Comfortable, quiet, clean, and close to my destination and appointments in Burnaby. Great value for the price, but convenience stores are your only nearby dining option before lunch. Was given a room the size of a small bowling alley -- really too large for my needs. The drawback was the WiFi signal couldn't reach very far into the room, let alone anywhere near the desk at the far wall. The parking lot is small. I was driving a 12-foot rental truck, like a U-Haul. It wouldn't fit, and I had to... Read more

I love going to this place every visit to BC. Its a solid price with great location. Staff is always helpful if you need, rarely had any issues with anything anyway. Balconies if you want to smoke. Mountain views. Everything is local so if you need something to eat or drink or gamble its all right close. These guys are worth every penny. Wont stop visiting.

The room sucked. The beds were hard as rock. They said they controlled mattresses...lies My body still aches. There was no breakfast offered. No coffee pots in rooms. Minimal towels and wash cloths. Wifi was terrible. I won't go back. cheap prices for rooms, but you get what you pay for.

Having stayed at the 401 Inn for a month and a half, I am so happy to have the opportunity to help others chose the 401 Inn. We were looking for something that would accept animals and we needed to stay for a longer term (since we didn‚??t want to lease an apartment). Most important was to find something that was fairly clean. We were shown a room that was decent and the bathroom was one of the cleanest we had seen in looking at motels in the Vancouver area. We later discovered after arriving to... Read more

Smells like smoke, room wasn't clean, just all around nasty...hair inside the sheets, vanity not wiped, some substance on the wall like hair dye or vomit in the bathroom (I wiped it off easily, so it was not a stain). Noisy, even leaving out the traffic (I expected that given its location). The room and surrounding area to the building smelled heavily smoked in (bad for a fam with 2 asthmatics). We stayed less than an hour and got half our money back, which I admit seems fair. Staff was actuall... Read more

Only hotel with a room available for this night. Facilities are run-down. Location is terrible. Room was old and dirty. Bed and pillows felt like they were last replaced in 1973. Tub and shower were definitely the before picture of a C.L.R. commercial. Glasses were wrapped but not washed. No security lock on the door. Worst of all: the deep, set-in smell of urine (think stadium bathroom). TV and internet worked.

The room looks okay at first glance but after you really look around you see the filth. The floors were sticky, there was a crusty white stain on the side table next to the bed. There were sticky rings on the dresser, and the facecloth was stained. My husband found the alarmed security doors unlocked and open last night. He made sure they were locked and closed before bed, only to find them open again in the morning. Right outside our balcony there was a junkie hanging out and then we watched... Read more

The non-smoking hotel reaked of smoke. The wifi was abysmal. The bedding was burnt. The AC was nearly nonfunctional. To top that all off, there were kids selling drugs and prostituting themselves out of this hotel. It was so bad and they were so loud I had to leave in the middle of the night. This is not a safe place to stay.

As a grandmother, I stayed there with 4 of my grandchildren in a kitchenette suite for 5 nights......had to pay up front over $900 and was told no refunds under any circumstances.....I have to say, I was very disappointed......the stove wouldn't boil water, the fridge was caked with frost and froze everything, no plugs for any of the sinks or bathtub, hair dryer didn't work, bathroom door wouldn't shut and door handle was broke, no fire extinguisher, broken lock on sliding glass door(right next ... Guess thats how it qualifies: it is ok. Do not expect luxury, it is basic. The room I got was quite spacious, along the traffic side but this wasn't much of an issue. I had to visit downtown vancouver frequently, and fortunately the Rupert skytrain station is near which is convenient. Unfortunately, I think the place is rather expensive for what is offered. However, this seems to be standard in the Vancouver area as compared to other properties, the price was low. The staff was very friendly.

The room appears to be recently upgraded in the main room. It looked very nice at first glance, it was clean and the beds were comfortable. However the building needs maintenance and upgrades. The sliding door to the patio was placed in backwards and not able to open, but didn't close 100 percent either. And being an older building it isn't insulated enough to be quiet for such a busy intersection.

Booked in at advertised $110 per night, and realized after clicking that the non-refundable rate was quoted in US funds. That would have been fine if the room had been more than a bed, but that was all it was. The TV had no guide to the channels; there was no phone book; no coffee maker (coffee only in the lobby from 8am to 8pm), no ice maker, no drinking glasses in the room. No face cloths in the bathroom, just hand and bath towels. Shabby curtains had holes in them and did nothing to help muff... Read more
