Awesome hotel, great staff, beautiful beach and amenities. Only one complaint-please do something about the huge GREEN Roof that can be seen from the balcony of the Concierge Level and rooms facing that area. It looks dirty and does not represent the hotels level of class. Beautiful balcony views of the Bermuda beaches and multi-colored ocean, then you look down and see a dingy, stained, Green outdoor carpet on the roof of the entry level area. Why isn't white like the rest of the rooftops i... Read more

This is the best hotel in Bermuda. The rooms are recently renovated on the lower floors and are bright, airy, clean, modern, with beautiful view of the beach. We stayed in a corner room with an ocean/beach view on the 1st floor and the room had a fantastic wrap around balcony. Really fantastic room with beautifully appointed furniture, a very comfortable king sized bed and a spacious and modern bathroom. The hotel grounds are very large and we took a hotel bus to go to the beach and the Marina R... Read more

The very best thing about the Fairmont is the gorgeous private beach. You have to take a shuttle to it which I thought would be annoying, but was not so bad. Our room was really spacious and that was a great thing-- there were three of us and they provided quite a comfortable cot so we had three separate beds. A few cons: the shower pressure isn't the best (at least in room 5588) and if you're at the back side of the hotel-- while there's still a water view-- it's where the hotel's deliverie... Read more

Fairmont staff was very professional, helpful, anticipated my needs. Restaurants very VERY expensive - recommend you eat off the property. Private beach nice, but skip it and head over to Horseshoe beach (entrance adjacent to the parking lot where the Fairmont shuttle lets you off at the beach). Hotel is close to Lighthouse and fantastic railway trail - ran and walked the trail several times during my 5-day stay

I stayed at this beautiful hotel during a business trip to Bermuda in early May, tacking on a couple vacation days. All the rooms have a small balcony with a table and two chairs, which is a delightful amenity. My king bedroom had a view of the lighthouse and water. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows and nice, smooth-feeling sheets. I was in a room that had been renovated recently. The hotel personnel were very helpful and friendly as were "regular" Bermudians who I encountered o... Read more

First let me start with an stament. Bermuda is a wonderful place. Beautiful, amazing, relaxed... You are going to love it! As it goes to the hotel, do not expect a beach resort. It is an antique furniture hotel. Tips are mandatory at 17%. Three times I got service that was very bad. The last time I requested to have it removed from the bill. Front desk staff was not friendly. We did not get the room we reserved and we had to move the following day. Again, people not friendly. The beach they h... Read more

This hotel has many good points: the levy per day is good value for the ferry to Hamilton and the buses to the beach and around the estate. Some of the staff are exceptionally friendly and really make the stay. We had several problems with bookings for restaurants not all of which were dealt with particularly well, but Mike McGuire at the Waterlot Inn was an exceptional example of customer service and ensured our trip ended on a real high note. I would not recommend Bacci, but the Waterlot Inn... Read more

We enjoyed the beautiful hotel and many restaurants, ferry and beach. The hotel provides a shuttle to the different sites on the property. Our room was very comfortable, I loved the walk in closet and double sinks and the fact that the bath and restroom are separate by a door from the sinks, so it's easy to get ready in the morning. The pool was warm and relaxing. We enjoyed a cabana down at the beach, which was wonderful. Along with the cabana came cold wet towels regularly, fruit skewers,... Read more

Beautiful, festive lobby with a great bar. Staff is eager to please and so friendly! We have been coming to the Southampton Fairmont for years and as far as we are concerned it is the best stay in Bermuda for families! There is plenty for the kids to do, a game room, hamburger and coffee bar. The beach is easily accessible by a quick shuttle ride or easy walk if you want! The Fairmont is one of the island's only large resorts that has a lot of onsite amenities. By far the best thing about the resort is the BEACH. While it's small, it is possibly one of the nicest beaches in the world and certainly on the island. The hotel itself is slightly older although the rooms just received a really classy, modern renovation. Rooms are quite large and they are very comfortable. Bathrooms are excellent as well. Returned last week from my first visit to Bermuda. A few observations: HOTEL: *Beautiful, well-maintained and well-managed property. *Generally speaking, the staff couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating. *Gorgeous private beach only a couple of minutes away via shuttle bus down a relatively steep hill. Walk to-and-from beach is certainly manageable, assuming you're not loaded down with beach gear. *Beach can get relatively crowded, with lounge chairs lined up close to one another. N... Read more

6th Floor Fairmont Gold lounge, concierge - you could check in and never leave that floor, and feel as if you have gone to Heaven. But if you do venture out, the shopping onsite is wonderful, the beach superb, and the variety of restaurants was incredible. Whatever you wanted to eat or drink - seafood, Italian, local fare, steak artisan dishes, regular burgers - they've got that. The spa was relaxing, pools wonderful, and golf course challenging and beautiful.

Just came home from a marvelous stay at the Fairmont Southampton.. Funny way to start, but we have never slept so well as the bed was absolutely divine.. I never slept like that anywhere. It wasn't a sleep holiday, but did that ever set the tone.. Just a wonderful stay, with every staff member greeting us meticulously every day, and whether a day at the beach, or in town and back for dinner it was a great stay. The food wasn't all 5 star but that wasn't our expectation... we just loved it..

