It's rare that a hotel can make you feel at home rather than at a hotel. But that's exactly what The Great George hotel does. From the warm welcome you receive at check-in...to the varied breakfast available in the lobby or to go each day...to the complementary happy hour each weekday afternoon...to its charming, elegant ambiance and superb location, this hotel is simply the best. The level of quality is outstanding at the Great George. The service, the location, and the rooms are all excellent. You can tell that the owners and staff take pride in the building and it shows. Breakfast was terrific as well. The only drawback is that parking can be tricky around the building as the dedicated lot is small, but that is more of an FYI than a negative point. Highly recommended.

We fell in love with PEI, and one of the best aspects of our trip to the island was staying at The Great George! The ambience was luxurious without being stuffy, and the staff were friendly without being pushy. We felt pampered and at home in the stylish lobby, where we enjoyed breakfast and a lovely happy hour.

Stayed here for the second time and was just as delighted as my first visit. The service, especially at check-in, is excellent. The traditional rooms are very nice and any concerns about street noise, which is minimal, are offset by earplugs provided by the hotel. I love the complimentary happy hour, freshly-baked cookies until midnight, continental breakfast and parking. However, I don't think I would stay here if I couldn't get my corporate rate as the standard rate is substantially higher.

Great service, love the casual breakfast in the lobby but really thoughtful to have breakfast to go bags for those heading out early. We were with friends and it was nice having a living room to share an evening cocktail before dinner. Room was very comfortable but if you can't do stairs make sure you request a main floor since our room was two stories and a good hike with luggage. Main floor room of our friends was loud with the people above. Excellent location walking distance to dinner.

we traveled to charlottetown for 4 nights for a business meeting at the nearby delta prince edward. thankfully, the delta was sold out and we secured reservations at the great george. it was a beautiful experience. our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. the shared space with refrigerator for the 4 other rooms in our unit (wellington house) was lovely. we even had a shared little patio with adirondack chairs. the location can't be beat. walkable to all of charlottetown. so many great pl... If travelling to Charlottetown stay no where else! The staff go above and beyond. The breakfast is perfect! They have such a nice seating area welcoming all. Complimentary drinks 5-7. we stayed in the J H Down House (see picture). The whole top floor was ours. 2 Bedrooms, bathroom, large lounge and kitchen. Luxury! Had a great sleep both nights we were there. Staff were very friendly and happy hour was welcome with complementary drinks and nibbles. Don't miss the guided tour when one of the managers takes you on a walk around the various properties that make up the Great George while delivering an interesting history lesson.

Had booked The Great George for One night and fell in love with it and was lucky enough to book another night. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. The lobby, the experienced, friendly and very helpful staff and the rooms have every comfort imagine able. It was walking distance to everything and when you arrive back at the hotel you felt you were walking into a warm and inviting home. Can't wait to go back.

It felt like been in Great Britain in 1800, definitely will stay here again. beautiful rooms and hotel decor , Victorian style where character touches every single corner of the property. The location is excellent as you are in downtown CHarlottetown. Bring your other half or your parents or grandparents for a journey in time and history. The island is simply gorgeous for relaxation and food! air can't get fresher than here
