We loved our stay here. My wife and I took the bus from Belize City to San Ignacio and caught a quick cab to the Maya. We did walk back and forth as well, without luggage. The rooms have everything you need. No clocks, tours and breakfast start early. The free drinking water is really convenient and even a money saver. The staff was amazing in every way. José, Damian & Elmer were a complete delight. Each building has a hammock, it is peaceful and blends with the way of life. We didn't spend muc... Read more

My biggest issue with this hotel: They do not serve ANY alcohol!! Something to do with the owners religion...With that being said, our group of friends made the most of it! We stayed in the large family room and it fit 6 of us comfortably. The price is VERY reasonable. Lodge grounds are beautiful--colorful and lush. They offer free homemade baked goods and tea every afternoon. So delicious!!! Food is pricey, we ate breakfast here but for dinner we went in town to San Ignacio. There is a ... Read more

We had a great 2 night stay at the small family owned Maya Mountain Lodge. The lodge is a little bit older, but well maintained. Rooms have A/C, Wi-Fi, private bathrooms with hot/cold water. We stayed in a 2-person cottage (MOT MOT) with a comfortable bed. The lodge is surrounded by tropical rain forest and is beautifully landscaped. My wife loved the fact that they had signs identifying each plant by name. The above ground pool is a welcome refreshment after a day of activities. The restaurant ... Read more

I enjoyed my stay here very much. The grounds are beautiful and everyone is very friendly. The food was delicious. Everything here was very laid back and they were accommodating towards us. We asked to put 2 of the half day tours into the same day, and they arranged it for us. The owner also suggested restaurants in town to visit, which was helpful in enjoying the town of San Ignacio.

We stayed five nights at Maya Mountain where we immediately were made to feel at home. We were met at the airport in Belize city by an awesome guide, Jeremy, who proceeded to make our hour and a half trip to Maya Mountain fly by with his knowledge of Belize and its culture. He answered all our questions and was engaging throughout the trip, pointing out interesting things along the way. Upon arriving at Maya Mountain he took us to check in and meet the staff at Maya Mountain. Mr. Bart has assem... Read more
