Older remodelled apartments, can't go on the balconies in the suites. Great soft comforters and pillows. Older rooms nice new carpets. Good variety in the free breakfast. Trying to park underground was a challenge key card did not work and I had to backup the ramp in an SUV. Staff at front desk were friendly.

Location is good for eating at the close trendier restaurants, and new GoodLife Fitness only a block away was very convenient. My room was clean, comfortable and the small kitchenette a bonus. However, the location also poses a problem in the evening for people wandering in the parking lot, drunk and loud. I checked out as scheduled at 5:30 am, and was surprised to see a large security guard at the entrance (for what I assume was making sure no unauthorized guests came in) No issues, and my ... Stayed here the May long weekend for my son's bball tournament. The free parking is a big perk. Room was clean if a bit oddly laid out but more importantly the bed was comfortable. Free breakfast was just ok -- pretty sure the eggs were powdered or if they weren't they were awful but the rest was fine. Is good value.

This downtown core BW is consistently top drawer. While a hotel of a certain age, it is well cared for and constantly being updated. Our room had marble counter tops through out. I appreciated the addition of a range hood fan in the room for those of us whom actually cook in the room. The room had been completely redecorated. Absolutely no surprises as usual. Check out the Japanese restaurant down the block ... one of the best in Calgary. Go left as you go out the front door. Walk halfwa... Read more

Being BW Rewards people, we were very pleased with the upgrade we received to the 2 bdrm suite since it was 3 adults sharing. The person we had at check-in was polite but more standoffish while the person at check out was polite and friendly. Our accommodation was acceptable with comfortable beds. The second bedroom could have used a TV. The bathroom could be enlarged as it really only accommodated 1 person at a time. The breakfast items were adequate. This hotel is one we would recommend i... On checking in we received a complimentary upgrade. Lovely start to our stay! The room had a kit here, separate sitting area and bedroom with a bath and shower. Spacious with great views of the city. Location great. Walking distance to shopping and entertainment precinct on 17th st. Coin operated laundry facilities on site which really helped us. Hot buffet breakfast included and free wi fi. Would definitely stay here again

Stayed in a King Room which besides being a bit dates was good option for my business trip. Room has a couch, coffee table, desk area and a comfortable bed. The hotel provides free parking for registered guests which is a nice perk in the Calgary downtown area. I always stay at Best Western when one is available where we are travelling to. BW has never let us down; be it Canada, USA or Italy. Yes Italy, we have stayed at BW in Venice and Rome. When we travel, which we often do, across country (or overseas) we always book in advance and have never suffered any inconvenience. When driving throughout North America we usually have our dog with us and sh has always been as welcome at BW as we are.

Beds in all best westerns are uncomfortable. Parking was included. The quality of food in the complimentary breakfast was very average.

The room was very spacious but the whole trip was spoilt by the atrocious breakfast. The room itself was tiny with lots of people crammed together. The food was almost inedible served on cardboard plates reminiscent of the workhouse. For the price they charge this aspect plus the indifferent attitude of reception staff made it overpriced. Our rooms were very spacious and we enjoyed having a kitchen, but the only major downfall was that the balcony door is permanently sealed and no windows open! This hotel is in a very good location - a few streets from 17th Ave SW where there are wonderful shops and restaurants, and it's very close to the Lougheed house. It's an easy 10-15 minute walk to downtown. The front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the breakfast very adequate, and our room very nice with a comfortable bed. We were on the 11th floor and had a nice view of the city. The cleaning staff could have done a better job in cleaning up ... Read more

Great hotel and a good value. This hotel is well located - closed to restaurants and shopping. Parking is free and either outside or underground - depending on the weather. Rooms are clean and well appointed. All in all - a great stay in downtown Calgary.

My wife and I stayed here on Oct. 22, 2016 and were pleasantly surprised by its location (i.e., even though you research the location on Googlemaps ahead of time and have a sense of where it is, you really don't get a true feel for the place until you're on site). From the exterior, the hotel seemed a bit dated, but the inside was very clean. We appreciated the fact the hotel offered free parking in downtown Calgary, so we walked around everywhere. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comf... Read more

Booked this hotel because we were coming to Calgary for a concert. I booked a wheelchair accessible room over an Internet discount site. Approximately a week before our arrival date, the staff at the front desk called me to make sure the room that they were going to have available for me, would suit my needs. To ensure that I was able to have a comfortable and accessible stay. This has been some of the most amazing service I have ever received from hotel services. Parking was easy and avail... Read more

If I had not been double charged and provided some sort of customer service this review could've gone a different way. I was completely charged the duration of my stay on the 5th November, no issue here and front desk clerk was nice. I woke up on the 7th and discovered there was another pending charge that had sucked up every last dollar in my account, this means I had to break my interest earning account to add funds, not impressed but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Spoke to front desk o... Read more

It is always a good stay and the location is perfect for w.me working downtown. Also easy walks to restaurants and entertainment. Staff are friendly and helpful which makes for a very good stay. I haven't used the facilities or eaten the breakfast but otherwise it is all good

Love being greeted by the smiling staff on the front desk. After a long day of sight seeing the staff welcomes us back like family!! We only stay here when visiting Calgary, the convenience can't be beat, close to restaurants, the downtown core, transit. The reasonably priced for a downtown hotel.

This hotel is conveniently located about 20 minutes walk from Downtown Calgary & only 10 minutes from the C-train, which provides a free service through the Downtown area. There is ample parking both above & underground. The staff were friendly & efficient throughout our stay & had helpfully e-mailed a map showing the hotel's location before we travelled. Our room was clean & comfortable with a good view of the Calgary skyline. The hotel has a small gym, which was more than adequate as I was... Read more

A super-friendly staff, comfy bed and tasty breakfast is enough to keep me coming back, but I also love the location and proximity to everything that DT Calgary has to offer. It's not the newest, shiniest hotel in the city, but it doesn't have to be to keep me happy and comfortable.

I have stayed twice at this convenient hotel located downtown. Considering the location, having the free parking is a bonus. The complimentary breakfast is decent too and it's nice to have that option while needing to eat in a hurry in the morning. The furnishings and decor are dated but the service is overall helpful and friendly. We stayed about a week and rates varied wildly from one night to the next for the same room as we added days on to our stay (I understand there are variances due to... Read more

Close to downtown, love the underground parking; breakfast is satisfactory but not the best I have had...though they do have fresh fruit, yogurt and various breads that you can toast. The breakfast staff is excellent.

Close to many restaurants, and shopping amenities Rooms are clean The free breakfast is a nice to have. Customer service was great I had an issue with the first room they gave me when I walked into it the bed was unmade and there were dirty towels in the bathtub It was clear this room had not been cleaned When I went down to front desk they were very apologetic and gave me a free upgrade They then checked once I went in new room to ensure all was satisfactory I have had this happen at oth... This hotel was absolutely perfect for our long weekend as a family vacation. We got the king-queen suite which actually had TWO separate bedrooms AND a giant living room with a full kitchen. We appreciated having a full refrigerator for cold drinks and leftovers. I am always worried when I go to a new location whether the area will be sketchy or not, but this was a fantastic location. We could walk to the train (10 minutes), heart of downtown (20 minutes) and even the Saddledome (30 minutes). We... Read more
