My husband and I stayed in a treetop suite for two nights in May 2016. The suite is beautifully decorated, the bed is comfortable, the living area is huge, and the deck has an excellent view of the river. It isn't very private as there was another suite right next door and both are down one small hill from the rest of the lodge. The grounds of the lodge are perfectly maintained and well lighted at night. There is a separate bar and dining room; both have excellent service and reasonable hour... Read more

Staying at Chaa Creek was an experience I'll cherish forever. This was my first time in Belize and travelling alone. Initially feeling a bit timid, I'm now home and already dreaming about returning. Stepping out of the airport to a chorus of grackles and melodious blackbirds, Ricky was soon there to shuttle me and a sweet couple from the UK to the lodge. The whole ride he answered our questions about Belize. He made some stops along the way for us to photograph wildlife. We took snack stops t... Read more

We stayed 4 nights at the river camp. We chose to drive ourselves to save money. The roads were easy to navigate and we were able to schedule our own excursions for a much lower cost since we had our own transportation. We arrived at the reception area to be greeted by cold washcloths and juice. The excitement didn't last long when we realized it was 102 degrees and we had no air-conditioning or fans at the campground. Sleeping in the tents was stifling! We visited at the start of the rainy season (June 2016) and very much enjoyed the grounds and staff. The place is gorgeous - with birds and monkeys and a great pool. Chaa Creek was the first jungle lodge at which I stayed in Belize, back in January 1991. At that time, Chaa Creek was already well established as one of the finest lodges in Belize, but it was much different than today. Mick and Lucy Fleming had opened the lodge in 1981, charging just BZ$8 for space for travelers to hang a hammock. Ten years later, in 1991, when I first visited, the lodge was still off the grid, and the rooms and public spaces were lit by kerosene lamps. I believe that all of th... Read more

From the moment I was greeted at the airport until they dropped me off at the airport 3 days later I was in heaven. The Lodge at Chaa Creek could not have been a more perfect experience. The resort is not only gorgeous, serene and impeccably decorated it is filled with amazing, attentive staff who make you feel at home immediately. Their kindness, love of their jobs, and love of their country were evident throughout my stay. As a vegetarian it can be difficult to travel to remote places but the ... Read more

We are a family that always goes to a new place on vacation. This is the first time we went back to the same place that's because we loved it so much that even after a three-year hiatus we create coming back. This is a truly wonderful place. You go here to experience nature and to relax. They don't have air conditioning but it's comfortable with the fans. Somehow, you don't have a problem with insects here. The food is wonderful, the staff is pleasant and you could tell that they are happy work... Read more

We love every minute at Chaa creek. Amazing food and attentive service. They even made us a packed lunch to take on our Characol tour. The infinity pool was so relaxing after a day exploring in the jungle. Would come back if we were ever in Belize again.

We stayed at Chaa Creek for 5 days in April 2016, specifically at the Macal River Camp. We did swim at the resort pool and drank cocktails and ate food at the resort. We did not stay in a resort room, however. Food was excellent and fairly priced. Cocktails also excellent. Pool excellent, including pool service. Path to/from the camp is dark at night, but no problem with a flashlight/headlamp. Short walk - not a deterrent, at all. Plus it is a walk on a cliffside through the jungle, so it ... Read more

Our group stayed at Chaa Creek to enjoy the experience that Chaa Creek is so famous for. The rooms, the food, the hikes, the trails, the canoes, the birdwatching were all so well done. Hats off to Chaa Creek for their extreme attention to details that so many other resorts miss. Well done!

This property and its staff were absolutely top notch! This was my first time traveling to Belize inland and definitely plan on coming back. The rooms, food, staff and amenities were lovely! We loved the small touches of love throughout the resort. I've been raving to everyone since I returned.

We stayed here for 6 days for work. I've traveled many times for work, and never liked a single one of those trips... until this one. Their staff is absolutely the most genuine group I've met. They have a pace that's perfectly suited to making a hard day at work seem like a thing of the past.

My husband and I were looking for a good balance between relaxing and adventurous (specifically hiking) for our honeymoon. We found it! Chaa Creek provided us the opportunity to spend hours in bed or on the porch listening to the wildlife; we also took trips to zip line through the jungle and to the Caracol ruins. The staff was more than accommodating - they were friendly and made our time even on the road enjoyable! The food was heavenly and the grounds were peaceful during this off season. Th... Read more

This was our second visit to Chaa Creek. What a wonderful place to stay, eat, drink, and relax; super friendly staff and very personalized service. And we still have activities on our "to do" checklist there, so we'll be back.

This is one of the most comfortable places to stay in the Cayo. We were out of the main season and so it was quite quiet (lovely for us), but I am sure in the main season the ambiance, food and service is just as good.

Docio and his family made our experience unforgettable. They were our hosts and showed us to our casita, fed us the best meals (because his wife cooked authentic belezian meals) and helped us plan our excursions around the area. We would highly recommend staying at the camp in chaa creek.

Stayed 5 nights in one of the treetop suites ( where Prince Harry stayed!) and it was fabulous! Very spacious, clean, good view of river. All of the staff were excellent, meals were amazing, dining( thanks Alice!) and bar service superb. The grounds are lovely and the Butterfly Farm and Medicinal Trail were quite interesting. Nothing like having dozens of blue morph butterflies flitting by and landing on you! Good hiking trails, canoeing to San Ignacio for the market and lunch was fun, day tr... Read more

Guests are treated like kings at this resort. If you want something, just ask for it. The level of service was above anything that I have experienced at any other resort. The food was excellent, and prepared with nice presentation. With only about 35 rooms, the staff learns your name and addresses you by name. Very personal service. The rooms are very large, and have a large bath as well. The landscaping is exotic jungle, and merits some time just to look at it. My only caveat is that t... Read more

The proprietors have created an oasis of beauty in the midst of a wild jungle. If only the Howler monkey's had slept in past 4:30am! It was exciting hearing the troop of Howler's even if they started our day earlier than expected.

It has the look. The staff was on point. We enjoyed the night hike, nature center, canoes, and of course the pool. Bloody Mary's were tasty. We stayed in the Spa Lodge which was great. The views are wonderful from the master deck. Food ranged from good to great. Lastly the location is good to hit many jungle highlights.

I will try and be concise and detailed in this review to make it worth your time. We had cottage 3. Ample space and very well designed. It was like a really smart person was hired to stay there a few nights and write down everything they'd possibly want. Then they did all of it. We never missed AC (large powerful overhead fan) and certainly not TV. Chaa Creek is so quiet. I don't count the critters. It's their jungle after all. Every night about 7:00, the cicadas start making a very clear ... Read more

The range of activities onsite as well as off site are executed well. The guides are knowledgeable and fun. As their slogan states "wildly civilized"
