We chose Coco Reef primarily for the location and it was ideal: situated at the eastern end of Elbow Beach, the setting was idyllic and only a ten-minute scooter ride from Hamilton. We were also very close to all the south shore beaches (Horseshoe Bay, Church Bay, etc.) Every room at Coco Reef has a water view, and it was amazing to wake up and see the turquoise ocean outside the sliding glass door. But the rooms are really in need of an update. The bedspread was faded and pilled, the toilet flu... Read more

We traveled to Bermuda as a family and spent four days at the resort. This was the first time my brother and I had been to Bermuda. My parents have been 3 times before, always staying at Grotto Bay. Thoughts on first arriving: The resort is pretty, somewhat outdated, but it does flow well with the Bermuda culture. The young woman at the front desk was nice, however I don't think I saw her smile once in the 4 days we saw her, and she was very indifferent to us being there. The wait staff were ... Read more

I have just spent seven nights here with partner. The hotel has vistas over the azure Atlantic Ocean. Indoor dining or outside. The reception area is OTT glitzy, mirrors and gilt, which worked. Outside is over different levels, down to an okay sized pool - long enough to get into a swimming stroke - and then steps down to the beach. There is a caddy vehicle to take those with mobility challenges through the grounds to the beach side, but still steps to manage down to the actual beach. Happy hou... Read more

I traveled to Bermuda to celebrate my birthday. This was my first visit to Bermuda and I had no idea how expensive the hotels there were. Luckily for me I found the Coco Reef!!! This is a small, boutique resort (sort of) and it offered a warm & welcoming room with an ocean view patio!!!! The pros: -easy access to the beach - a few steps out my patio and I'm there! Breathtaking views!!! -hotel was extremely responsive to my needs (shower part broke off) -housecleaning services outstandi... Read more

We stayed at the Coco Reef for 6 nights and with just a few minor changes, had a very enjoyable stay. The room originally had two double beds, which after minutes they graciously changed to a King. We were located on the 1st floor, but simply due to privacy preferred the 2nd floor, which allowed us to keep the curtains open 24 hours to enjoy the oceanview. In both respects, the staff were extremely cordial in making these changes and all done within one day while we were on a Tour of the Isla... Read more

You can't beat the view and the beach. This was our 2nd trip, 18 years ago it was called the Stonington. The rooms were nice, needed some minor updating. The food was good, but expensive, as most of Bermuda is. Has a fresh water pool as well as access to Elbow Beach. If you like taking long walks on sandy beaches this is the place.

Look no further for a great place to stay while visiting Bermuda, especially for anyone looking to not be in the heart of the most popular places, or be around all the families. Do not get me wrong, anyone could stay here and be happy. I just think it is the ideal setup for someone looking for more relaxing atmosphere, around adults and not being overwhelmed. The beach (Elbow Beach) was spectacular with a nice setup; the food is good; the rooms nice and clean; courteous and helpful staff. It i... Read more

Absolutely stunning views from our ocean front room. Well worth the upgrade price. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly . Steve was the best, rest I didn't get on first name base. This hotel was so nice and clean. I spent a week there with my birdwatching mother to see the long tails. The people were so friendly and helpful. Vince the hotel manager, visited with us like old friends. Norma who served us at the hotel's restaurant has been there for 29 yrs. That alone says a lot about how great this hotel is. The setting is spectacular. We paid a little more for an ocean front room and are glad we did. Every room has an ocean view and friends were also pleased with their room at the top of the hill. We went here the day of my birthday. The setting was so beautiful and the beach did not get very crowded even when the sun came out. The lunch included was good but more options would have been nice. If you are planning on drinking it is very steep for alcohol but my margarita was one of the best I had and not made with cheap tequila. It is a great day to spend off of a cruise ship without huge crowds like that of Horseshoe Bay.

The resort is on the small side, which for me was perfect..I had a beach front room which meant I could go back and forth to the beach quickly. Catching up with good friends is a must and an old friend and I decided to meet for breakfast at Coco Reef which was formally known as The Stonington Hotel Resort. So what if the decor is gaudy and uninviting and reflects little of the character of Bermuda? So what if the paintings leave one with the impression that only Cubans can paint and that there are no local artists worthy to be hung on those walls? We didn't go there for the decor, we went there for breakfast. The place was scanty - not... Read more

If you're looking for a beautiful beach and amazing views this place is to be. My fiancé and I booked our trip last minute because other plans fell through so we had zero time to plan anything. You can take taxis or the bus anywhere (you'll save a lot of money using buses). The taxis are pricey. Nice beach, but the hotel lacks staff and facilities. You are handed old beach towels at check in, and that summarizes the experience: you are on your own. No staff to assist at the beach, no activities and no equipment, not even a snorkel mask. The hotel rooms are functional and ugly. Old tub bathrooms and Days Inn decor. The owner apparently put money into the lobby, which is spectacularly hideous and non-Bermudian. Breakfast up to Radisson standards.

This is a resort for people who like to just be left alone as there are few staff and you will rarely interact with anyone who works there. Honestly, I dont mind this but some of the reviews seemed to think this was a full fledged resort. I had alot of fun here and the breakfast is very good. I would definitely recommend.

I am not that impressed with Coco Reef. The two rooms that my family had were very outdated. The serves was not that great, and the staff was not that friendly as well. Also when I went in the pool it was very hot. I enjoy warm pools but this was extremely warm(it was almost like a hot tub). The only good part about Coco Reef was the beech.
