Our stay was amazing from beginning to end. All of the staff was so kind and helpful, especially Docio who manages the casitas. The breakfast and dinner provided was delicious, and they made sure you left full. The accommodations were nice and spacious. We enjoyed the casitas--as campers, we loved the outdoorsy feel, while also enjoying all the high-end amenities. I highly recommend going to the butterfly room and going to the bar by the lodge to try a delicious infused mixed drink. While there,... Read more

The entire property is gorgeous. What "midgeo" wrote is spot on. The lodge facilities are high end and well cared for and everything is perfect: the art on the walls, the quality of the construction, the pool is fabulous- it's eco friendly salt water and the towels are provided, as is a freshwater shower to rinse off. You can order drinks and poolside treats from the pool! The bar has inside and outside seating, both are comfy and wonderful. The drinks include their special herb infused ru... Read more

Chaa Creek is a special place. This was our first visit to the resort (we are a couple in our 50's). The facilities are beautiful. The staff are genuinely warm, friendly and interesting. The food is excellent; we go to resorts a few times a year and generally eat most of our meals elsewhere but chose to eat at Chaa Creek instead because the food is so good. The resort is in the rain forest, and visitors should know that. There are monkeys and birds around, the rooms have thatched roofs, it's f... Read more

We stayed 2 nights at the Macal River Camp, and loved it there. The two areas of the lodge could not be more different. When we arrived at the main entrance of the resort, we were a little awed by the manicured lawns, the pool, restaurant, the luxury resort atmosphere. Not our usual surroundings! We felt much more at home at the Camp. Docio and his family took excellent care of us. The meals were wonderful. Meal time became a chance to visit with the others staying at the Camp and get to know ea... Read more

Having had a dire experience of a similar sort of property elsewhere in the Americas, I wasn't really looking forward to this one, even in spite of some glowing reviews. This is because I always get bitten, dislike thatched accommodation (because of bits & bugs dropping from the roof) and find the damp bedding in jungle lodges really uncomfortable. HOWEVER, apart from a minor problem with the latter - our sheets were a bit damp - which resolved itself after we aired and slept in them, the overal... Read more

We had the most perfect honeymoon! The staff was great, the resort it self is absolutely gorgeous, tons to do in the property. The spa was a dream come true. We had a couples massage on a balcony overlooking the jungles with an amazing breeze!

Chaa creek is a truly magical place. My 10 year old daughter and I stayed at the naval river camp and had such a wonderful time. We slept very comfortably, and the food was phenomenal! We enjoyed the communal eating, as we got to meet many interesting people during our stay. The fact that we had access to the pool was super bonus. Don't miss the night hike, and definitely make a special effort to go to the ATM caves - it was an unforgettable adventure!

Beautiful lodges in a wonderful setting. We stayed in a thatched casita, lovely large, comfortable room with a good sized bathroom plus an additional outside shower. Nice bar area with daily Happy Hour and a lovely restaurant. Breakfast was good, offering fresh fruit with cooked options also available . Dinner was a four course meal, wine was very expensive compared to other restaurants. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool and surrounding seating area was good with a s... Read more
