Properly is dated with cramped rooms, tacky decor and old amenities. Bathrooms are ugly but clean. Beds are smaller than advertised. TV is at least 15 years old. We got locked in our room because the deadbolt got stuck. No sheer curtains made the room dark if you wanted any privacy. There are at least 10 hotels in the neighbourhood and they all look so much better. Even though the property itself was a disappointment this place does have a ton of advantages. It is sandwiched between a Boston Pi... Read more

The staff and management are very helpful and positive in every way. To make each stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. The rooms are always cleaned and prepared very very well. I am convinced the excellent service is because of excellent management, from the top down. Each stay here is very positive and enjoyable. Don't be fooled by the low prices, this place is excellent and professional in every way. I want to meet the person who manages this hotel!!

Location is great, and staff are SO friendly and helpful. I have no problem with the old furnishings and decor, I expected that. The problem for me is the overwhelming smell of air freshener in the room which has set off my allergies and asthma. I talked to the housekeepers who were very apologetic but explained that they are instructed to spray it in every room. The front desk attendant was very concerned and tried to find me a different room to no avail. I left the windows open and turned... Read more

This property was listed with 5 stars in the Canada's Best Value Inn-directory-I had stayed at a Canada's Best Value Inn in Winnipeg that was really nice so I thought, why not, there was not much available in Calgary near the university owing to a huge conference in town. While the room was clean and offered free wifi and the staff was responsive and helpful, the cracked and dingy tiles and ancient fixtures in the bathroom and the '70s basement rec room decor complete with particle board pan... Front desk staff was very friendly, parking was free. Location was good, it's right off #1 Hwy. You could tell walls were pretty thin but had quiet neighbors so had no issues. Located right next to multiple restaurants. Gas stations nearby. The room is nothing fancy by any means but wasn't expecting much based on price. It was clean and that's much more important to me. Served its purpose, we only needed to stay one night while passing through. Had a fridge, microwave, free breakfast. Free WiFi... Read more

People who complain that this place looks "old" or whatever do not have their priorities straight. For the money, I could hardly have imagined a better experience. I stayed here three nights. My room was clean and comfortable. In fact the bed was very nice, and I don't usually make a big deal about those kinds of things. Staff were super-friendly and helpful. Wifi was fast and problem-free. Breakfast in the lobby was maybe a bit cramped, but only just so. The food...well, it's a continen... Read more

Large room, older facility, but clean. Shower has great water pressure and lots of suds with soap so seems softened. Convenient to great food places. Continental breakfast of assorted rolls, muffins, bagels, breads and cereal. Juices. Fruit cocktail and coffee also available. Staff friendly and accommodating. Located close to sporting venues, Olympic park and university. Outdoor pool. Wifi was quick.

Stayed there for a night in May 2016 and revisited July 2016. All the staff is lovely, very helpful, and welcome you like old friends. The room we had was a queen one, quite spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was quite satisfactory. We would come again without hesitation if visiting the area again.

My elderly father wasn't able to have a shower because there was nothing to hang onto for getting in and out, not even a soap dish. This would not affect 99% of people so I still rated it the maximum stars. The price and location were very reasonable. The Banff Trail CTrain is walking distance. We had 2 queen size beds. They had specific rooms for people with pets as well as people who smoke. I used the pool and it was clean and just long enough to do lengths.

It's a decent motel for the price. We were here for the Calgary Stampede weekend and prices were through the roof....about double the usual prices. Availability was limited and since prices were high..I looked into this motel. You get what you pay for: that being said, I don't expect a fancy room but our room did the job. We don't need frills when we travel; just a bed to sleep on. This motel was a bang for the buck. Affordable; free parking; a small continental breakfast, etc. It is only a ten ... Read more

Hotel staff was very welcoming and friendly. Room was spacious and clean when we checked in. If I had to say anything 'bad' it would be that you can slightly hear the people above you if they are running around in their room, but barely. If you're looking for a decently priced place to spend the night this is a great place to stay. Plus they have free breakfast ;)

