Chaa Creek Lodge has a variety of accommodations. We stayed in the economical tent camp. The camp has wood framed tents that each have a porch with hammock, and kerosene lamps for light. The camp itself has a host and cook and breakfast and dinner are provided and eaten under an open pavilion. Tents have between two and four beds with linens and towels included. The camp is about a ten minute walk from the main lodge, but all the amenities that guests at the lodge have are available to thos... Read more

Came to Chaa Creek with a group of 13. We were picked up at the airport in Belize City and transfered to Chaa Creek by Miguel. He talked to us about Belize and wildlife all the way to Chaa Creek. It took about 2 hours, but he kept us well entertained with his stories. Upon arriving, we went to check in and was greeted with drinks and cool towels. From here, we were transported to the Macal River camp to meet Docio and his family. He gave us the run down on the camp as his wife cooked the our fir... Read more

The total experience was wonderful. The staff ensures that your stay will be the best possible experience. You have to remember where you are and that nature can not be completely controlled. We spent one night at the lodge and two nights at the river camp. Both were excellent. The Lodge restaurant service and food where amazing. Our guide for bird watching and Xunantunich was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to. The canoe trip to San Ignacio could not have been better. Weather will impact wha... Read more

Upon checking in and waiting for the camp manager to pick us up from the main lodge, we were introduced to quite a few employees at which I was a little confused but learned why at the end of our stay. Chaa Creek is not only a lodge but all of its staff are a family and they invite you in as if you are staying with their family. All of the employees are truly happy here and it shows upon seeing everyone. My family (husband and two boys - aged 6 and 1 1/2) were happily greeted by a fun truck... Read more

Every positive thing you've read about the camp and especially Dosio and his family are true. At Maccal River Camp you are not just treated to an authentic jungle experience but also a cultural experience. I loved getting to know all of the folks that work at Chaa Creek. Our cabin was a little slice of heaven (although my husband would have killed for a fan). My only advice would be to bring some rain gear as the last night it poured and I wished I had at least a poncho. No big whoop though sin... Read more

We booked three nights in the camp with a view to trying it out and upgrading to the lodge if necessary. We found it utterly magical. The sound of the birds, the howler monkeys, the jungle humming at night. You really can't imagine how amazing it is. The lodge itself has no air con (as it is an eco lodge) so in that respect it is the same as the camp. We ate at both places the food was the camp was far superior. Freshly cooked, delicious, simple Belizian food that was very tasty. If you are sta... Read more

I loved everything about this resort. The staff, the food, the rooms, the pool, the canoes, the wildlife, the help with booking different exertions everything was incredible. The staff does everything they can to accommodate you and ensure that you enjoy your stay. My boyfriend absolutely loved their tortillas and jokingly asked our waiter if he could buy a bunch. The next day the waiter had a bag full of freshly made tortillas waiting for him. I will definitely be going back to Chaa Creek whene... Read more

Stayed in the casitas and took advantage of everything else the lodge had to offer. Met wonderful people, totally taken care of. Flawless and very economical. Highly recommend. Casitas are managed by a Belizean family. 2 wonderful meals are included in the 65$ price. Arranged trip to Barton Creek cave, Chaa Creek provided a wonderful guide and we ended up having a private tour. Mayan ruins nearby. Dont miss the butterly farm on the property.

My whole family of ten persons from 7 years of age to 76 had a most wonderful Christmas Holiday at Chaa Creek. The impetus for our trip was to see Maya ruins. We did have four trips arranged by Chass Creek related to the Mayas. They were terrific. We also enjoyed the amenities such as the spa, the pool with its water jets and pool side service, the little museum and butterfly house, the imaginate decor mixing hand crafted items of furniture and folk art with bright fabrics from a number of ... We spent a night in a rustic (but screened and roofed) jungle casita, enjoying a home-cooked dinner and breakfast -- loved the fry jacks and beans -- and the hospitality of the Juarez family who manage the place. No electricity in the casitas, but there was a power strip at the dining hut for charging phones, and well-lit, clean toilet and shower areas. In the morning we woke up with the birds and hiked the medicine-plant trail before getting a complimentary ride back to our car. Bring flashli... Read more