Spa day for the moms was great, golfing was just right. Baby sitters at night so the younger set could go out. Family rooms for the sons, daughter-in-laws and separate connecting rooms for the kids. Easy shuttle to the beach or to bus to navy yard. Rented pontoon boat , we all fit on 14 . Very memorable trip. Easy flight from Boston

It runs regular shuttles to the beach and the quay as the hotel is perched up on a hill. This also gives the most beautiful views of Bermuda. Bermuda, as the locals will tell you, is no longer reliant upon tourism as their primary "export." Now they are a tax haven for corporations. However, natives still treat visitors with respect and hospitality, and that says more for their culture than anything else. Branded institutions can give you a great experience, but it is ultimately an overlay: a veneer. Formica over chipboard. In Bermuda you will find under the branded experiences, a population of kind and laid back people. Last ... Read more

This is the second time that I have stayed at this property, the last time was in 2007. Some of the rooms have since been renovated, ours was, the freshening up is appreciated ! We were there for a conference and everything went off wonderfully. My only complaint about this property concerns the elevators. I don't mind taking the stairs but I would recommend that the stairwells be freshened up. Great food, wonderful staff. The beach is beautiful !

The pool was very nice and at a temperature to jump right in. The private beach was difficult to reach on foot, but the shuttle buses were frequent. The Fairmont SouthHampton has one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The ability to have chair and umbrella service, go snorkeling and look out at a most beautiful beach and feel the softest sand anywhere was such a treat! Beach and facilities at the beach very good. Staff were very good and generally friendly although we did come across a few who were a bit grumpy. Lets start with price. Bermuda is expensive in itself. Therefore, the hotel/food is going to be double the expense! Being from NYC, I am used to high priced but Bermuda was on another level. It seems that it must be attributed to their cost of importing. We visited a local supermarket which confirmed our pricing suspicions as everything was very expensive there [4 bread rolls=$5, Juice=$8, Small tin of cashews=$8, Grapes=$10, etc]. I like to first post what I felt were the negative aspects for the hotel since the readers are more concerned with those issues: First off the decor, though in reality it doesn't really make a difference to some. When you walk in it feels like you're going into a nice ski lodge in the NorthEast. Dark wood everywhere, the lobby, bars, etc. It's overwhelming but really doesn't affect much. we've been here many times and always left happy. I wish I could say that this time but I cannot. Things need an overhaul and better management in the restaurants. Spa was below par. Restaurants ran out of food. Just so disappointed. No desire to return. Will go to another hotel in Bermuda

The room was very comfortable and we got a good price. The hotel needs an update. It was convenient to have the scooter rental on site. It was quite far from Hamilton so to go to nice dinners or shopping it was a $20-22 taxi ride one way. There was a ferry to town that only went twice a day. The staff was not clear about the schedule. The way it was explained made us think it was a shuttle operating between 9am and 4:30pm rather than just twice a day. The staff was ok but they never volunteer... Read more

The best part of this hotel is the beach. You do have to catch a shuttle from the hotel to the beach (which are easy to catch), but it is worth it. The hotel's beach has some nice snorkeling (we brought our own equipment), but the public beach next door is one of the most gorgeous beaches on earth. As you walk along it, you find cove after cove of rock formations surrounding pristine and secluded beaches. Expect resort prices at the pool and hotel restaurants. The frozen dark and stormy drinks ... Read more

Maybe at least 15 stays to this hotel so far at this property. AS always, there is a reason why I keep coming back to this hotel. First, The Staff, second, the views and surroundings... I had a nice welcome from the new General Manager Ed. Very nice personality and very friendly. Also the new Director Francois was very welcoming. They finally got rid of the stinky flower pot at the entrance witch is good news to me! I was expecting to get a little better on the type of accommodation but hey, c... Read more

The walls are thin. I could hear entire conversations of the people beside me. I even heard the woman sneeze in the night. They still charge for local calls. Complimentary bottled water is not provided.

We just returned from a week's stay at the Fairmont Southhampton. When it comes to service and ensuring a guest's expectations are met - they have it right. We had a wonderful time. Pros: - Beach Club is great. Great access to Horseshoe Bay. - Service/food is great. They will make any changes they can to accommodate each person. - We were overwhelmed by how happy and friendly every person was, especially at the hotel. (Even the taxi drivers, etc. though). Each person truly felt like they wante... Read more

The rooms and the whole place are very nice, the views are spectacular but everything is extremely expensive. Shuttle drivers are not too friendly, don't you dare to ask them anything. Not all restaurants open the same days, ask in advanced.

we are very loyal fairmont members and this stay just proves why! our extended family of 8 enjoyed the hotel over the thanksgiving holiday and had a truly amazing stay. even though the hotel was crowded, we really felt like we received individual attention from the staff. my husband and i enjoyed the gold floor, and enjoyed the extra perks with that! talk about EXCEPTIONAL staff on that level, too. every moment, from beginning to end, made for a wonderful family vacation that we will talk abou... We went to celebrate my son's 18th birthday and what a great choice we made. The staff is second to none, the property is beautiful with many dining options. This is our 3rd stay at the property and many of the staff remember us and our preferences from past visits. I would highly recommend them based on our terrific experience.

Great room for fairly good price. Very peaceful and relaxing. Always good for a comfortable stay. Never Disappointed. The view was great overlooking the ocean on the south shore side. Can see the breakers and waves crashing up against them.
