"IIt was a very good experience for us. We love the room - ocean view. The housekeeping cleans our room very well and some of staff are friendly and helpful - the front desk and the bell person. BUT the concierge part is a different story. We paid for a round-trip fare for pick-up and then the lady at the Bermuda Transportation Management told us they will be there on MOnday to pick us up. When we call to confirm and ask the help of the concierge - they can't help us because they said they don't know such company and they give a wrong company which is Bermuda Triangle - a totally different company from the one we booked! The concierge can't even help us and is not very helpful at all. I am sure there's no 10K companies that start with Bermuda and has transportation name on it so she could have been more resourceful and at the same time they deal with transportation companies all the time. Other than the concierge people - the rest of the staff that we encountered were helpful, from the Windows on the Sound resto, The Newport, and the Wickets.
We rented a moped and it was good experience just be very careful and follow the rules. We went around some places but didn't have much time to go to all the places so we are definitely going back. Maybe we will try a different hotel next time.

We also had a massage at the La Serena ( The Reefs) and it was a good experience, though it's a different spa than the one at the Fairmont Hotel. Wish we have more time to stay and enjoy the view at The Reefs but we are hungry already and need to go to the delish bfast buffet at the Windows on the Sound."

"We just got back from a week in Bermuda. The island was beautiful. It is impeccably maintained everywhere, not just at the hotel.

The room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself was very nice, clean and the staff very friendly. I did find it a bit overpriced for what you received. I have stayed at higher quality resorts for half the price, so I had expected a bit more.

I was very disappointed that nothing was very walkable from the hotel. You had to take a shuttle just to get to the beach. Since it's proximity to everything else was limited you had to take a taxi or bus everywhere which was expensive and inconvenient.

The restaurants at the hotel had anywhere from average to high quality of food. I did find that even at the lower end eateries the food was very expensive. They should offer more affordable options especially if you just want to grab a light meal. The service at every restaurant was sub par. The wait staff was not efficient at all. They were not good at managing their tables and we found that 90% of the time we had to flag people down to order, request more water, get our bill, etc. They add a 17% charge to all tabs so there was no incentive to provide exceptional service since they are guaranteed a tip. It was very disappointing,

We found there was a lack of communication at the hotel as well. We signed up and paid for several activities that got cancelled and we were not notified. In one situation we took the ferry over to Hamilton for a festival and they cancelled the ferry that would return us to the hotel without notification. This left us stranded in Hamilton after the buses had stopped running forcing us to find a taxi late at night which ended up costing us quite a bit of money. On another occasion we had reserved a sunset cruise which got cancelled and we never got notified. We then had to battle for 2 days to get a refund on a tour that was cancelled by the hotel.

Having now been on the island, I would probably chose a different hotel. Their sister property in Hamilton would probably be better. Since it is right in the capital there are lots of options outside of the hotel for food. You can walk to more activities, the ferry, restaurants, etc.

I might also consider a hotel with closer proximity to a beach or that had more activities."

"I have nothing but good things to say about our stay. It is in a great location near the beach with beautiful views of the harbor and the ocean. The lighthouse nearby is really interesting and has spectacular views of the entire island. There are good running trails that are easily accessible and go though some beautiful areas. The hotel has several great restaurants and you can rent scooters and bicycles right on the property. They have a wonderful staff who are all very helpful and friendly. The concierges are fantastic. The private beach is gorgeous and they provide chairs with built in umbrellas and plenty of towels free of charge. The free ferry to their sister hotel is a convenient and pleasant ride. All in all I loved it and would go back there in a heartbeat. I wouldn't even think of staying anywhere else."

The beach was wonderful and we snorkeled there every day! It was so easy to walk over to Horseshoe Bay. The Fairmont Southampton is in an ideal location for those who love the beach! We ate a lot of our meals at the beach cabana. The trolley ride to the beach was so nice! We never had to wait more than a minute or two for a trolley! The Fairmont Southamptom exceeded our expectations!"

"Kids spring break, wanted a short trip to get away. Been to Bermuda before kids. Loved it. It is very family friendly. Wonderful and helpful staff. Out of this world beautiful private beach, Indoor & outdoor pools. Just that spring is still a little cold (especially ocean water), Bermuda is still operating in Winter schedule (everything closes before 6pm, expect restaurants) and hotel is located a bit far from everything."

"Overall we were very satisfied with our stay at the Fairmont southhampton.
Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean, but we were overlooking a roof top of the hotel which had a air conditioner blowing constantly which prevented us from staying on the balcony for any length of time. It was a bit noisy. I did ask to be moved but the hotel manager advised me that there were no other rooms available,even if I paid to upgrade."
