I recently had to travel to Phnom Penh for a medical check up for a student visa, which was terribly inconvenient. I was huffing and puffing about spending my precious free time in the big city, but when I checked into Circa 51 I almost changed my flight to stay an extra day. The location is perfect: the street is quiet, it is easy to find a tuk tuk but I never felt harrassed by them as is so often the case, the grounds are beautiful and I completely forgot I was in Phnom Penh. My room was stu... Read more

Set in a beautifully preserved old 60's villa, Circa 51 gives a glimpse into the Phnom Penh of old. The pool, shaded by surely the biggest banyon tree you've ever seen, is the perfect place to cool off after a day of sightseeing and Circa's location means that most main tourist sites are within walking distance (or if you prefer there are always friendly and reliable tuktuks outside). Great food and friendly staff make Circa stand out from the crowd!

We popped over to escape the sterility of Singapore for the long weekend - temperature is hotter than Singapore but humidity feels a bit lower. For the family and summer here the best thing about this place is the pool for us and the kids! Staff are always friendly and with the inhouse food we can get either western or asian food which is perfectly suited for us!

All the staff were as friendly, welcoming, helpful, efficient and kind as always. They made you feel appreciated and at home. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always enthusiastic. The hotel provides exceptional value for money. We had a great room with all of the really essential things that we needed - air conditioning, a mini bar and a safe. The room was kept cool enough throughout the night. The bed was huge and very comfortable, I slept so well without any noise or distraction. My ... Read more

It is my second time that I have stayed in this amazing property. Apart from the great location, the staff are very polite and willing to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. Great rooms, each individually furnished and a beautiful swimming pool complete with shading from mature trees. Highly recommend! Thank you staff at Circa51

My partner and I stayed at Circa 51 for two nights in June and were treated to a really enjoyable experience. The staff were all very accommodating and went the extra mile to ensure out visit was worthwhile. They helped with local recommendations for food, helped arrange a city day tour to all the major sights as well as cook an amazing breakfast. All this on top of just a really cool hotel! Make sure you check it out if you are in Phnom Penh.

We spent 4 nights in last May in the hotel and really loved it. The architecture, the high walls and the wonderful trees really give the impression of a cocoon, nested just outside the buzzing street. The staff and their family was super kind and welcoming, we really felt like at home. Definitely recommend.

This picturesque setting in the middle of the city was an absolute delight to visit. The grounds are beautiful and the staff absolutely fantastic. We extended our stay by an extra night. The pool is beautiful and makes a great place to lounge on sunny afternoons. Food with the in house service is good - a great choice between traditional Khmer food and Pakastainian. Room was clean, neat and well air conditioned. Only down side is that the hotel is currently under construction so be prepared as... Read more

Extremely friendly staff. Lovely pool and outdoor area. Wonderful location, walking distance to many great cafe bars restaurants tourist attractions. Tiled floors and wrought iron window features/covers are a nice feature. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was "ok" - nothing special, but sufficient for 1-2 nights. The rooms were pretty shabby, though, the pool was dirty and some of the single western guys that sit around the bar seem to be exactly the reason why the hotel has a sign at the entrance "we kick out all guest that bring prostitutes the hotel". The breakfast was pretty good, though and the location is also quite decent.

On first impression the decor is a little dated. We visited for two nights and the owner was really helpful with information and places to see and assisted with forward bookings. Staff looked after our every need . Cooking special Pakistani dishes for us to try. Ask for the Princess room.

