I frequent the Vancouver area 6 or so times a year and often times find myself staying downtown on Robson or in Metrotown. I typically book at a property nearby but last minute travels had rates soaring so I figured I'd give this lovely new property a try. Pros: Location, modern design and in-room amenities, in-hotel dining options, clean and secure parking, friendly staff & SPG charm. Cons: My room (1012) was a Handicap accessible room so the shower head in the bathroom only went as high as ... Read more

The Element is quite different than the other Sheraton and Westin properties I've stayed at in that it has a very minimalistic style. The room was quite small but brand new and very clean. I though the kitchenette was a bit strange as its literally at the foot of the bed in such a small room. However, with a grocery store right across the street, it was quite handy. The fitness centre is just a handful of cardio machines but there is a 24hr Goodlife in the same building. The complimentary breakf... Read more

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We stayed for 7 nights in May so we had plenty of time to experience everything. Location: Located in Burnaby, we really loved the location. We were close to the mall (Metropolis), which was only a 5 minute walk. You can find the Skytrain there as well, so that makes taking transit very easy. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, including an Italian restaurant right below the hotel. My second visit, dramatic change from first. I chalked issues to facility being brand new on first visit. Access only off northbound Willingdon ave, down into large arrival parking area. Element hotels have no door assistance it's all self serve. Zero personality to desk staff, no eye contact, no emotion. Parking is extra $11 a day not previously explained. Limited spaces with multiple charging stations for Electric cars. Studio is a kitchen with a bed in it, tiny space & road noise is an issue... Read more

I loved my stay at Element. Me and my boyfriend were in town for a concert and just stayed one night. We were impressed by the clean modern hotel and what our room had to offer. We stayed in a king studio, and although it wasn't the most spacious room, it was all we really needed for one night. Thoroughly enjoyed the glass walk in shower and the comfy bed. One thing that really stood out was how dead quiet and peaceful our stay was, along with the great breakfast options! Hotel staff was welcom... Read more

We decoded to visit Vancouver for the Vancouver Beer Festival. We did not want to pay the prices for rooms in downtown Vancouver so we looked closer to PNE Fairgrounds where the beer festival was taking place. We decided on Burnaby and after a bit of research chose Element. At no point during our four day stay were we disappointed. First, driving from Seattle it's pretty easy to get to and if you want to book over to Vancouver t's about a 40 minute drive to Vancouver. We got to English Bay fro... Read more

A relatively new hotel on the scene, the Elements Hotel is a short two block walk to the Metrotown Mall and the Sky Train Station. A trip into downtown Vancouver is approximately 15 minutes. The hotel itself is lovely and with a decided European feel in the room design. I especially enjoyed the modern feel, the clean lines, and the lack of carpet in the rooms--bare floors are so much more hygienic. Rooms also come with a full kitchen including a generous fridge, stove, and pots/dishes/.cutlery. ... Read more

I have the opportunity to stay at this hotel on three different occasions, each for 4 days. The staff (all of them plus Kevin and Jon) are exceptionally service oriented and always make sure that my group and I were satisfied with the service. On my second visit they recognized me and gave me a great "Big Welcome back" every time after that. Even the staff during breakfast (which is very nice) recognized me. When I had a bad cold they wished me good health. The food was excellent.

Always looking for something fantastic without having to travel into downtown VanCity. This location is beautifully decorated and has a warming decor, great service and quite tasty food. It has a downtown VanCity feel but it's located in Burnaby!! Definitely one to add to my favourites!

Stayed 5 nights with no problems, shame parking is extra but otherwise would def use again! There is not a lot of choice to eat nearby but can soon get into Vancouver for food,

The hotel is in a busy, mixed-use neighborhood, mostly commercial with lots of condos and apartments. I walked there from the Metrotown Sky Train station. (Note: Metrotown Station was under major construction in May - with no elevator or escalator - which made for a difficult time with luggage! Get off at Patterson Station instead if taking Skytrain there anytime soon). Once I found the property - I couldn't figure out where the entrance was. We stayed here for a few nights on our recent trip to Vancouver. The hotel is located in Metro Town which is about a 20min drive from downtown, Richmond, and UBC. If you plan to stay at this hotel a car would come in handy for sure- note that parking is a reasonable $12 per day. One slight annoyance is the crowded elevators. You'll have to wait several minutes during peak morning hours. Our room up on the 17th floor had commanding views of the town below. We had a standard room which didn't ha... Read more

Very modern, clean hotel. Well appointed suite and comfy bed. Good location, very close to Metropolis Mall and Skytrain station taking about 30 mins to get to downtown Vancouver. Many places to eat within walking distance. Breakfast included and very good. Only criticism being that there was absolutely no tourist or hotel information details in the room. Our booking also said bathrobes provided but none in the room.

I've stayed at Element 4 times, 3x in Van and once in NY. It's so good. The rooms are spacious and clean, minimizing the space while still having a kitchen with a big fridge and separate bedroom. The staff is great, and the breakfast is SO GOOD. The hardwood floors are very unique in a hotel and the Element has a very modern, refreshing design. The pool is great, beautiful open space w/ windows and such. The Element is a great choice to anyone, anywhere.

The staff were very professional and courteous upon check-in and check-out, and the junior suite was great, if a tad crowded with furniture (we moved the accent chair so that we could open and close the curtains properly). Husband had to come to Burnaby for meetings so I came along. Very nice hotel, new and shiny clean. I like not having carpets in hotel rooms. Kitchenette was fully stocked with dishes, pans etc, nice fridge, dishwasher etc. Beds were really comfortable. Breakfast (included) has something for everyone. Cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, breads and pastries and warm breakfast wraps... yummy. Nice view from the breakfast room. also lounge area nearby to chill, read the paper or do some compute... Stayed here for 3 days as part of trip. Nice rooms: modern deco, laminate wood floors, good internet speeds. lovely view, pleasant staff, and surprisingly reasonably priced. Also right across the street from 2 malls!

Very clean and very modern, This hotel is new, elegant and comfortable. Fully equiped kitchen. Magnificent views. The only "cons": the breakfast room was not very comfortable, the elevators from the parking lot are different and distant from the ones to the room floors and the distance to the Vancouver city center.

This is my favourite place to stay in and around Vancouver. The staff is awesome, always. The rooms are always clean. Each room we have stayed in has a kitchenette and is perfectly stocked. It is perfect for long working weeks or weekends away with the kids. The views we have had are fantastic. Walking distance to Metrotown is also a bonus.

This was my first stay here while in town on business. The entire facility felt very new. The suite was great (clean, modern, and roomy) and the included breakfast had a broad selection in a nice open room with a view on the 5th floor. The area it is in is undergoing change, lots of construction. I suspect in another year this will be transitioning to a very gentrified area with more shopping and restaurants.
