Location is spectacular - views of the ocean from every room - truly oceanfront! Super clean rooms, comfortable beds, great "space" in the room, bathroom, even the closet is well-planned. Front desk staff is so helpful, knowledgeable, friendly; servers in the restaurants know the menus well and are available without "hovering." Food is terrific, creatively-prepared, beautifully presented. The beach is well-maintained, and there are kayaks, snorkels, etc., to help explore the clear, pristine wate... Read more

I just returned from The Reefs Bermuda on a weekend getaway with my friend! We had an absolutely wonderful time. The room was ready when we arrived and the front desk was friendly and accommodating. We got in around 9:30 pm and their food service ended at 10 pm but they kept the kitchen opened and made us a pizza, which was delicious! I did think it was strange the the hotel does not have room service but I guess that is also why the rooms and property are clean and smell good. Our room was pool... Read more

Going to an Island, you want to be on the Beach! Not many of the resorts on Bermuda offer a private beach that the hotel is on. Many are located a shuttle bus ride away from your room. Making those sunglasses you forgot or suntan lotion you forgot an agonizing retreat away from the beach and beach chair you were so fondly lying in. The Reefs is on the beach. So is their Coconuts restaurant! It really doesn't get more perfect than that. They have a nice infinity edge pool that overlooks fro... Read more

My wife and I were looking for a few days away and settled on Bermuda - a very short flight from NYC. We picked the Reefs and it was just what we hoped. It is right on the beach, offered good food and has a friendly staff. We arrived around 1:00 and our room on the Cliffside was ready. We checked into our room which was perched up on the cliffs and looked out on the ocean. We had a side porch which was lovely although we didn't use it much. First time at the Reefs, 3rd time in Bermuda. Beautiful hotel, fantastic beach, outstanding food. Great place for a honeymoon, or a getaway for couples. Outstanding accommodations and beatiful views of the ocean. Wouldn't recommend it to people with young children. That's why I gave it a 4.

The sign on one of the buses sums it all up. I quote "if you see someone without a smile give them one of yours". This sums up the attitude of the island and of the hotel. Friendly, warm and welcoming. Always greet you when entering hotel with a smile and always know your name. Cannot do enough to help you. Rooms large, spacious and spotlessly clean. Beds changed every other day. Fantastic views. Do beware there are an awful lot of steps everywhere, not the sort of place for wheelchair ... Read more

Way overpriced for what you get. Very dated, small room with obvious water damage in the ceiling, loud AC unit, and our "king size" bed was actually two mattresses pushed together, pillows not comfortable. We did have a great view. Service was average, at best, particularly at the outdoor bar. No service offered at the pool. (Disappointing considering 17% gratuity is automatically added.) Service at Aqua Terra and breakfast was much better. The hotel property does sit on a beautiful beach, cry... Read more

We stayed at this hotel because my husband had a conference. It sits on a spectacular setting. We had a spacious room with a view of the ocean, but the room was dated and is in need of a redo. I could say that about most of the hotel, it needs a make over. The staff was very pleasant and prompt. There is a lot of walking down to the beach and back, and the pool is small for the hotel. But Bermuda is beautiful.

The hotel provides everything you'll need if you don't want to leave the property. 3 very good restaurants, a private beach with kayaks, snorkel gear, paddleboards, chairs, umbrellas and towel service. The beach is gorgeous and well maintained as is the pool and whirlpool. The room was smallish, well furnished and for the most part- clean. We took part in all and enjoyed everything. Rooms were modest but comfortable and offered great views from cliff side rooms. This was a lunch only stop. Lunch is served near the beach at "Coconuts". Very dramatic setting. A pleasing menu and attentive staff at fair prices. The Reefs has lovely views, a great beach and good food but is unfortunately let down by its service. We stayed for 10 nights in a cottage and didn't feel like part of the hotel. If I could give this hotel 3.5 stars I would. The views, the location, the rooms, all were very nice and top quality. The service however was quite bad, likely due to understaffing of the resort on a holiday weekend but it showed. At check in we were greeted with a much needed cool towel and a "Rum Swizzle" a local Rum punch type drink. Very friendly staff and we were given lots of leaflets, tourist information and timetables to look at our leisure. We had booked a cliff view room, which had super views over the sea and beach. The room was well laid out, separate bathroom with a walk in shower, his and hers sink, toilet and large wardrobe. the bedroom had views to the front overlooking the sea and beach and our room ha... This hotel was the perfect choice for our honeymoon. All I wanted to do was lay on the beach and drink cocktails for the week and this was the place to do it. The beach was absolutely beautiful with crystal clear water, pink sand, and best of all it was a private beach. Since it was a small hotel, there was always a lounge chair available. The hotel service was great too. Prior to our visit, they emailed us and asked if we had any special requests. My wife is gluten and dairy free so I asked if... Read more

