Great hotel, clean and spacious rooms. Extremely well-trained staff - friendly and professional. Dinner at the hotel was excellent - tasty food and great service. The hotel map and directions web page states travel of 30 mins to GIG airport (Rio airport). Based on 3 taxi rides at various times, would advise at least 60 mins to realistically reflect traffic delays.

We stayed at the Hilton in Barra De Tujica right next door to the Metropolitan Mall. What a wonderful experience. From start to finish we were treated with class and dignity. Our room was spacious and gorgeous. The breakfast was wonderful with so a great selection of food and juices. The rooftop pool was splendid. I will return to this hotel when I return to the area. We really enjoyed this hotel. The staff is excellent, and all the facilities are gorgeous. We loved the room, the lobby, the gym, the pool, the beach shuttle, and beach club (15 minute drive from hotel). All was very well-done! We had access to the executive lounge, and this facility was also top-notch. Great Caiparinhas and good wine and food.

Check in was quick, agent very nice and proactive on talking about restaurants etc. On check out staff surprised me with a birthday treat! This gesture really made the difference once I didn't felt like 1 more guest. Well, facilities are amazing! Hotel is very big, bar is great, I totally suggest stopping for a drink! Being a Diamond elite at Hilton, we were brought up to the executive lounge for our check in. The executive lounge staff was always helpful. They arranged for our pick up and return to the airport. I wanted to visit Rio but prefer to stay at a hotel away from the tourist areas. This Hilton met my needs perfectly. It is about 45 minutes from the international airport and it is about 35 minutes from the tourist area. My king bed was a little too firm for me, but I got a good nights rest. The room and hotel are very modern. It was nice to stay in a newer building. The hotel staff were very helpful and spoke perfect English. I enjoyed some live samba music at the hotel restaurant.

This hotel is one of the best I've ever visited (and I've been to a lot). We arrived relatively late (8 pm) and were whisked away to the executive checkin. We got a suite at a very reasonable rate, and were delighted to discover that it included two rest rooms (or whatever they're called these days). The room was spotless - the maid spent ages cleaning it every morning, and had everything you could want. The complementary wi-fi worked just fine throughout the hotel. Very well trained staff, seemingly very proud to work there and promote the Hilton brand. The quality of the finish of the entire hotel is unique for Rio where most hotels (even those of well-known brands) have a "cheap" finish if you look closely. Not the Hilton! It reminds me of a Conrad. We stayed for the excellent Saturday "feijoada". The bar food the night before was excellent too. The Sunday brunch needs improvement. The Metropolitan Shopping mall is next door.

The staff was very helpful and the room was very clean and quiet. I like the environmentally responsible atmosphere with lights that would go off if motion was not detected and the ability to pass on linen service to save water. Hilton Barra is a new hotel close the Olympic Park in Rio (15 minute walk). But I don't recommend walking to OP because of the strong foul smell from the lagoon and a creek. You can even smell it from the pool area on rooftop. It is impossible to avoid by walking. Due to its newness, the hotel is clean and modern and hip. You can expect the usual from a better Hilton. Good to have more international hotel options in Rio de Janeiro. Would rather have them in Leblon, Ipanema or Copacabana, however. Hilton Barra itself is a fine hotel and enjoyed the suite that I received as Diamond member. The location is convenient for the business around in Barra but not for sightseeing. I had to go to control and it took an hour each way by Uber. Liked the service at the Executive lounge. Employees were mainly from other local hotels that had decided to work for Hilton.

Agree with everyone about the level of service, the food, the wonderful accommodations, and the generous and beautiful public spaces. It is near a nice shopping mall where we can walk easily and grab different types of food in the food court, enjoy a nice movie and shopping. The hotel offer the best swimming pool with the most exuberant view of Rio de Ja... Read more

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the entire staff of Hilton Barra Rio for making our stay there so special. My deepest gratitude for making my birthday there so memorable. I'm very touched by the attention the hotel team has given me and my spouse during our days in this hotel. Of course I'm very thankful for the birthday cake that we shared with few people at the executive lounge, the birthday wishes in the card along with champagne so thoughtfully left in our room that... This hotel was fantastic in every way; great food, service, efficiencies, cool pool/hot tub. If you don't want to stay in the heart of Rio, this is the place for you. Close to shopping and restaurants and in a very safe neighborhood. Seemed close to transportation also, although I did not use public transit. Loved it!!!

The hotel is brand new, nice design, clean, decently located. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff. I stayed for a month with my wife and dog. The staff went above and beyond, especially with my wife who was new to Brazil. You will not find better service in any hotel in Brazil, full stop.

