Villa Margarita far exceeded our expectations! My husband and I went for our 11 year anniversary and were greeted with a gorgeous welcome drink upon arrival and found champagne in our room on our actual anniversary. We were on the third floor and stayed the week of 4/23. The staff were so friendly and helpful! Don't miss out on Charlie at the pool bar...he makes an AMAZING Mojito! Meryann is super friendly and accommodating and was great about checking in with us to see how our stay was going. A... Read more

Villa Margarita was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were spotless and had everything you could ever imagine. We stayed on the first floor in the mermaid suite. It had a full kitchen which was great because we cooked most of the time. I definitely recommend going to town and buying groceries to cook or go to the local restaurants. This is only because the resort food can be pricey. I do recommend love on the rocks, which is right next door! Great food and experience (you cook your food on lava ro... Read more

This is the hardest review to write, no matter what I say I"m going to miss something. This is the type of place you want to go to and get away from it all. The staff from Marianne at the front desk to the workers on the beach make you feel so welcomed you feel like your a V.I.P. They are the most friendly and helpful anything they can do to make you happy if they can do it they do!!!!! The room my wife and I stayed in room 302 was out of this world, so big, so clean. My wife and I could not beli... Read more

Fantastic location. Very relaxing and laid back and yet food, accommodation's and customer service were excellent. Special thanks to Larry and to Ty for making us feel so welcome. The close proximity to beachfront restaurants are an added bonus. Cautionary note - the beach does attract tiny, almost invisible Sand Fleas at dusk/dawn. Bring insect repellant!

Love this place! They say it's the people that make the place. While the accommodations and the resort were amazing, the staff were incredible. I've stayed at many hotels and resorts which range from budget to over-the-top extravagant, but what always stands out for me is how well they treat you. Marianne took incredible care of us and it's obvious she loves what she does. She went out of her way to make things happen for us and didn't mind that we kept changing our plans. We extended our stay h... Read more

This was our third visit to the Jaguar Reef collection in 6 years. We are family of 5 with three teenagers now. Have stayed at Jaguar Reef, Almond Beach and now Villa Margarita. JR best for being close to the action. AB a little nicer than JR and VM luxury accommodations with room to spread out. VM located about 60 paces south of end of the spa and after another resort. So not contiguous to JR and AB. VM has its own pool and hot tub for the guests of VM. With 6 units in VM you could be sharing t... Read more

My husband & I did the jungle/beach package through Viva Belize and we stayed here for our beach stay. Our room on the 3rd floor was very nice, quiet, and comfortable. The views from the large balcony were stunning ! I loved just sitting out there and listening to the ocean waves rolling in. This resort is top notch and perfect for couples wanting to have more quiet, private time. It is a little more secluded (just 2 bldgs down) from Almond Beach but you have your own pool and it's much more re... Read more

Our family just returned from a 7 night vacation in Belize. We stayed in Villa Margarita the entire stay and had one of the best vacations ever. We had the entire 2nd floor of the villa which provided our family of 4 along with my parents plenty of room. The room was kept very clean and the pool and beach area immaculate. The staff was excellent - Larry found several coconuts for my kids and they loved having fresh coconut juice. The food was good at the resort, along with Love on Rocks nex... Read more

My wife and I chose Villa Margarita for our 20 year anniversary celebration. We had never been to Belize and were a little unsure what to expect. The staff was awesome -- absolutely everybody we encountered was friendly, helpful, and remembered your name. The property is beautiful and the room in Villa Margarita was fabulous. The on site restaurant had an excellent menu with a lot of variety and were always doing different specials every night. There are many good restaurants within walking... Read more

As a 20th anniversary trip for my wife and myself, we wanted to get away to somewhere different that still offered us the opportunities to have the fun that we wanted. Villa Margarita was perfect! My wife was skeptical as I showed her where I wanted to go and where I thought we should stay. Her words - "It can't really be that nice. You know those pictures aren't exactly what its like". I took the chance and now, well, she ate her words. Our room at Villa Margarita was exactly like it wa... Read more

