Great for the price (provided you don't go to Rio for carnival - where the price is cranked up - but that is the case across the city!) Basic room and very basic bed. Large TV - which we didn't use very much. Good wifi. Breakfast was very standard - nothing special - and we were disappointed to learn this was not included in the room price. Overall - good value for money though!

This hotel is very clean, good bedroom, near the subway. I just don't like to pay separate bill for the breakfast. It was good, but I would prefer if it was included. They have dinner and good beer in the bar.

Good, but WiFi did no work fine. I had to go down stairs in order to work with my lap top. This is one type of problem that makes difference. Some times it did work, most of the time it did not work. Hope things get better.

Just to list a few problems: The room smelled like cigarettes, the toilet was leaking, the room next to us was noisy, the furniture was worn out and dirty, as were the walls. On top of that, the blanket had not been washed and the service was a disaster. The employees were with such a bad temper that it seemed to me that they all hate working there!

The hotel is well-located (close to the Carioca subway station and many bus lines) and the services are pretty good. There is also a taxi station right in front of the hotel. The quality of the meals and the breakfast is excellent, and the majority of the staff members are available to help you everytime you need. The exception was the Wi-Fi connection, since the speed was very low in one day and the service was unavailable in the other.

The Ibis Centro is good if you need to be close to the very center of the historical Rio de Janeiro. It has a good price for Rio high standards. It is clean and very functional for a business trip and a short sight-seeing travel week,

The service was bad, the receptionist at check in greeted me with bitterness and sarcasm. On the last day I requested that woke me at 4:00 AM, the front desk simply forgot almost lose my flight. Many machine noises upstairs on Saturday afternoon.

Not a great experience but the bed was okay and the room was clean. Very few staff members could speak English, they weren't able to answer some of the most obvious questions a tourist would have . . . Asked where the closest ATM was and they sent me on a long walk down the street when, as I later discovered on my own, there was one right around the corner! They only provide one small piece of soap for both the sink and the shower, 2 towels total with no washcloths, when the maid came in to mak... Read more

I stayed at Ibis Rio de Janeiro Centro during the Olympics Games. It´s a good hotel, near from the Carioca´s subway (around 4 blocks away), although it was a little bit scary during at night that we took a taxi to get back to the hotel. The hotel is reasonable!

Just to emphasize...this is not a luxury hotel but really a value budget hotel. So everything from decoration to amenities is very basic and minimal. If u need to be pampered, this is really not the place. But if u want just a clean room with all basic requirements, this is a great option. First, price is very good in the standard of Rio. I stayed during the carnival and it is still acceptable. The food is very good and in big portion. Staffs are all pleasant and helpful and they are so ... Read more

I booked this hotel for my stay during the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Summer Games. I found the price was expensive for what this hotel actually offers, but also understanding this is peak travel season with a worldwide event going on. It was an easy walk to/from the Carioca Metro Station. Checkin was good and the room was okay. Very basic. Smaller than I am used to as this was my first stay at an ibis hotel. It was clean. The bathroom was also very small and a touch of paint wouldn't hu... Read more

Too expensive because of the Olympics, fair installations and services, dedicated employees. I lost a Rio Card (for transportation), one of the employees searched in the garbage containers and found it. Remarkable!

Delivers what is expected from Ibis worldwide - comfortable, modern, clean, with food and beverage available 24/7. Wifi could be faster though. One thing seriously concerned me though - I lost my key card a couple of times and the Reception replaced it without asking for my ID. That's the kind of negligence that is not easy to overlook

If you need a place to sleep, this is the right spot. It's affordable and "ok" to stay. Is in Rio's downtown, that is not a safe place to walk at night, but you can always catch a cab. The room bathroom has only a shower and the vanity products are not the best. It is a economy hotel, so don't expect too much.