Just spent a lovely couple of nights here and wish I could stay l longer! Very central location but down a quiet street so you have relative peace in the middle of a city. The hotel is a beautiful 1960s style building with lots of open space and a pool - perfect for the heat of Phnom Penh! My boyfriend and I booked the large upstairs room above the pool. There is a big, old banyan tree that overhangs the pool and the view is absolutely stunning (see photo) We thoroughly enjoyed our delicious br... Read more

We just stayed at Circa 51. The location is perfect to see everything there is to see in Phnom Penh : very central and close to areas full of restaurants, although it's very quiet at night. The place itself is very well kept, the rooms and bathrooms clean, spacious and decorated with taste. It would take very little to upscale the place a bit. But all in all, very clean, agreeable and quiet, not really on the brink of luxurious but not far either. Just the type of heritage places I enjoy. The s... Read more

We were so relieved to arrive at Circa 51 for the last leg of our trip. The staff were so inviting and throughout our stay, have continued to show warmth and fun. It's truly like walking into a distant family home. The hotel has charming rooms and feels reminiscent of the 1960's (so great!). The silk robes are a special touch. Thanks so much for a lovely stay, it's been swell!

A really pleasant, relaxed place to stay made even nicer by the charming Sererya and Rajiv and their lovely team. Rajiv has a policy of not welcoming (seedy) sex tourists, of which I was unaware but exceedingly grateful. Thank you for a very pleasant stay 'Mr Tom'.

Circa 51 offers a pleasant stay in the heart of the city. As we arrived, we immediately felt welcome. The reception area, bar and pool are really nice and the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The devils is in the details however. The room wasn't really clean, neither were the towels. Some areas, such as the hallway or the outdoor toilets were really dusty. Although the staff was really helpful, we felt they were a bit too "pushy". On arrival, they asked us multiple times if we could ... Read more

This was our first experience of Cambodia and it was so helpful to arrive at such a welcoming hotel. The Proprietor Rajiv gave us the blueprint not only to help us find our way around in a new city, but also to plan our next few days of travel. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we were upgraded at no extra charge. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We felt at home. We really enjoyed our stay!

Stayed here for three weeks and loved it. A truly unique experience - a wonderful space in the middle of the city. An oasis in the city, fit for a Princess, girt by tortoises. To top it off the kindest, most accommodating staff. Do yourself a favour and try one of Brok's cocktails - the best Mai Tai ever - or one of his own amazing creations.

We had a great time staying at this quirky, boutique hotel / guest house. It has a 60s style charm and the staff are very friendly and helpful... (Ask Sorya about the monkey dance!) I would come back for sure.

Stayed for 5 days for work and a little r&r. Staff very friendly and very helpful in organizing a trip to the province. Great restaurant menu - recommend the chicken Masala. They also organise some unique things to see and do, which I will try on my return. Overall a great experience

Visited Phnom Penh on a work vacation with my mom and stayed at Circa 51 one night. Staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating! We visited when the hotel was not busy and management offered us an upgrade on our room for a discounted price. We especially enjoyed meeting one of the staff members Sorya, and had an excellent breakfast the next day. Photos are accurate representations of the hotel. Would recommend!

A really really good place to start your Phnom Penh holiday At! Nice decor, fantastic pool ( chlorined) Poor breakfast but with ok coffee. Nice location, central market in walking distance so are independence monument and the Royal Palace. A little bit pricey when we compared other hotels but still worth it. We stayed at the terrace room overlooking the pool. A great BIG room with lots of Windows and the terrace. Nice French decor. Bed was very hard compared to Thailand and Vietnam thoug... Read more

This hotel is very clean, comfortable and has the friendliest staff ever. Manager Sorya was very helpful. I had an emergency and had to go to hospital and she was very accommodating with room and everything else I needed. I will never forget the great treatment was provided to us this place. Sorya went truly above and beyond to make us feel at ease and welcomed. She was also very helpful with booking day trips and recommending sights to check out in Phom Phem. Thank you.

We stayed here for our trip for two days. The staff were very accommodating and let us have late check in which was really usefual for us. The breakfast really sets you up for the day. Its a nice hotel tucked away from the busy area. You should get a tuk tuk from the hotel to see the sites. Thanks

I had a lovely time at Circa 51. It had all you are looking for in an accommodation far from home. It was quiet, clean and the staff were very kind an helpful. As a solo traveler I felt safe at this location, and I knew I could relax and take my time to enjoy my holiday! I had a late check-in, and as planed someone was waiting for me at the airport and everything went very smoothly. You can walk to most of the must-see places from this hotel.
