Resort Details

Dating to 1885, the hotel embodies Bermuda`s history as a vacation destination-all chronicled on a wall with photographs and notes-and continues to serve as the island`s `Grande Dame` social center, located on 400 yards of harborfront. The hotel`s storied history includes service during World War II as the Allies` Atlantic intelligence center, housing 1,200 agents known as the Princess Spies.

The fitness center offers state of the art fitness equipment, and 2 saunas. The adjoining Inverurie Day Spa showcases such indulgences as the sun lover facial, an oxygenating treatment that uses handmade stone crop masques and licorice serum to tone and heal sun-damaged skin. The bed of roses facial melds hand-crushed petals from 2 dozen Bulgarian roses, rosehips and carrot vitamin treatments to exfoliate, treat and balance.

Entertainment & Activities

A lighted concrete path with teak deck chairs runs 400 yards along the harbor. From here, guests take a complimentary shuttle boat 25 minutes across the harbor to a companion resort, the Fairmont Southampton, where they enjoy access to a private beach; an 18-hole, par-3 executive golf course; a 30,000-square-foot health-and-beauty spa featuring a large indoor pool and spacious spa tubs on ocean-view sun-decks; and 9 restaurants, including 1 in a house dating from the mid-17th century.

The Fairmont Hamilton Princess brings the unique elegance of The Fairmont to a downtown location. There are 3 restaurants of which one is by Chef Marcus Samuelson. The bar is top notch and draws a crowd every night. The spa and fine shops are currently under construction but the rest of the hotel is wonderful. The rooms are spacious, the service with a smile is top notch. There's an awesome infinity pool with a beautiful deck. There's also a shuttle to the Princess Beach Club which is a priv... Read more

Great staff with a great in-town location. The two new restaurants (1609 and Marcus) are a nice addition. The new sleek contemporary Crown and Anchor lobby restaurant/bar area could be improved, it lacks personality. I miss the old lobby bar area, it was a perfect place for tea. Can't wait for the renovations to be finished.

Lovely club room, spacious and comfortable....and the "club" itself one of the best we've ever been to. Besutiful, elegant decor, delicious nibbles and afternoon tea. Breakfast selection daily just lovely. Staff a delight, every single one friendly and helpful and charming. A minor problem with out room was sorted out in minutes. I recently stayed at the Hamilton Princess Hotel. The room I had was a suite and had been recently renovated and was quite nice. The only issue with the hotel is the significant renovations currently underway. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We also had a few meals at the hotel restaurants and was very pleased with both the food and service.

We are regular travellers to Bermuda, but this was our first stay at this property........it won't be the last. The location is excellent and the people are warm, friendly and helpful. George, Lindsay, Michael and Raj in the gold lounge were absolutely brilliant and Donna on the concierge desk was particularly helpful. The property was undergoing some renovation (due to finish in July '16, but the reason I can't rate the property as "excellent") so we were unable to use all the facilities, but w... Read more

The hotel is under construction, but if you want attentive service, high quality food, beautiful view and atmosphere, there is no other option. I stayed here on business in May and Fairmont understands business clients and is consistent in their approach of outstanding service. And if they don't get it right, there is no excuses, they fix it. Will be back here again without a doubt. I suggest dining at the outdoor restaurant overlooking the harbor, bring a large group, you will enjoy it. S... Read more

My Family checked into this resort on May 27-we had 2 rooms, check-in was 3:00-one room was ready at 4:30-the other was ready at 6:30. No apologies-just a lack of service from the beginning. Andre the manager seemed very overwhelmed and would hide from individuals trying to check-in. One room was dirty-popcorn on bed, water bottles in trash can, fruit snacks on beds. I took pictures and submitted to the assistant manager but never responded to me. Service was very slow at all restaurants- 1... Read more

Came in for Newport Bèmuda race this place came recommended. It was a great call. Sometimes it's nice to be away from it all. In bermuda, being away is tough- car rentals don't exist, mopeds are dangerous and cabs get expensive fast. Being close to town allows you to explore. Plus, a market across the street helps, grab a bottle of rum and sit by the pool. A shuttle to the beach gets you to the old Sonesta hotel beach and the good is great. We visited back in May; part business trip, part vacation. I think this property rests on its history too much. The amenities and service did not match the 5-star rating. The not so good: 1) We were not impressed with check in. We had a welcome reception scheduled for 7:30 pm our first night. The Fairmont Princess is an average hotel. It is a pretty property and the location can't be beat. Our room number was 148. Just to get to our room involved a few doors that are locked - at one point during our vacation, I was locked within a small corridor until a bellboy came by. No one told me I had to wave my hand in front of a sensor to open the door. The corridor to our room smelled musty and upon opening the door to our room, we were met by a jolt of similar musty smelling odors. The air ... Read more

I didn't get caught in any hallways (or small corridors) because since 1980 everyone knows to swipe your card. It's safe, I like that - not just anyone can get into your building. We honeymooned at this hotel 36 years ago and had not returned. This stay surpassed our most generous imaginings. The staff and facilities were first rate. Everyone was pleasant and accommodating, what one always hopes on a vacation, but sometimes doesn't happen. The hotel has been magnificently renovated and has a first-class restaurant, Marcus. We enjoyed walking to shops, the harbor, restaurants, all walking distance. One week after Hurricane Nicole, the island looked pristine and perfect. Br... Read more