I love this place and we celebrated our 20th anniversary here. It is cozy and intimate and the pool overlooks the beach, which is pure and non crowded. The water is clear and its secluded. You'll want to hit the pantry at Henry The 8th nearby to get snacks. The fish tacos are amazing and they bring food from Coconuts to the pool or beach. No extra charge for snorkels or little kayaks and canoes. The spa is fantastic. Only down side is the wifi is rather poor. I'll stay again for sure!

I think I can say Bermuda is my favorite island after vacationing there a few times. I've explored the island on my prior trips so now when I go, all I want to do is relax on a beautiful beach. I love the Reefs because it is a beautiful Bermudian property with a lot of character, great service, and a gorgeous beach. The beach is beautiful, calm, not crowded, and the hotel provides snorkel equipment to check out the fish along the reefs just off the beach. The breakfast that is included in the ra... Read more

The Reefs is a full service, unique niche hotel in that paradise called Bermuda. We were married in Bermuda 30 years ago, and we were time share owners at the St. George's Club down there. So we've been to Bermuda a dozen times and selected The Reefs to celebrate this special anniversary. It is a magnificent setting, groupings of rooms nestled along the cliffs right on the ocean. The management was wonderful to us, upgrading us to an ocean view room and sending a bottle of wine to our room! The ... Read more

We stayed at the reefs for our 30th anniversary. The staff and amenities were perfect. We can't wait to go again!!! The service from the minute we arrived, the staff was super helpful. The food was great and our room had a nice view. We got lots of help with reservations and travel around the island.

There are a lot of positive and "not so positive" things about this hotel. We chose the Reefs because of the location, private beach and boutique style. It is not a hotel in the grand style as the Hamilton Princess. We arrived early and check in was quite easy. There are changing rooms available down at the beach, so i would suggest packing a "beach bag" if you have an early arrival time. The beach is for hotel guests only, so there are no big crowds. You can snorkel right off the beach and ther... Read more

This was our 21st visit to the Reefs over a 40 year period. Even though it is bigger and a little fancier it was still wonderful. It was so nice to see so many staff that we remembered from the past. The food was excellent in both restaurants on the premises. The week there went too fast. My only complaint are the guests that reserve a chair by the pool then go down to the beach for 1-4 hours. With there being only 14 chairs it is very inconsiderate. Can't wait to go back.

We have stayed at this resort for the last two years. It is a wonderful place to be. I love the small intimate nature of The Reefs. I think the service is fantastic and everyone who works there couldn't be more pleasant. The beach is great The restaurants are wonderful. I don't think my twenty somethings would be happy there but couples and empty nesters this place is perfect!

My husband and I stayed at The Reefs in June 2016 and had a wonderful time. The views from the resort to the beach are fabulous, as was the view from our room. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly and we were impressed by how hard they all work. The breakfast buffet was good as were lunch and dinner. We did find the food to be pricey but it was the same all over the island. The location was great and we walked or took the bus most places and did do a taxi a couple of times. Defi... Read more

Extremely nice and very friendly staff at the Reefs. Also the number of return guests is very high. Thus making it a place the guests want to return to many times. Also their e-mails and notices after your stay are not annoying! Rather they are helpful and spaced just right.

A very overdue review. I went to this resort over a while ago and it's still on my mind. Fabulous rooms, location, restaurant and staff. I've traveled all over the world to many fine resorts. The Reefs stands out in my travels as one of the best resorts. They have a beautiful white sandy beach. A fantastic place to visit.

