We have currently been staying here for 2 weeks and decided to stay another 2 because we saw on here that the manager said you could get a fridge on request. We just wanted to let people know that this is not the case and have been told no twice and that you can only get a fridge for medical reasons. This is fair but we just wanted others to know so they don't make the same mistake as us. Everything else has been fairly good for the money paid.

My husband and I booked the Spruce Grove Inn for our skiing holiday. We took a bit of a gamble looking at the previous reviews on here but it certainly paid off. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was great. We booked a half board package so we had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The breakfasts from the menu were delicious and there was also a continental buffet and hot breakfast on most days which offered a wide selection... Read more

The moment I walked into the hotel I was greeted by a very unfriendly and abrupt hotel staff. They were not welcoming. I knew walking into this hotel it wouldn't be that great since it is very old and not very clean. The rooms were not clean, dust everywhere and I had to go and clean everything with lysol wipes! The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows so thin that I had the worst sleep ever. We told the staff that we needed the sheets changed and they did not do it. There is no fri... Read more

This is an older hotel but for the price we paid for, the room was quite spacious and clean. Staff were nice and prompt at bringing towels and etc. we requested. Few complaints include no fridge and slightly uncomfortable bed. About 10 min walk from downtown Banff, away from the noise. In fact, I would recommend choosing hotel AWAY from downtown especially during the peak season. I previously stayed at a different hotel right in downtown during the Christmas time, and I couldn't get a good nig... Read more

Spruce Grove Inn was a very nice place to stay. I like to stay out of the CBD so a lovely 10 minute walk to the shops was great. Staff were helpful, room was clean and very comfortable, and convenient that breakfast was included.

Look, there isn't anything I can REALLY complain about. Nothing went horribly wrong by any means but honestly, if you are going to stay in Banff, stay somewhere else. We were only here for one night but it wad enough... The hotel is very outdated. From the carpet to the bedspread it can do with a refresh. Its dark and a bit of a walk from the main strip... The continental breakfast was bland with very little variety (to be expected really with continental). but it took place in the hotel next ... Read more

The rooms are nice and ours had two queen beds, but a little "bare bones" with no microwave or refrigerator. A gratis continental breakfast is served next door. No hot food other than toast. The inn is located near the outskirts of downtown, a good walk if you are elderly.

There is air conditioning but it did not work. There was black mold in the grout in the showere. Long walk to the town. Good part was they had a good breakfast. I can not recommend this hitel I would take my chances on another hotel

We only had one night here so we weren't too bothered by short comings. The room was spacious, with TV, tea making facility, air con., hair dryer, table and chairs. Shower over the bath which is quite high if you have mobility problems. FREEWIFI and secure parking under. It's about a 10 minute easy, level walk to the town centre. The real down side for us was having to go out onto the street and to the Voyager Hotel next door for breakfast in an auditorium type room. A very ordinary cosmopolit... Read more

We booked 5 nights at this place, and were extremely dissapointed with the room. NO fridge, No microwave, and the whole place looked as if it required a complete makeover. The check-in was very poor, and slow. They didn't help us at all when we booked in. You had to go next door for the accommodation, just as well it wasn't raining, and the breakfast was just a continental all served on cardboard plates, and dishes. Not a very good advert for a beautiful place like Banff, which we really enjoyed.

Spacey and clean room. Quite busy at front desk for check in and check out time with only 1 person. Nice underground garage to park vehicle since street parking is so limited in Banff. Overall, had really good stay there for 2 nights.

The room was very basic. Tube screen TV, nothing updated since the 90's, no mini fridge. But it has all the essentials. Positives: it was cheap, there was free underground parking. Negatives: wifi didn't work and their was hair in the shower. My wife was not pleased. If I was doing a road trip with the boys, it would've sufficed, but for a newly wed road trip, probably not the best choice.

I was not impressed at all. The hotel offered nothing. The continental breakfast was in another building. It had no parking for checking in. It was very unappealing. The value is not there for the money. The location was at the very end of Banff Avenue and there are no restaurants near it.I would not stay there again.

Clearly the hotel is run on a small budget. Only one person on the desk at peak times, leading to a big wait for checkin. The room itself was fine, though sparsley furnished, with some low quality air-conditioning and antiquated tv!