The reviews do not lie. I've been to Rio numerous times and have not stayed at a better hotel. It may be a little out of the way for a Rio first timer, but I drive when I come, so it does not bother me one bit. The mall across the street is a short, safe walk, even at night and has a Lojas Americanas (to stock up on snacks and water) and a food court for days where you don't feel up to touring the city. Definitely get the package with breakfast. It is absolutely wonderful and the staff at b... Read more

This hotel is modern and beautiful, and the staff throughout are friendly and helpful. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast offerings are delicious and with good variety. The downside is that the location is far from tourist sites and there are few restaurants nearby. Unless you are driving (and I recommend against that unless you are an experienced Rio driver), you face at minimum a 20 minute cab ride to get to good restaurants. There are some good places to eat in the Metropo... Read more

We stayed 2 nights at this new and fantastic hotel, and enjoyed every minute. The location is not ideal, but there are shuttles to the shopping centers and to the beaches, that makes this fact meaningless. As a Four Seasons "fan", i use to think that there is not a level of staff that you can compare to to the level of staff at the Four Seasons, but sometimes i am wrong, and this time i was very wrong. The staff at this Hilton is a m a z i n g!!!First of all i would like to mention Mr. Albuque... Read more

Beautiful hotel located close to conference centre. Staff were fantastic, and the food and drinks were delicious in a beautiful restaurant and bar. The ambiance and facilities were everything I could hope for. The main downside was its about a 45 minute taxi ride away from Copacabana, and not much to do actually close to the hotel itself.

We spent 5 nights at this hotel and as the subject lines says it is one of the best Hiltons we have stayed in. The restaurant was very good for dinner and breakfast. The executive lounge was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough for you. The roof top pool was like a warm bath that meant it didn't feel like you descending in to the arctic. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a huge comfy bed. We found it easy to get around by car and reach most of the sights easily.

This hotel is excellent in every way. It is pristine; facilities are top notch; staff couldn't be nicer; breakfast was to die for; executive lounge was very good; and the room was very comfortable. We especially appreciated the separate shower with handheld.

This Hotel is fantastic with one minor issue which is the location. Location is very safe but there is not much in walking distance. Taxis are safe and take you easily to beach, shopping, downtown, etc. The hotel itself is in all aspects 5 stars. Very clean, great amenities and service

This hotel was highly rated on TripAdvisor and that is why I selected it for my stay in Rio. Needless to say my stay at this hotel was fantastic. This is a brand new property that is well maintained and is located next to a shopping center (shopping, movie theatre and restaurants). The staff is wonderful and are some of the best that I have seen in my 40 years of travelling. Everyone was top notch. I would gladly stay here again.

This hotel is new, clean, modern, classy and the staff is friendly. It has all the makings of a five star facility with a few "buts". The hotel is located in Barra across the street from a large mall and not far from Olympic park. I assume this hotel and area were built for the olympics. The hotel does not offer currency exchange or an ATM which really bothers me. Most hotels in rio offer these services. Yes there is a mall across the street that offer both services but it is really inconven... Read more

This hotel has a modern look. The lobby has a great bar area and it is decorated with large and comfortable chaises, a big video wall and it has a luxurious feeling. The room I booked was spacious. It was complete, with a L'occitane amenity kit, Nespresso machine, large bathroom, bold shower. The room floor was all carpeted. It had a king size bed, a mirror wall beside the bed (perfect for a couple) and a large window with a beautiful view of Jacarepaguá lagoon.

I've been a Hilton Diamond member for years but this place was wonderful. The hotel is still fairly new and nice rooms, good food, but everyone that worked there was better. I can't say enough nice things. The guys helping us organize trips to the wait staff in the restaurant to the guys welcoming us outside to the room service. They were all great.

I loved property itself. Design in earthy colors is modern and calming, spatiousness is also very nice, in contrast with Rio itself. Guest rooms are very comfortable and quite. Swimingpool rather small for hotel size. Breakfast was excellent and with lot of healthy options. Personel is efficient, friendly and professional. Yet, there is something missing in overall strive to excellence. I suppose its because they are new property and need to find proper spirit. Location is great for Barra but ve... Read more

I have stayed at a number of hotels in Rio over the past seven years. This was my first time at the Barra Hilton. You will not find better service or a better maintained property in Rio. From check-in to check-out, every employee we encountered was anxious to help. The breakfast is outstanding and comparable to the best Hilton buffet breakfasts in the U.S. and Europe. i have often used Hilton Hotels so choosing this was quite a natural choice. They arranged the airport transfer, though the taxi company let us all down so the hotel made up for it by offering me a free lunch or dinner. It is a lovely hotel, fairly new, away from the centre and in a quiet location. Free shuttle buses run to beautiful beaches ( and a mall if you really need one). My whole stay was just lovely. It was stress free as everyone was so very kind and helpful. Going the extra mile to m... Read more
