I had a very bad experience here with not only the management and the loss of a reservation but also found the room that I had to pay extra for was unclean, very small, a view of a wall and furnished poorly. I didn't stay more than an hour and found a clean hotel just down the beach. Not only did they lose a reservation but they then charged a no show extra charge through Expedia. I went back to discuss with management but they were unaccommodating to say the least. It was actually the manag... Read more

Ideally located between Copacabana and Impenema Beaches. Arrived early in the am and was checked in by staff immediately to a room that was available. The room was clean and comfortable. I wouldn't recommend more than two occupants to a room. Mini fridge is provided in room however, be aware you will be charged at checkout for items consumed. A/c and TV worked well. There is a business center on the 10 fl with 2 computer terminals and a printer. The pool area and gym are small but they were neve... Read more

Great location across from the beach and reasonably priced. Front desk agents are very slow with check-in and more interested in convo amongst themselves. The room was really dusty and the shower had lots of mold/mildew. Beds are OK and the water is hot with good pressure.

the great location between copacabana and Ipanema beaches, beachfront, in a safe area was why we picked this hotel. we went for the carneval so the prices were high. and the amount they charcged to push in an extra bed in our small room was outrageos. but then again, location.. from the rooftop sundeck you have a great view of the beaches, the sugarloaf, forto de copacabana and the neighbourhood was safe enough to go running in alone. overpriced food/roomservice but nice beakfast buffet.

My wife and I booked this hotel for a romantic get away in Rio through booking.com. we selected this hotel specially because of the location and the hotel facilities. On the booking website, the first thing we saw was the pictures of the hotel, swimming pool, gym, etc. Although we had other cheaper hotel options we picked this one because all the facilities the hotel had to offer. Unfortunately to our surprise the whole top floor was under renovation. All these facilities we were hoping to enjoy... Read more

January 2015. This was a great place to stay for a short visit in Rio! The rooftop sundeck with the pool and gym is excellent after a sweaty run on the Copacabana beach which is right next door. Also the view from the sundeck is great! Staff was friendly and helpful with bookings etc, although sometimes things progressed quite slowly. Food at the hotel restaurant for lunch was nothing special, but breakfast buffet was superb with plenty of fruits etc. besides the basic breakfast stuff. Rooms we... Read more

Just spent six days and five nights at this wonderful property and I hate to leave! From the moment I arrive everyone here has "gone the extra mile" to ensure I had a great stay. After an overnight flight from Atlanta I arrive here at 11 a.m. The amazing staff immediately got me into a room with a breathtaking view of Copacabana Beach. The room was comfortable and immaculate. Everything worked properly and I had no issues whatsoever. I had a queen bed which made for a great night's rest after... Read more

This is a great choice, My son and I stayed for 9 day/nights and the rooms were always cleaned, breakfast was always great. Our cameras, ipads, and cash were safe in the room safe. The staff was very accommodating. During our stay the rooftop pool was not open. That was disappointing because I didn't know prior to booking it.

We stayed in this hotel for our first two nights in Rio as we wanted to explore the Copacabana neighbourhood before moving on to central. We stayed in a superior room, and it was perfect. Lots of space, very clean and well maintained and amazing view of Copacabana beach and Sugarloaf mountain. The bed was comfortable and it was very quiet so slept well. There was a lot of variety for breakfast- warm and cold foods, as well as healthy fruit and yogurt and fried/sweet things. We did not stay in th... Read more

Great location, very close to Ipanema. The staff offered late check out upon arrival, which was a great treat. The room is pretty standard and the bath is ok. On the downside, the pool area in the rooftop was closed for maintenance, so we were not able to appreciate the view from up there. Overall, good quality/price ratio. As a side note, I wouldn't recommend sitting for a beer in Copacabana; way too much vendors getting in your face all the time.

I stayed in the hotel for 5 nights during my stay in rio in which time every day the staff at reception were always so friendly and helpful. Especially marcus on reception who went out of his way to make my stay comfortable and gave me a beautiful sea facing room. I had a terrible propblem where my passport was withheld and i missed my flight to colombia. During this time marcus and the team really helped to calm the situation and spent well over an hour, emailing people and making phone call... Read more

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel. It was perfectly located right on the beach and very central to everything. We had an awesome view from our room. The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed. Marcus on reception was so very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good with a large range of hot and cold food.

