I stayed here for 4 nights as I was attending a conference. The room that I stayed in was excellent; however others stayed in a rooms where you couldn't open a window, or access a fridge. My room had a balcony, a fridge etc and was only $5 more per night. I did find it odd that you cannot smoke on the balcony, so it was quite a track to go outside. It wasn't very soundproof, but also wasn't horrible either. It was very clean and comfortable. The wifi can be very spotty at times, but I was no... Read more

My recent one night stay lead to a lack of sleep (the mattress was very hard and stiff) and the pillows were too soft (for us side sleepers). The restaurant was not open for lunch which caused problems for the delegates to the convention I was attending. The staff were great and the location is excellent.

I stay at this Holiday Inn, I get there early, the people at the front desk, are so kind, they always seam to find a room that is ready for me. Always very happy to tell me directions how to get to places, the one time, the guy even came out side in the very cold windy day, to show me the way, to get to the fairy. The rooms are always clean.

I booked extremely last minute and it cost me 180! The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming when I arrived at about 10pm. I checked in and the room was nothing special. It was perfect for a quick stay but the location was dreadful. There was a ton of construction outside our top floor (7) window that happened to all start about midnight. So needless to say it was loud. The restaurant was good but a bit pricey for what we received. Also thank goodness for the laundry services at this hotel it ... Read more

I think this hotel is on the Dartmouth side of the water, not the Halifax side. The neighborhood around the hotel is sketchy, and the parking lot looks creepy, especially at night. The hotel itself is showing its age inside. Rooms are small and dingy, and the bathrooms tiny. In need of a massive overhaul. If you like to get out and walk around during your stay, this is not the place in my opinion. I would highly recommend that you pay a little extra and stay on the Halifax side of the water,... This Holiday Inn was better than I expected! My experiences at Holiday Inn's have been inconsistent, so I was wasn't sure what to expect. However I found this location to be a good hotel for a good value. The views of the harbour are excellent and the beds were extremely comfortable. It is located in a very quiet neighborhood without a lot of action, so if you're looking for nightlife or vibrancy outside the front doors, this isn't the location for you. This cozy hotel brings you everything you need. Confort and service. And it's a walking distance from the Farmer's market (Alderney Landing) and ferry to downtown Halifax. On the other side of the coin, the food at the Hotel's restaurant isn't worth more than 2 1/2 stars. Sorry folks.

I had two stays here in two weeks; the first room was great, as the wifi was great, the bed was comfortable, and had an in-room fridge, but the second really wasn't, as the wifi was poor in it, it was in a noisy location of the hotel at the far end of a long hallway, and had no fridge, even though it was the same type of room. Other things here need improving also, as the place is showing its age, and while there is ample parking, if you don't bring a car, public transit is close by. Would defin... Read more

I was prepared for a mixed experience; however, after reading the reviews and downplaying my expectations, I absolutely LOVED staying here. If they do a complete renovation, it will drive up rates. If they keep it the same and change nothing, they need to do one thing to get five stars from me: put up that awesome old, vintage sign to match the property character. For the fool who complained about having to walk across the street to go to the gym: the Dartmouth sportsplex is an amazing facility... Read more

Management really needs to read these reviews and push up this timeframe. Bathrooms are ridiculously small. The bedroom is fine for size just stains/rips on the carpets, fraying curtains. This hotel is entirely mediocre. There isn't anything remarkable about it, and that's not necessarily a good thing. The name of the hotel says "Halifax Harbourview" and I'm sure that's to entice tourists into thinking this hotel is in Halifax - it's not. It's on the other side of the harbour, meaning if you get a room on the water side of the hotel you will have a view of the Halifax Harbour.
