Mystic River Resort takes pride in generating their own electricity without sacrificing the small luxuries life has to offer. They also collect and purify their own water, so it is safe to drink anywhere on the property. As part of the reforestation program, they have replanted many indigenous trees cut down during the logging years in Belize.

Mystic River Resort offers a variety of trails for the novice or the more experienced trekker, and their experienced guides will make sure you do not miss anything during their guided night walks.
Also, enjoy adventures such as:

I‚??m a little delayed in writing this review. There is nothing not to like about Mystic River Resort. Our hosts, Tom and Nadege Thomas were extremely gracious. Tom (Captain Tom in another life) was always quick with a story or tale of adventure, and Nadege ever attentive to our needs. There are several bungalows each with a fireplace and large bathroom with double vanity and walk-in shower. We stayed in #5, Cabbage Bark. The living area is very open and looks out to a private deck overlooking... Read more

We travelled to Belize over Christmas 2016 to spend a few days in the jungle and a few days on the beach. After a few "dark" days at a "not so good" jungle property, we stumbled upon the beautiful and elegant Mystic River Resort and alas, our last few days in the jungle were salvaged. Mystic River is a beautiful property with gorgeous views of the jungle and the Macal river. My husband and I had the good fortune to stay in one of their brand new beautiful rooms with an outdoor shower and dippin... Read more

Not a far drive from town, and yet worlds away! The room we stayed in was definitely built with serenity in mind and the view from the private terrace with the personal pool was spectacular. The service was excellent, I really liked the little personal touches like the cute baskets that snacks and drinks were served in and the fire place in the room. The food and views from the restaurant were equally great. And the Spa was a little zen oasis, overall just really lovely and peaceful.

We spent four nights at Mystic River Resort in late December 2016. The owners, Tom and Nadege, do a wonderful job with this special property. The hotel is only six miles from Santa Elena, but takes a solid 20-25 minutes to get into town on a combination of paved and bumpy roads. The hotel has 12 cabins with three more (I believe) under construction. We are a family of four and we stayed in Room #4. It had a king bed, twin bed and a queen bed for two adults and two teens. I did not think th... Read more

On a bluff high above the Macal River, there are great river views from the restaurant and each individual bungalow. It's a quiet place with pretty grounds, a small spa and a yoga platform right above the river. The owners are a sweet couple who live on the property and are very hands on. Meals are very good with daily dinner specials. We spent 3 nights, with two full day excursions, which included canoeing, tubing, zip lining and visiting a waterfall and Mayan sites. The staff were great, espec... Read more

My 6 grandchildren and I spent 4 nights at Mystic River. We loved being away from civilization yet so well cared for. The kids loved all the activities and Eber, our caving and ruins guide was awesome. Even downtime on the hammocks was enjoyable. The kids loved the freedom of exploring the property and finding little hidden spots to relax in. Nadege and Tom, our hosts, were very attentive and helpful. It's easy to see why they love living there. Wish we could too!

My sister and I recently traveled to Belize and couldn't be happier with our stay at Mystic River Resort. The resort is absolutely beautiful with so much attention to detail in everything from the samples of the most divine smelling homemade body scrubs in the rooms to the dry room where you can assure your soaking wet clothes and shoes from the adventures are returned completely dry to you the next day. The staff was so friendly, helpful and professional our entire stay. We did end up booking... Read more

The resort is a real paradise in the midst of a wild jungle by the river. When I arrived, till the moment I left, I enjoyed every single minute. I was treated as a quin at this resort. The level of service was above anything that I have experienced at any other resort. The food was excellent too. If you want to escape form the technologies and enjoy the nature this place is for you.

We just returned from three days in the jungle at Mystic River, and then four days at Ambergris Caye. Being a beach person, I was mainly looking forward to the latter portion of the trip, and had rather low expectations of being inland. But I was very pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable our jungle experience was. The Mystic River Resort is fantastic. We loved how well the grounds were designed; how the individual buildings are laid-out in a way that takes full advantage of river and jun... Read more

My husband and I just left the Mystic River Resort yesterday after a 3 night stay. It was a great experience for us but if you're not a nature lover you will likely hate it. You're very secluded from everything and there's not much to do on the resort other than hike, eat and drink. We rented a car so this didn't bother us at all. We made our own accommodations for excursions rather than go through the resort just to save a couple of dollars but if you don't have your own car you can certainly a... Read more