Stayed for one night basically just to shower and sleep, passing quickly thru. Check in was very nice, the ladies working the desk were friendly fast and efficient. Room was okay certainly not the bellagio but clean and the bed was very comfortable. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. Enjoyed the pool area, as it was very hot when we arrived decided to go for a quick swim and enjoyed it. Good bang for your buck, payed more for our dinner next door at Boston pizza than we did for the... Read more

Sure, the place could use a good facelift. My room looked like it was decorated in the 70s. But, the bed was comfy and the room was clean, clean, clean, and that counts more to me than the décor. The front desk staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful. Added bonus was the continental breakfast. A great value for the money. Good water pressure in the shower too!

This hotel does not look very inviting from the outside - BUT - inside you will find extremely helpful and pleasant staff, very clean rooms, extremely comfortable beds, hair dryer, laundry and even a sewing kit for those sudden little miss haps! Our room was dated but spacious and included table and chairs. The shower pressure was great. Coffee maker, jug and irons were all available upon request, as well as tea, etc. A short walk takes you to the C train which takes you efficiently downtown. Th... Read more

We stayed here on many occasions and were given a "Hospital" rate since our daughter was receiving treatment. Did not find out until after staying there for 8 months in a row for 1 to 2 nights that Hospital rate gave you the rooms above the boilers. Even if other rooms are available, you still get the very hot rooms. Asked to be given other room but price went up out of our budget.

We only stayed one night... the room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, the microwave and mini fridge both came in handy, and the outdoor pool was awesome fun at night! There are also quite a few restaurants within walking distance so that was convenient as well. Staff was friendly and helpful!

We stayed at Canada's Best Value Inn for a week in July - it was great value & it offered everything we needed. Many restaurants within easy walking distance, a 5 minute walk to the Banff rapid rail station, and very pleasant and helpful staff. I would definitely reccomend if you are looking for budget accomodation in Calgary.

Well I thought it looked a little crackhousish but it was cheap ($80) and I must admit I had a pleasant stay. Staff were 5 star , the place was spotless. So despite the outward appearance I had an utterly pleasant experience. I would recommend a stay here , it's a cheap clean room with pleasant staff. Thumbs up.

The best part is that it's located in center of the city. They have all the amenities such as fridge, AC, LED, free parking and laundry. There are many food joints nearby and at walking distance. Even the railway station is in close proximity. It's really good for backpackers and if you really want to save money. What is pay is what you get...overall quite economical stay.

We were two families staying in two rooms connected inside like an appartment. There were no need to leave the building for visiting friends. That was convinient. Price was low, but after one stay it is even lower. We have a discount card of 15% in the chain of hotels, no AMA membership is required. Awesome. Air conditioner was noisy, but you get what you pay for.

Really good value for money, friendly staff at reception, comfortable & clean room, and free parking right outside our room door. Breakfast was a really good continental that came included in the price. Several restaurants on the doorstep so easy to get dinner. Only downsides, a shelf in the bathroom would have been useful, but that was only minor. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again :)

This is the cleanest place I have ever stayed and only stay here when in Calgary they even sanitize the remotes and do the hidden corners. The beds are super comfortable and staff are friendly. The rooms have all you need and we love to see which colour our fixtures are.. we have had pink and blue.. with a mix... It is not modern fashionable but eclectic retro. All items are in great shape and did I forget to say spotless... so nice to have a clean centrally located spot that does not break ... Read more

We have stayed in this hotel for about 5 nights before and during the Calgary stampede. We have been visiting places like Banff, Lake Louise and also Kananaskis Country area while we have stayed here. There was a free continental breakfast served near the reception every morning, also you could use the ice machine for free. Near the parking lot, you could use the heated pool since 7am to 10pm every day in case you wanted to have a quick swim or just chill. It was rather smaller one, but still ... Read more