I have to confess that before i traveled i was very confused by the different opinions that people on trip advisor had of this hotel and particular the room types. The main thing to remember is that all the areas bar the Bermudiana Wing has now been renovated. We arrived late in the evening and just before Hurricane Nicole hit the island which made everything very quite. The hotel is large but we like that as it allows us privacy. The room we had was a garden view standard room in the poinci... Read more

Very, very big smart , sprawling and recently renovated top scale hotel in the middle of Hamilton . It's about to host the Americas cup so the money has rolled in. If you've stayed in a mid to upper American chain, then you will know what to expect and will not be disappointed. It is very expensive and I was expecting perhaps a little more exclusivity, charm and regality than what was on offer for the price. The bar prices were astronomical if you were brave enough to order top shelf spirits . L... Read more

We had an excellent experience at the Bermuda Fairmont Beach Club. Great location, first class hotel and everyone was so friendly. We loved Bermuda and loved our hotel. The concierge was very helpful guiding us on things to do, making reservations for dinners, giving directions, etc. Would definitely stay again. First Class!

Beautiful spot, outstanding service and impeccable facilities! We celebrated our 25rh anniversary with friends and it was a perfect weekend. Cannot wait to go back! Their private beach was breathtaking and relaxing.

The Hamilton Princess is NOT run like the Southampton Hotel that is under management of Fairmont; this is evident from the time you arrive until the time you leave. Although the Hamilton Princess is certainly closer to the stores and businesses, it is not worth staying there when compared to the lack of services and attention shown by the staff.

Excellent facility - great room, comfortable bed and good shower. Dining experience was good. Entertainment provided by the Big Chill was memorable. Exhale is an excellent spa facility and the staff in the hotel were friendly and attentive.

I've stayed at the Princess several times a year for a while. Loved it. But lately not so much. Overcharging for services that needed rectifying. The latest wrinkle when I emailed the hotel for a reservation as I had before and was told the lowest price room available was $700+ per night. That was twice former charges. Out of curiosity, I looked at Booking.com for the date and reserved a room for $400+ per night. (The + is all the taxes and fees yet add on.) the final price I paid was still abou... Read more

This classic island hotel is located on the edge of the downtown area of Hamilton and also right on the water. Great views and easy to get to from Hamilton. Still a 30+ minute ride on twisty roads to get to the airport but that's Bermuda. They have done substantial remodeling over the last couple of years and the public areas and at least some of the rooms (I haven't been in all of them) are now up to a high standard. Of course the prices are absurd but this is Bermuda and everything here seem... Read more

I stayed here because I'm a President's Club member and it was convenient to all of my meetings. However, it's clear they have no desire to cater to business travelers save the WiFi, which was excellent for a large property. My room was a 7 minute (maze) walk just to get to the lobby. There is no convenience store in which to buy sundries. And my room service breakfast was 25 minutes late before I had to cancel it because I was going to be late for my first meeting. Guest services didn't seem... Read more

Most friendly staff I have ever encountered. Beautiful property close enough to walk to great shopping and restaurants( Portofinos, The Lobster Pot, Devils Isle). Weather, even now, was in the 70's and swimming was wonderful. One major drawback was the Beach Club. What is NOT ADVERTISED is that the full beach club experience is not offered. It is apparently seasonal. Therefore; you can get a free taxi to the beach club, and there is an attendant there to help out, towels, kayaks and paddleboard... Read more

I'm sure it's also great during peak, but for a November, this place was perfect. Comfortable, great service, good restaurants with terrific bartenders, the whole thing! And the gym and adults only pool are just right. I mean beautiful and just right. I miss it already.

Expensive but worth it. Very nice hotel. Had a decent spa that my wife enjoyed. My favorite part was the infinity pool looking out over the harbor and the ocean. Great place to sunbathe and especially watch the sunset from. Marcus restaurant on site is also very good. Rooms were very comfortable and very clean. Hotel also provided free shuttle bus over to a private beach with free chairs and umbrellas which was awesome.

Been travelling to Bermuda for almost 30 years. Absolutely love everything about the Island and the people. Have been staying at the Hamilton Princess for the last 16 years. It must be added to everyone's bucket list! The Princess has undergone major renovations and is one of the most exquisite properties on the Island. It is a beautiful harbor front property.

This was the third time i have stayed at this hotel. This was the first time I came to Bermuda ahead of a business trip and got some free time (so more time to enjoy the hotel as well!) The hotel is really lovely and a great location. everyone is really friendly and the pools outside are amazing. The restaurant was expensive, but good food. Overtime i have stayed here they always put me in the Bermudiana wing; which is basically the furtherest wing from civilisation which is annoying. So request... Read more

Ohhh Amezing!!!! I run away from Boston on winter!! Hamilton Princess & Beach Club offers scuba-diving lessons, rents Jet Skis and kayaks, and arranges scuba diving, snorkeling, and parasailing excursions. Guests have direct access to a private beach, and a shuttle to and from is complimentary.
