This is new hotel just behind the Shell station on the highway. Did not hear any highway noise. Everything was new so very comfortable bed, linens and pillows. Good shower. Breakfast was good. Scrambled eggs could have been better and they use the typical thin sliced bacon, overall, better than the usual continental breakfast. Compliments to having gluten free bread available.

Spent the night at this hotel as part of a 3 day biking event - was the best night sleep I had; and much needed. Got to Golden around 12:30; soaking wet...Hotel staff was nice enough to move rooms around to get the cyclists into their rooms to shower and change. Hot tub and pool are great - good for kids as well. Room was very clean and bed was uber cozy - I had a great sleep!! Breakfast had everything a person needs to fuel up and get going in the AM. This by far one of the better hotels we have stayed in awhile. It was very clean, beds excellent, front desk staff excellent. They made a mistake and checked someone else in under our reservation, but they made it right without much delay for us. They had a breakfast cafe that was not included in the price we paid, but they gave us 2 free breakfast anyway. It was a made to order breakfast. Yum! There was coffee available in the front desk area all the time and fresh flavored water. A lot ... Read more

This was our second and third stay at this hotel. Very nicely decorated, and great beds. An option of firm or soft pillows is a nice touch as well. The pool was at a better temperature this visit, I recall it being very cold on our first stay. The complimentary breakfast was great, and includes hot items like bacon, sausage, and prepared omelettes. These items plus the usual cold cereal and pastry options found in a typical continental breakfast. A couple more nice stays for us. We will... Read more

This hotel is definitely one of the best in the Holiday Inn family! very modern rooms, quiet AC, breakfast is as good as HIE gets, found it very odd that they didn't offer actual plates or glasses to cut down on waste. Pool was warm and the hot tub was great!

We stopped over here for a night. A relativrly new hotel, the place is clean and spacious. There're a couple of food outlets and gas station in the vicinity so that makes it convinent if you need to grab a couple of snacks. There's also a pool and fitness room. Clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast is basic but good enough. Staff could be more approachable though.

My wife and I stayed here the second night of our 3 week holiday. The location is easy to find and has several amenities close by. Hot Tub and pool was nice to relax in and the breakfast was a good start to the day. It was nice to have the coffee station separate from the breakfast area when you just wanted to grab your first cup of coffee in the morning. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would stay again.

Love this place which is well up to the HIE standard one would expect. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and variety. Friendly staff throughout including the chap that did the room cleaning. Pillows and bed comfortable, place is clean, room was very spacious and came with a safe. Pool was sufficient for a swim. Great job, you have restored my liking for HIE..... Thanks.

Very convenient on the Trans Canada Highway. Newly built with enthusiastic and responsive management. Gave discount because Hot Tub not working. Not near downtown feederies. But at the present time it is probably the best road house in Golden. Family management. The only down side is that it is located next to a dusty business which attracts "good ole boy" BC Interior types with dust-making SUVs

Stopped here to overnight on a cross country drive. It's a good, clean hotel. Room was quiet and beds were comfortable. The included breakfast makes for great value. The pool is basic, but kids still had a good time. I would recommend this hotel. I can't say much about the area as we really didn't explore Golden

Stopped for a couple of nights so we could explore Yoho and Lake Louise. The room was nice and had a bar fridge. Free breakfast in the morning was good. Hotel was a little pricy but in a small town with lots of tourists, in the summer, to be expected I guess. I'd ask for a room facing west otherwise you're facing the back of a gas station and the trans-Canada highway. Hallway noise was a bit much too but we were very close to the elevator. Might want to ask for one at the other end of the hall.

Staff were also wonderful to deal with & the breakfast was great with a huge assortment of items to choose from. The hotel was clean, quiet and conveniently located near the Trans Canada highway which leads to Lake Louise and Banff. Breakfast offers included pancakes, pastries and omelette that varied each day. Despite the hotel being full the breakfast area was never crowded and there were several seating choices available. Complimentary wifi was fast and logon was easy. Our room had a nice view of the Kicking Horse Resort area.

Spent two different evenings here on a trip through Briitih Columbia. The bed provide for a real relaxing sleep. And the bathroom had a tub to stretch out in to soak away the trip. The Holiday Inn Express in Golden is modern and great in almost all areas. The lobby is beautiful and contemporary. Although the printed signs taped to the door were a bit unprofessional, the blue accent lighting and high ceiling contribute to a modern, upscale ambiance. The pool was on the small side, but was fine if it wasn??t too crowded. The hot tub was out of service during our stay. The room we had was nice, clean, and modern. We stayed at this property as a stopover on our way back to Alberta from Vancouver. Very clean, modern, and very new. Our room was a good size, comfortable, very quiet, and had a lovely view. Free wifi. A decent breakfast was included and there was plenty of seating. It wasn't the most economical place to stay (we paid the same as we did for good accommodation in downtown Vancouver), but it was definitely a good choice and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We only needed to stay for one night en route to Vancouver. Based on my research, this hotel was the best open. It seems to be the newest. However, it has been well used by the looks of it. Decor is fashionable and appealing. Common area carpets are dirty, stained. Pool area is small, but water was cloudy and area smelled bad. Room was a decent size, semi clean. There was a very strange stain on the bed clothes---yellowish, crusty. My innocent young son said it was coffee. Let's go with that, bu... Read more

We spent one night here on route to Kelowna. We checked in around 3 pm and we were pleased with our third floor room. The room and bathroom were spacious. The towels were on the thin side but there were three or four of them. It was nice having a fridge and a safety deposit box. The breakfast that was included was not too bad. We paid $200 plus taxes which I guess is the going rate for high season. We drove to Eleven22 which is a great local restaurant in central Golden.

This is a very special hotel. For some inexplicable reason the decor of color and comfort makes me want to stay longer. It is the only time that an actual hotel room has made me feel this way. Since this is not a destination for me but a passing through hotel, it is unusual to feel a pull to stay only because of the room and view. It was Happy Canada Day weekend and we were tired after traveling through the traffic and looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub. .Hot tub was closed waiting for a repair part! The room was ok. Just decided to try Holiday Inn again after not choosing to stay with them again as the properties are never worth the price. Will not stay in one again soon. Chose this hotel as I had points to use. Would never pay $200 for a night at a Holiday Inn Express! The room was clean and quiet. The Holiday Inn Express in Golden is relatively new and is a convenient place to stay when either leaving the Canadian Rockies or entering depending upon where you come from. We had toured Banff and Jasper and then back to Lake Louise and then to Yoho and that's why we wound up in Golden for the night before heading south. As a town near the national parks, the rates are higher than you would expect, but less expensive than most places in the park.
