The hotel faces onto a busy street but is only a few minutes walk from the market. Otherwise the hotel is quite far from the rest of the sites but fortunately tuk tuks are very affordable and a great experience! The only issue was when my friend and I were walking back as it started getting dark and a guy followed us a block trying to sweet talk us. There always seemed to be a group of guys right next to the hotel. The reception area smelt awful every day we stayed there. Either very bad ventila... Read more

The Diamond Hotel was clean and well located- the market was only a 2 minute walk; turn right out of the hotel and right again to reach the market. The rooms were very spacious and clean but very dated, with mis-matched old bathroom suite and very old fashioned decor, but the rooms are huge and they did the job just fine. The breakfast was good; they cook eggs how you like them upon request, and the rest of the choice of breakfast was plentiful. A Safety deposit box is provided but isn't fixed... Read more

I stayed here while on a Adventures tour. I liked the location-very close to the big market and within walking distance of Wat Phnom and the river. The hotel itself is rather stark and doesn't have much ambiance, but it has advantages. The room was quite large and there was actually counter space in the bathroom to put our toiletry kits. Wi-fi worked in the room, but remember, this is a developing country so it's not perfect. The breakfast included an omelet station which was nice. Breakfas... Read more

This hotel did the job just fine, check in was friendly and fast as was check out. Rooms were spacious and everything worked fine in our room, yes the furniture is a little dated but so what ? Didn't experience the " damp smell " that everyone seemed to complain about and our towels and bed linens were fine. It is on a busy street but that didn't bother us really, we always seemed tired enough that street noise was not a problem. Breakfast was adequate with enough choices including an omelette s... It was certainly not the cleanest hotel I've ever been in. If you're into luxury, don't stay here. It is walking distance to the market, which was great. The staff were extremely friendly and there were always tuk tuks available to get you around. It's on a main drag, so it's not a quiet area. It was $3 and about 10 minutes tuk tuk ride to get to the river. I'd stay here again if I really had to, it's cheap, but it would not be my first choice. The breakfast was not very good either, but this is... Read more

I was on a tour and we all stayed at this hotel. Worst on the whole tour. Nice spacious room with a balcony. However- we could not get the light off in the room for most of the night, the sheets were stained, the air con didn't work and the next morning I woke up with bites all over my legs. The breakfast was nice and it was close to a big market but not worth the horrible night sleep.

Stayed here as part of an organised tour. The staff were friendly and helpful and as has been said before it is very close to the central market and not far to the main attractions on a Tuk Tuk which are very cheap. It is not in the best area and our guide warned us several times to keep bags and valuables close. The room was large but the smell was awful! The sheets and towels may have once been white but alas are no more. The towels are also threadbare. The attention to cleaning was very... Read more

The room was clean and noisy facing the main street (where the entrance is). Linens were clean but a bit stained and the fridge did not work very well. The location is about a 20 minute walk (1.2 km) from the river where the National museum, Royal Palace and many restaurant choices are located. Breakfast buffet was adequate but nothing special. Very average.

Short and straightforward feedback - I don't recommend staying in this hotel. The hotel is super old and stained, there is a terrible smell of damp all over, the bedding and towels are old and dirty. The area is not particularly pleasant as it is located near the market. The breakfast offers little continental food. Stay away from this place.

Stayed as part of an organized group. This hotel was the one we least enjoyed. The room was very big, a plus but looked very dated. Had to get maintenance in for the a/c when we arrived in room, Took them awhile to figure it out. Was located close to central market. Free breakfast was ok. Omelettes made on demand which was nice. Strong coffee but that is the norm in that part of the world. Friendly staff. Our biggest complaint was the smell that permeated the whole hotel.
