On the surface a beautiful, luxurious hotel, however a lot of the staff are inexperienced. Instead of automatically giving you the best experience possible, they wait until you complain. As an Accor gold card number I stay at a lot of Accor group hotels, and you should not have to ask to be away from noise or have a view, that should be a given! First they did not have me booked with the lounge access I purchased, then they put us in a room immediately facing a construction site, incredibly nois... Read more

Stayed here for 2nd time after 2 years for one night. I was upgraded to the club level as a platinum member. Hotel is still as good as before. They acknowledged me as a return guest both on checking in and checking out. Staff were friendly. Had a lovely view of the river and pool from my room and not facing some condo constructions in the distance which is the case in the club lounge. View at the club lounge was much better 2 years ago before all these constructions. Room was still as luxuri... Read more

Arrived here late evening after a rushed connecting flight from Mandalay to Bangkok to Phnom Penh - we made it but unfortunately our bags did not! We had booked Club level and it was so nice to be warmly greeted and put at ease with a cool glass of Chardonnay. We had a lovely spacious room with a balcony and a view out over the river. We were here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There is an excellent Italian restaurant in-house (which I will review separately) and a really ni... Read more

Stayed here for three nights while at a conference. The lobby is impressive and most of the rooms will have a good view as the city is relatively flat. There is a small lobby bar with various daily drinks offers. A very decent buffet at the main restaurant and a quiet Italian restaurant with great service and cuisine. Solid wifi throughout the hotel. A real swimming pool, large gym and a massage spa that is excellent value. Overall a great spot in Phnom Penh, probably the nest choice there is ri... Read more

Truly Magnifique. The attention to detail by all staff was first class, especially Ms Vet in the main dinning area who ensured we had access to breakfast half an hour before the scheduled opening time so that my wife and I made our departure on time. The chef's in the Italian restaurant also cooked up a very special menu for us. Every single staff member - from the GM down, made this family holiday one to remember.

Our stay was so so pleasant, due on no small measure to the staff. We shall always remember the wonderfully personal hospitality shown to us by Ms Vannoeun, particularly, but also Ms Votey, Mr Hou, the young ladies who welcomed us to breakfast every morning, and the young men who not only arranged tuk-tuks for us, but looked after Marilyn who was somewhat handicapped and needed a walking stick. Special thanks to everyone. Bill & Marilyn

My brief stay at Phnom Penh was brightened up with this tasteful colonial style resort hotel with an impressive high ceiling. Mr. Sonen was particularly helpful for communicating our special request to another Sofitel Phokeethra resort that we were going checking in the following days on our itinerary. Surprisingly, the breakfast offered very good Chinese Dim Sum dishes. The location is superb.

This hotel is very new and beautiful. The lobby, restaurants, and pool are beautiful. Our rooms were spacious and well appointed. Overall our experience was very luxurious. We got rooms on the club level which included breakfast and free evening appetizers and drinks. Up at the club level, we had two exceptionally friendly hosts, Mr. Pheara and Miss Sucheat, who welcomed and served us well.

We are in Phnom Penh for a long business stay, and honestly, this is our favorite togo hotel! All the restaurants are great, the pool and spa is beautiful, and most importantly, the staff are all so helpful and friendly. We had dinner at La Coupole and had the most wonderful evening. Impeccable service, extremely attentive and very welcoming. We were served by Esther and she made sure our every need was met without us even needing to ask. The cuisine was extremely delicious and worth the splurge (expensive compared to other restaurants in Phnom Penh but reasonable to standard prices at home). Would highly recommend dinner here or at one of the other restaurants at the resort.

I stayed here for a couple of days.. The rooms are delightful but the air-conditioning is not quite up to standards as once the sun starts beating down outside the room gets hot although this might also be due to the fact that rooms have huge windows.. I did not try the restaurants as I was stuck in meetings most of the time but the staff were very helpful..

I was up here for a meeting as a part of education workshop, the hotel has an impressive design. It consists great senses of luxury. The staffs were well-groomed and professional. The downside might their service culture which they seemed to be not much care about the local guest. As I observed they are more friendlier with the foreigners but I think they should give equally respect to all guests.

The restaurants here are first class, particularly Do Forni, where we had a delicious Italian dinner and fantastic service from the chief Lay Naron and the rest of the staff. I've stayed at this hotel and reviewed it before. We love this hotel. The ambience, luxury, restaurants and spa were exceptional. The breakfast spread is simply amazing, not to be missed! True luxury in a city like Phnom Penh, the Sofitel boasts a great location even if not centrally located or in the tourist district. That having been said, Sofitel is next door to one of the city's latest shopping malls, Aeon Mall.

My husband & I purchased a Luxury Escapes package that had a lot of inclusions. We were warmly welcomed at the airport & checked in very quickly. Our room was beautiful, spotless & the bed, very comfortable (with an additional pillow menu) The Staff were so kind, and nothing is a problem for them. If you happen to be there on a Sunday, don't miss the Sunday brunch, it truly is an experience not to be missed, as well as the daily high tea. Very lovely dessert shop situated within hotel itself, it offers delicate pastry and dessert which we really like it. There are often different kinds of events and functions held in Sofitel so we would always drop by Chocolat to have a nice cake after the events.

The hotel is going for that old-school, colonial look, which makes for a lovely lobby and common areas. The rooms are dated and could use some TLC, but are ok. The beds are horrible, though! There were also some issues with dirty tablecloths and with the breakfast staff mixing meat with vegetables in vegetarian dishes. The problem here is the security. The hotel is in the middle of the city and has lots of entrances/open spaces. You have to walk outside to get to restaurants, the pool, etc.... Read more

This hotel is lovely in every way. The location is excellent -- close to the "must-see" tourist sights and within easy walk of a huge shopping mall. The rooms are attended in exquisite detail. Ours was large and luxurious, though the bed was a little bit hard, as are many hotel beds. Small detail! We often had the pool all to ourselves. Our only suggestion would be that they install a toilet close to the pool. The ones you now have to use are so far away, it's possible that little kids mi... Read more

One expects the quality of the Sofitel to be high but this was on a complexly higher level. It could easily be a resort hotel and im many ways is but with a luxurious touch. Location excellent with easy access to the tourist sites. Hotel staff couldn't do enough. A special mention has to go to Linda the breakfast egg girl. What great eggs and a great smile. I was surprised to see a previous reviewer did not recommend it for solo travel, as a woman traveling alone, I felt completely safe and secure in the hotel. In fact it was quite secluded so I'm not sure why she felt otherwise. I was sad to leave and would definitely recommend staying here!

Food is great. Service is individualized, they remember you. Thin Kunthea and Yit Kimlay in dining hall greeted me every morning with a genuine smile and with simple gestures, they showed me that they remember my preferred coffee or fried egg. That's the simple definition of great service. Also, the location of hotel is so convenient just neighbor of the best shopping mall in town.
