The positives: -great spot, close to town, beautiful views of mountains/trees -pretty, clean hotel -very attentive staff -great restaurants to eat (we tried the italian one and it was amazing!) The negatives: -is it worth $600-800 a room a night? Nope. I don't know about you but I can definitely find a better way to spend my money. -They make you pay $25 to self park your own car. -They make you pay $1.00 ish to sit by the window at the restaurant (strange!)

This hotel (Castle) has to be seen to be believed. We were there for 2 nights. Our group had a scavenger hunt and you would not believe the nooks and crannys in this building. In movies you see all these European castles, well this is what that is. It is hard to imagine how this architecture was brought to the Rockies. The staff, food and accommodation were excellent.

We are from Fort McMurray and we stayed here two nights before travelling onwards. The Fairmont chain has been amazing through oit the wildfires in Fort Mac offering special rates at almost all of their Canadian locations. We very much appreciated that as we obviously would not be able to afford the hefty price it usually is. When we showed up they were expecting us (did that online check in thing) they waived our parking charge and treated us really well. We were travelling with a cat (someth... Read more

We just returned from a six night stay at the Banff hotel. We had one Fairmont gold room and one Fairmont gold suite. We had stayed there about five years prior and wanted to return with the entire family. We had called ahead to concierge to book activities for the week. Sadly, an email got lost and many of the details were left hanging. Spent a lot of time on the phone with them just trying to figure out where we were supposed to be when and other activities never even got booked. Then we... Read more

My wife and I spent the weekend at the hotel. The staff were amazing and very attentive, the food was good and although the rooms were quite small they were very nice. The hotel is walking distance from downtown Banff and there is lots to do. We would go back for sure. The view out of our window was spectacular. The mountains are just breathtaking.

I might be biased because I was upgraded to the Stanely Thompson room with the balcony... But I really enjoyed my stay ??? The rooms are large and clean. The beds are so comfy and the showers are surprisingly good for a 100 year old hotel. The staff is very helpful. One gentlemen found me wandering around lost and said I could follow him back. Another helped me pack my bags up the stairs to the parkade. Hint: get valet parking (the spots are very tight and far from your room) and get a map t... Read more

Fairmont Springs looks and feels like a fairy tale castle. We stayed there 2 nights and it was just not enough. It is huge, it is beautiful and the service is out of this world. We had suite with 2 double beds. we got the moutnain view but what gorgeous view. I could sit at the window with my coffee for hours. The amenities were luxurious, from toiletries to Keurig coffee maker. If I ever go back to Banff, Fairmont is the only place I will stay at.

We walked from Banff to the hotel, we were made to feel really welcome, the view from the room where we ate was spectacular, this area is reserved for people having afternoon tea. It was great to be shown the different teas on offer, lots of choice. Go with an empty stomach, you get two platters, one with sandwiches and scones, the other with cakes and some fruit. Cost was c.$40 per person but well worth it for the experience. Suggest you book, we got lucky as a table was free but don't leave it... Read more

The common areas are beautiful, the staff is wonderful, the food is good to very good, but the "deluxe" rooms are very very small and not particularly well appointed. There are lots and lots of tour busses. The prices are exorbitant, and then they add a "resort fee" whether you use the resort facilities or not. My advice is to have lunch here, but stay at the Rimrock.

This is a unique hotel which despite its age provides all the expected modern services. Nice rooms, but not large. Super service levels from ultra friendly staff. It's the stand out scenic hotel in Banff with magnificent scenery all around. It has + 700 to 800 rooms approx, so expect to get lost as you seek your way around. Very few properties are more spectacular than this rambling historic castle with stunning views over rivers, snowcaps and valleys, and with rooms and lounges so extensive that you can enjoy elaborate hiking trails within the hotel's corridors within. Be aware, though, that, as in many Fairmont properties, the services and facilities within this striking facade are very, very unreliable. Bell boys never brought my bags up to my room. Everyone knows the view and setting of this hotel is amazing, but what made our trip truly amazing was the staff. We asked a staff member directions to a place in the hotel. Instead of just telling us, he actually walked with us, rode the elevator to the floor and took us to the exact location. Every time we went to our floor we were greeted and asked how our day was and talked about it. If you can stay on the 5th floor, the Gold Floor, I highly recommend it.

This place is breathtaking! It's the site of the first National park in Canada with a fabulous history. Being a Fairmont property, you know you'll be getting excellent service. Of course, nothing is perfect and you always must take into consideration that people are still people. Our room is one of four signature rooms on the property and it's view is wonderful. This was not exactly what i expected. Maybe the best rated hotel of Banff, but to me more like a Disney Resort in orlando. The size of the hotel is enormous. Could hardly find my room, in a side wing of the hotel. The room, a suite we took, had a great view on the parking lot! Also it looks as if it has not been redecorated since the eighties of last century. For a 600 dollar suite, this is not what i expected. The Gym, the pool is good, nothing to complain about.