Second time in Bermuda, first at the Reefs. It was a special occasion for us, and the Reefs were kind enough to give us the room that some here on this site suggested we ask for... #316 Vertigo. It has to be the highest Cliffside room on the premises, yet still is relatively close to the pool and dining areas. Being the highest, the views in this room were virtually full on two walls, with views that together spanned almost 180 degrees. Once we were able to close our mouths from the room vie... Read more

I was in Bermuda for a 2nd time (2nd year in a row) and I typically stay with my Dad and his wife in their timeshare in St George. This year I wanted to stay for a couple of nights somewhere that was dreamy and resort like. And The Reefs did NOT disappoint. From every single aspect of my stay, the rum swizzle upon arrival to the infinity pool to the staff to the room itself, it was truly, truly spectacular! Oh and the private beach! I look at pictures, and it literally makes me sad. Nevertheless... Read more

This was our first time in Bermuda. We told the folks at the Reefs we wanted a room with the best view possible, and our Cliffside room did not disappoint. The water was the most beautiful shade of aqua blue, and we loved watching the waves splashing on the large rocks just outside our room. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the food was great. Hurricane Nicole hit a few days after we arrived, and we were impressed with the way the staff handled everything. I would definitely recommen... Read more

Prior to departure, I received several emails and phone calls trying to upsell a transfer from the airport to the Hotel for $ 100. I declined each time and finally ignored the last ones. The cab fare should run about $48 from the airport. Check in was friendly and efficient. We had a cliffside room with marvelous view. Room condition was fair. Door was worn and loose and rocked back and forth on deadbolt each time wind blows. One night the wind got fairly strong and the door sounded like ... Read more

On our 6th trip to The Reefs in Bermuda, we were greeted by some of the same wonderful staff members, who greeted us with Rum Swizzles on our honeymoon 25 years ago. The service is great, the ambiance friendly and homey. The best thing about it is the view of the beautiful beach and aquamarine ocean from each room. The next best thing, besides the staff who are most helpful, is the chef in the main dining room. The Reefs is located between Hamilton and the Dockyards if you choose to leave thi... Read more

We have visited Bermuda many times over the years and this was the first time staying at The Reefs. The property is simply gorgeous with views from every room. Suggest asking for a 2nd floor room for the best views, or one towards the end of the cliff. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful, the breakfast was terrific, and Coconuts is the place to be in the afternoon as it is beachside. There are many chairs and umbrellas at the beach so there is no reason to rush early to get one. The po... Read more

Bermuda Island is a little piece of heaven and The Reefs helps make it that way. Sitting at the top of cfliffs at oceans edge, the guest rooms/suites are situated down and along the sides. Everyone has ocean views. Great swimming pools too. Each of the restaurants serve excellent meals ranging from formal to casual to take out. The people are so friendly and courteous you would think of them as family. This is a place for enjoying the best of life at a reasonable price. Saty for at least 1 week ... Read more

I was spoiled to stay at this lovely hotel with a private beach and a gorgeous inifinity pool overlooking the Atlantic. The sand was beautiful and after visiting a "public" beach at the Dockyards where I had to pay $5 to sit on glass and cigarettes and garbage.. I would recommend the splurge and staying here. Don't miss the afternoon tea with beautiful scones and Chantilly cream and the breakfast waffles.

We stayed in one of the clifftop rooms overlooking the private bay. We were lucky with sunshine every day. The room was lovely, although we didn't like the step down in the room to use the sofa or balcony, as it was too close to one side of the really comfortable bed. The food was great and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially since my husband wanted a particular newspaper, which they then had printed off for him as there wasn't one available. My wife and I were a little worried about Bermuda weather in late November, but we need not have. We were at the Reefs Wednesday to Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. As always (this was our 9th trip there), everything about the visit was excellent. Needed a chill-out long weekend and boy did we get one. The accommodations were excellent, the food in each of the two restaurants (Coconuts - lunch only this time of year; and Ocean Echo) was amazing, with even a turkey/ham dinner on Thanksgiving.