Hotel was excellent value for money, in the best beach front location in Copacabana. Hotel was clean, staff were pleasant, polite and professional. Breakfast was great as were the few meals we sampled. View from the roof was outstanding, great pool to cool off in with a waterfall which added to the atmosphere, pool side service available upon request. Staff were happy to book trips to explore the area and booked a taxi to the airport for us upon departure. Drinks from bar were reasonable and the... Read more

By far the best value hotel on Copacabana beach. View is better from the roof than many of the 5 star hotels. Great location convenient for both beaches and local restuarants such as TT Burger and e-clipse. Staff are very professional and helpful. Rooms are clean and well presented. Highly reccomended.

We stayed at the Orla, and had a standard room. It was very small, bed was uncomfortable, and there was little to no room to move around in-- and the view was awful. It was facing inward to other buildings where you could see other people's windows (personal preference I guess). But we went down to the reception and everyone there was very friendly and moved us into a waterfront room immediately! The bed was much more comfortable and there was much more room to move around. We had no other... Read more

I booked after reading and doing my homework where to stay using Trip Advisor, So I booked through here and linked to Book it. I searched and booked my room and advised I would like a room with a view. Upon showing up I was greeted by a tall business manager type. I do not recall his name but speaks English well. I was given a room without a view at first and after a quick call was immediately fixed right away. Got settled in had a great view with the olympics being set up all over the main road... Read more

I was excited to visit Rio during the Christmas holiday which also happens to be my birthday week. When we got to the hotel, the lobby was very nice looking and I just knew when I got to the rooms I would be amazed... after all, the site I purchased this hotel from, said it was a 4 STAR hotel. The concierge told me that he was giving me a good room- I would hate to see what a bad room looked like. The curtains had mold on them, the shower - was clean but needed to be updated a bit, There were tw... Read more

My overall hotel experience at the Orla Copacabana Hotel during the 2016 Rio Olympics was greatly enhanced by the amazing service from the front desk attendants (particularly Marcus) and from housekeeping. My review gets a 4 star rating, one whole star for service alone. Otherwise, the hotel is more of a 3 star hotel. The amenities included free wifi, rooftop pool, workout room, and breakfast buffet. The wifi worked really well throughout the hotel, including in our room and on the rooftop. Alth... Read more

It's perfectly located at copacabana beach and a short walk to arpoador and ipanema beach. Good restaurants around. Go try TT burger. Our room was good, the shower was really good although sometimes the temperature wasn't stable. The service was so kind. Beginning with Flavia from reserves, Marcos at the reception, everyone really polite and ready to help. A tip: check the hotel site for reservations, they always have promotions. We got an upgrade and late check out ;)

The hotel is located in an ideal location in Copacabana beach which is very close to Ipanema beach & Forte de Copacabana (Copacabana Fort) as well. Direct beach access, many restaurant options are the advantages. The breakfast buffet is also good. Wifi is fast & OK. Staff was also helpful. Only drawback was slightly small rooms.

The location of the hotel is definitely the major attraction to this hotel. It's close to Copacabana and Ipanema so it's easy to reach both areas. The view from the swimming pool area is amazing. The hotel itself is ok. The rooms could use some refreshing. The noise from aircon outside could be quite annoying. However, everything is still working. The wifi was great. The breakfast was really good. There were great choices from local food to western food. The fruit was the best part, fresh and ... Read more

Excellent top class shower! Smallish bed & room but comfortable. Sauna not working or merely mildly warm? Great views of The Copacabana Beach. Extensive breakfast buffet (but not on Saturdays when eggs, fruit salad, breads are missing) and nearby al fresco restaurants are popular and not so expensive. Great location south end of Copacabana and north end of Ipanema. Metro is about 10 minutes walk away.

We had an amazing time in Rio. We stayed at Orla Copacabana Hotel. Except for the fact that our room was facing the roadside instead of the beach and no ramp for handicap as my husband is disabled, our stay was very good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean although the passageway was small. The hotel is bang opposite the beach. There was a room for internet for everyone. Avoid ! Breakfast is big but very poor. The staff are quite rude. The sun deck is nice, but the staff hover around (manically cleaning and re-cleaning) and you cannot relax. The pool is deceptively small. Don't believe the pics. They don't offer you drinks at the pool area unless you speak Portuguese. Don't bring guests back. They will not allow access. This is more of a convent for nuns than a modern hotel!

The Orla is a good buy along the Copacabana Beach. Clean rooms, nice roof-top patio overlooking the beach, friendly and helpful staff that speak English. My wife and I stayed for a few nights just after the 2016 Summer Olympics. Despite busy tourism the Orla felt comfortable and accommodating. We asked the front desk for help a number of times and they always took good care of us. Most important when you don't speak the local language.
