had meant to fix it, but never got around to it, so we fixed it. - housekeeping trying to get us to check out earlier than our checkout time - the menu they had in the room was for the restaraunt next door, but there was a paper in the back for room service from a lounge/restaurant in the hotel. Phoned it, learned that it is no longer there. So no idea why they had a paper for it in the menu lol Good ... Read more

Granted, the location is sketchy, to the point where I would not walk outside at night, but the hotel offered us an upgrade to a suite and it was gorgeous! Loved this room from the second we walked in. Actually it was a living room, kitchen, and bedroom with a king-size. Location is right across from the Rexall Centre (formerly the Edmonton Coliseum) so there are no other amenities nearby. However, in daylight, I would not hesitate to run to the river valley (about 1.5 km to get to the trails)... Read more

I was a skeptic. I am not too much for hotel in location like this one. I was agreeable surprised as far as for the stay. Yes, other critic are right, it's in a hole far from everything. BUT! Lets go with the plusses. Bed was excellent, fixture, though I little bit older and in some case damaged by time... clean... very very calm in your room... not in the corridor or in the entrance or if you open your window. Because it is close to traffic it brings lot of noise, unsavory crowds by moment, ... Read more

I want to start out by saying I never stay in hotels like this but I booked it based solely on its close proximity to a very special concert, The Tragically Hip. First off the positives, we couldn't have been in a better location, our room was on the 5th floor facing Rexall so we could see the action happening before the concert which added to our anticipation. After the concert we were back in a flash, avoiding driving from the packed parking lots and busy streets. It was actually entertainin... Read more

The area of the city has a bad rep, but you would never know based on the service and atmosphere of the Coliseum Inn. My room had a great view of Rexall and downtown Edmonton. Comfortable bed and jetted tub made for a relaxing visit.

The only reason I'd suggest someone stays here is if you're going to a concert at Rexall place; you simply cannot beat the location. The hotel is basic, but it has what you need for one night, plus you don't have to struggle for parking with other concert goers.

When you look at the hotel from the outside you might be thinking "omg where the heck I have landed here" but if you get inside you will be suprised. The price is fair and the rooms are clean and tidy. We had two queensize beds and the washroom was big and clean. The breakfast is included too. In addition, you can park your car for free.

This was a decent hotel for the value. We got what we expected. The room was clean and the bed, electronics, and fixtures were updated. There were a few things, like large gouges out of the desk that made it look like they desk was 25 years older than the room, and the toilet handle kept falling off, that made my rating of the room decrease. The lobby smelled strongly of incense, which was overpowering for me, but some may like it. It also lacked a cozy atmosphere because there was no seating ... Read more

Coliseum Inn is an older hotel, probably built during the 80's when the Oilers were actually a draw. Now that there isn't much hockey in this location, I suspect there will almost always be vacancies at this hotel. The good is that the price was excellent. We bought during a sale, but our king sized room was less than 100 dollars for the night. There is a restaurant on site, and the provided breakfast was decent, with scrambled eggs and bacon on top of the usual "free" breakfast items. The... Read more