We stayed four nights in Villa Margarita and after checking out all the other hotels nearby were very happy with our choice. Hopkins is a really laid back place where there isn't a lot of nightlife taking place, or shopping opportunities. This is what we were looking for, but one guest mentioned how they liked Placentia better because there was more to do. Do ride a bike or rent a golf cart to check out the village of Hopkins about a mile down the beach. There are a lot of local restaurants to c... Read more

My wife and I recently spent two weeks at the Villa Margarita. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and we were looking for something special. We found it!! From the time we checked in at the Jaguar Reef Lodge until the moment we had to, reluctantly, return our key, we felt like we were in good hands. Check-in process was great. A cool towel and a refreshing drink is a great way to start. We were shown the grounds---from Jaguar Reef Lodge to Almond Beach to Villa Margarita--- and were very ... Read more

We loved Villa Margarita. The accommodations were beautiful, the excursions well organized and lots of fun, but best of all were the people. The care and attention given by everyone was exceptional. Starting with the front desk, Jerilynn, the hospitality of guest services, Marianne and Maureen, Rico the bartender, the guides Poncho and Jonathon, the adventure desk, Stacey and Iliani, the housekeeper, Alberta, the spa ladies, Jodine, Jessie, Nancy and Sharelle, the beach guys, Charlie, Dennis... We cannot say enough amazing things about our experience at Villa Margarita and the Almond Beach Resort staff. This was our first trip to Belize and we are so happy with our decision to stay here. From the moment we arrived we felt incredibly welcome and the accommodations were beautiful. After just one day we knew all of the staff's names and they knew ours. We happened to be there during Hurricane Earl, which was also a first, but the staff did an amazing job keeping everyone calm and prepared... Read more

We stayed in a nice two room suite on the beach. The furnishings were beautiful, the view excellent and there are many amenities here. You have a private pool for just a few guests, a small coffee bar that opens at 6:30, a pool bar with happy hour from 2-4, beach toys to borrow, and an excellent Pawdleboard restaurant in the Jaguar Reef. We also stayed at one of their sister resorts The Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge which gives you a nice rainforest experience different from the beach, althoug... Read more

We visited Belize and stayed at Jaguar Reef/ Villa Margarita a few months ago, and had a fantastic experience. It really only became apparent to us how amazing this resort was after a recent visit to a supposedly luxury Caribbean resort that was far inferior to Villa Margarita! Pros: -small, intimate resort, with great staff who take the time to learn your name. We had an issue with our flights leaving Belize, and the staff was very helpful, letting us make long-distance calls from their office... Read more

We stayed at Villa Margarita and some of our family at Jaguar Reef. It was my first trip to a tropical location and my expectations were exceeded. From the moment you arrive and are seated in their grand lobby and handed a warm towel and beautifully crafted drink, you know you are in paradise. Andre checked us in and brought our sign in paperwork to us- no standing around a desk. He catered to us the entire time we were there. A real destination expert. I booked my "once in a lifetime" stay at Villa Margarita four months ago in anticipated excitement of what paradise was going to feel like. However, reality is much different than the preconceived fantasies I had built up in my mind. Even out of season much was very pleasing & relaxing. The food, the service, the spa and most especially, the "signature room". Who would need more than their own private pool, hot tub, palm trees and ocean view 800sqft suite? However, no one would have anticip... Read more

This place is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Went for a Birthday/Girls trip during the slow time of the season but we had an AMAZING time. The staff Mark,Darwin,Rico, Charlie, William, and Felipe.....???????????? I'm terrible at remembering names but these guys here from the front desk to the bar to the adventure desk were all so helpful. Literally everyone there was so attentive. They helped us find things to do throughout our stay. They didn't seem to mind "our party mode". The room was more than wh... Read more

The rooms were clean and comfortable and the view was amazing. I only gave it 3 stars because I would not stay here again. The staff was only somewhat helpful and a few were rude. Prices were very high for food and drinks. Hours were unclear and it was at times difficult to get answers to questions. It appears to be a management issue. The village and people of Hopkins are incredible though.