If I'd had a choice I'd have stayed elsewhere. For starters it was a very long walk into town. The rooms are basic to say the least and in need of complete refurbishment. Meals were available in an uninspiring restaurant in the building next door.

this hotel was in comfortable walking distance to the township. the rooms were clean and tidy. the only odd thing was having to go to the next door hotel for breakfast, but it only took a couple of minutes and the breakfast was good and reasonably priced.

Then you see the "deco" Two plastic trees where dust has accumulated since ? ... Corridors are hedious, carpets stained and burnt, then you reach your 200U$ room. This hotel feels like a motel first night we were put over looking the parking lot, not much of a view. For about $200 plus a night it would be better if they give you hot breakfast, rather than the complimentary breakfast. Decided to extend 2 more nights, got better upgraded to the 5th floor with a much better view of the mountain with balcony. Standard room no big deal! When it's high season expect to pay that much.

The rooms are big and clean, the hotel breakfast is good food but it is in a conference room of the hotel next door. That's where the pool and everything else is as well. That's not a problem. I would stay here again. 15 minute stroll into the centre of Banff.

This place caters to a price point and that's why my corporate travel agent booked it. Cheapest place in town and the location, decor, wifi and amenities show it. All that being said I got what I paid for and the check in staff was efficient and friendly.

This is a basic hotel. The rooms are good and clean, no fridge, no doors on wardrobe, no safe for valuables. You have to eat at hotels next door as there is no restaurant. Within 10 minutes walk of town. There is a bus service from the door which is very reasonable.

First night we were put in a room right next to a service door that goes between the 2 hotels. It was so noisy, opening and shutting all night. Very bad design. The next day we asked to be moved which was accommodated and the next room was much better. Rooms were clean. Wifi was good until the evening time, then it was too slow to use. Location was very good. Breakfast very average. If it was cheap I would stay again for convenience and just request to be away from the service door

The breakfast included was 97% processed, cold food and was served in a warehouse-feeling conference room in the Voyager Inn. We felt like we were in an evacuation shelter being offered the bare necessities. Our opinions were shared as other guests funnelled through and offered wide-eyed looks of horror at just how comically low-end the offerings were. The room was clean and adequate. Got a standard room and definitely had a lot of space. Parking underground. Had a view of a cute courtyard. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Continental breakfast was included and my only complaint was the flimsy paper plates. It felt like we were using napkins as was not good. I would recommend bringing your own plates.

We were pleased with our accommodation and found our room spacious and clean. Complimentary breakfast was more than adequate with a nice variety of yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, toast etc. Couple things lacking were bar fridge and iron. For the time of year it was reasonable price. Liked that included parking was underground and accessible only to guests with the code. We would stay there again.

We were not very happy with this hotel. We did not choose it, it was part of a tour. The decor is old & worn out, it has a stale smell and the wifi was bad. There wasn't any in room safe or fridge, the pillows were soft & lumpy but the towels were very good, thick & soft. The location was a little far from Banff downtown, but in return, the place was really quiet. About 15 minute walk to the convenience store (IGA) and downtown. Check-in was smooth and the staff was really kind. Liquor store and a bar was located in the Inn, but didn't have the chance to visit. The room was clean and neat, and breakfast was nice. The hotel was average but was clean, comfortable with 2 double beds. Was with a tour group and the girl on reception panicked when we all walked in as 1 room still wasn't ready. The pool, restaurant and liquor store are in the adjoining hotel (Voyager) Situated on the outskirts of Banff with about a 30 min walk to the center or take the shuttle bus for $2 into town. Did get cookies and fruit drink in the room on arrival which was a nice touch.

Soft uncomfortable beds, slow Internet, no fan in the washroom, old box TV, no microwave, no fridge, breakfast in the next hotel ( Voyager Inn), the hotel is 3 levels but the ground level is level 4 ! So if your room number is 426 , you are not higher than street level. Between 7 - 8 am very noisy at level 4 , since the staff constantly slam the door between the two hotels. Price was more reasonable in Banff.

We stayed one night in this hotel [thankfully] as part of the accommodation provided by our COSMOS Tour. The room we were allocated was supposed to be for 2 people. This property is way overpriced and really needs to be renovated! The room we stayed in was a king supreme and it was so small you had to change in the hallway. We shared pool and sauna facilities with the hotel next door and it was a dump. You entered on the bottom floor of the Voyageur Inn next door and the floors are muddy and worn out. The cost of the room included a hot breakfast which again we had to go to the Voyageur and it wasn't worth the bother.
