Best Western Charlottetown offered a great location, a really nice room and a wonderful value for the money. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, the free breakfast offered a lot of good choices. Free Wi-Fi worked well. We had a deluxe room and really appreciated all the amenities we could use in the kitchen there.

After having stayed 2 nights in the Best Western Charlottetown I would recommend it to anybody seeking reasonably price accommodation in Charlottetown, PEI with outstandingly friendly staff. The hotel has all of the amenities except a restaurant. But they do offer an excellent hot breakfast buffet. It is clean and completely met my expectations!

This place was bad from The start. I had to try 3 times to reserve our room and still wasn't sure if it went through ( and that's talking to someone at their front desk ). We went with a team and even though we had reserved 2 months ahead of time, they still couldn't group us together even though they had blocked off rooms for us. The building is really run down, the service is bad ( we asked for extra blankets 3 times and they never brought them to us. We were woken up at 4:30am by a random str... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip. Close to downtown, no problems walking everywhere. Good coffee and wifi in the room worked fine. Good value, take a 3rd floor room -quieter. Don't take the upgrade to a 2nd floor suite - near the entrance and too noisy. Hot breakfast was a nice perk, and quite edible. Best thing about it was the staff, especially Tracey at the front desk. Great value in Charlottetown!

I stayed here for 4 nights with my 2 cats and dog. The first housekeeper was fantastic and she came in everyday to give me fresh towels etc. On the third day of being there I received a phone call from the front desk saying a housekeeper wouldn't clean my room because he was scared my cats would run out. Well, my cats hide under the bed first off. And secondly, he could have closed the door over like the first housekeeper did. So I got no fresh towels, no garbage change, nothing. I asked the fr... Spent five days at this location while touring Prince Edward Island as it is most central. Facilities where very comfortable and plenty of room for two adults in a two Queen bedroom. Staff were most helpful and courteous. The only drawback is that they did not have a hot tub, but does have a swimming pool.

Arrived a little early, our room was not ready..they upgraded us to a deluxe Queen..so that meant full kitchen...did not need that..we had booked a king..but it bwas fine.. Only real problem we found the bed...very very soft..too soft.. Room was clean & kitchen well equipped... Even tho' our room faced Grafton Street..it was quiet at night...and we slept with the window open.. Breakfast was ok..the eggs..not too sure about..a little weird.but lots of other things to choose from..but a good deal.... Read more

We showed up here in the middle of the night with no reservation because the Inn at St. Peter in PEI has parasites in the beds and we needed alternative accommodations. They welcomed us, upgraded us to a nice king room, gave us complimentary breakfast in the middle of the night and let us check out late so that we could catch up on sleep. The very best service!

It is hard to compare this with other places on PEI, because I have not seen others, but I think it should be torn down and rebuilt. The positive the staff is nice. The exchange rate at the desk is 1 for 1 when at at bank it is 1.25 for 1. Guess the owners do not want to exchange money for their guests. Their dinning recommendations are good. The rooms are old the building is old.

We stayed here for one night in June 2016. While the staff was friendly and helpful, our room was not worth the price. It was reasonably clean but had some stains / marks from years of use - the layout was strange, and the fixtures and finishing were very outdated. Our air conditioning didn't seem to be working properly (which we realized in the middle of the night when we were both completely overheated) - and overall the room needed a lot of sprucing up (or perhaps a complete overhaul). Stayed here for one night and while the staff are friendly and nice this place needs a real update. The rooms have a musty smell and compared to the Hamptons hotel which we stayed on our trip it's really outdated and more like a 1 star and was the most expensive! The only cool pet is the tunnel that connects the two parts of the motel together.

We recently stayed here over the Canada Day long weekend. What a terrible experience. The price was somewhat high so we were expecting a nice place. When we pulled in we entered into a dated, dirty, confusing establishment. They tried to put us in a room across the street from the hotel in what I can only describe as a college dorm. We pushed for a room with the main part of the hotel. The lady at the desk seemed annoyed, took forever and answered several phone calls while we waited in fro... Read more

Avoid this hotel if all possible. It is a total disaster. Staff are very friendly and courteous however the place is old and decrepit....should be bulldozed and rebuilt ! Arrived for check-in a little after 3 PM for a two night stay. Room was not ready and waited until after 5 PM to get our room. The room smelled bad as if someone had been cooking something and when checked by staff they confirmed it did smell. We were placed in another room however it was lacking upkeep maintenance. First off I want to say I have been to other Best Westerns all over and they have been fine. Upon arrival, our room was not ready and it was 2:30. Ok waited for 3. But we asked where our room would be they said lower level. I asked them to not put us in the basement , said that it couldn't be helped . Even though we were early they couldn't put us in another room . Upon entering the room I could smell a basement humidity smell . Awful! Looking around I noticed that there was only one queen bed w... Read more

I was a bit afraid coming to the hotel from the recent bad reviews.. And boy were they correct. We did indeed get a room in the basement, which they call the first floor, but is really the musty, drab basement. I know I was in the basement because our window faced the eye level view of someone's back yard. The room smelled so old that we had to empty half a can of febreeze in the room so that we could go to sleep. The bathroom was tiny and the whole hotel needed a desperate upgrade. Things weren... We had a suite with a kitchen, it was nice to be able to kick back and relax after a long day of shell hunting. The room staff were great to change our towels and just let us be. We could access the down town area in less than 10 mins, excellent location. Our room was on the 2nd floor. and parking was FREE The comp. breakfast was nice and changed about daily (we stayed for 5 days)

Night 1 - checked in with speed and a friendly front desk clerk. Our room was outdated, dusty registers and baseboards, and peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, I'm sure it was either a snot smear or other smear along the wallpaper. Appealing to the least! The hallways were musky smelling and our room was damp and humid. Probably more so because our lovely view was the pool. Hooray, no fresh air from a window! Day 2 - got woken up many times because you can hear the people playing and splashi... Read more

I've stayed here a few times with work and generally find it a pleasant stay overall. Staff around the hotel from front desk to house keepers are always friendly and helpful, which is a nice treat. The hotel has two buildings, a main one and a second building across the street that's connected by tunnel or by walking across the road. Rooms are fairly typical and have been renovated the past couple of years so they are fairly comfy. I don't find noise to be much a problem, which is comforting... Read more

At first we thought not bad, but when my wallet went missing, and I was only two places, left room to go to pool and later took purse with me to go across street to desk to see if there was a place to get dessert and walked back to around back of other side, My step daughter went over and asked if anything turned in, because gentleman was on the phone she had to write a note. Budget conscious will enjoy this. Many empty rooms so I recommend asking to be moved over to the other side of the street from the main building. The rooms are still dated but clean and we could walk underground to get to the main dining hall for free breakfast which was excellent (eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, etc). Downtown, numerous restaurants, Confederation Court Mall and harbour tourist sites are walking distance as is Hillsborough Square park (one block away) which has swings fo... Read more
