This trip greatly surpassed any and all expectations. The inn grounds are immaculate, the rooms comfortable, the meals superlative, and the staff friendly, helpful, and just plain nice. The guides for excursions are vastly knowledgeable about EVERYTHING -the birds, plants, geology, Mayan culture, and more. This is not the place to just sit around, you would miss too much. We stayed to four days, but in that short time we did so many different and fun things. Can't wait to tell my friends about ... Read more

We stayed here in an Estate Suite. The staff and management were extremely helpful, attentive and courteous. The food was very good and the main lodge building was nice and comfortable. Our birding guide for 3 days was Edbin who was really wonderful. He was fantastic at spotting and identifying the birds. He has not been a bird guide for all that long but he is a natural and his enthusiasm and quest for learning are impressive. We took a day trip for birding to the Caracol archaeological si... My husband and I needed a get away that included tropical sun, unwinding and outdoor fun, and we certainly received that at Hidden Valley Inn. We decided that we wanted to skip the tourist excursions and just stay put for 10 days exploring the miles and miles of jungle hikes. Each day we did an interesting and sweat induced hike full of a variety of terrain that looked right out of a magazine. We then spent the rest of the day relaxing at the pool after each hike and threw in a couple of awe... Read more

About 20 miles down a 20 mph dirt road, you'll find this gem of a retreat. Road is well maintained, but you should have a high clearance vehicle. Here on a Monday and had the place to ourselves, talk about being spoiled! Had a very romantic dinner on the outside patio near the pool, beer was cold and the food cooked to our desires. Chef actually came to our room and asked us if we wanted anything off the menu. Wonderful well marked trails, great birding! Cooler up here than don below.w

Three weeks travelling in Guatemala and Belize and this was by far the highlight of the trip! Not only is the lodge lovely and clean but the attention to detail and service from all the staff is impeccable. The food was amazing from the dips at the bar, the complimentary afternoon tea to the four course meal in the evening - and we were vegetarian! To add to this the hiking trails and amazing waterfalls were breathtaking - there are not many places in the world where you will have this kind of c... Read more

This place is amazing. I cannot find fault in my stay. The food was delicious, the cabins and the surrounding was well maintained, the staff was perfect, and the drinks at the bar - fantastic. While the wifi was absolutely horrid and there was no AC, everything was great. At night, it feels cold which answers to the no air conditioning. The wifi? Who needs it when you're here? (Lol, I do but I survived and you can too) I definitely would stay here again if my funds and work allows it.

Our room was fabulous except NO air conditioning and it is HOT. Granted we were here June 2-5. So off season. Service was very good and people very accommodating. Our guide was great had him 2 days in a row. The roads here are all dirt so very bumpy. Unfortunately they did not give us directions and we drove from Belize. We got lost twice. The villages do not name them so you had no idea where we were. This was truly an adventure. You do need the food plan because no where else to go however t... Read more

Belize will be forever remembered because off this establishment. Tucked away in nature, it has an expanse of private territory to explore and hike. Just take a peek at all their trails. We were a bit on the sedentary side, but enjoyed the picturesque waterfalls (e.g. Butterfly Waterfalls). Private. We learned of all these natural remedies from the plants that abound on their property. "Red Lips", "Jungle Charmin", "Belize Tic tacs"...and the list goes on. My husband romantically idly rowe... Me and my wife visited HVI for our honeymoon in Jan 2015, as part of a trip round Mexico and Belize. This was one of the most unique and memorable stays we've ever experienced. The hotel is within a huge broadleaf jungle, which includes a number of waterfalls and a dozen trails. These trails include climbing, hiking, walking across streams, bridges, opportunities to have a swim in the water. Walkways and bridges have been made by the hotel to make it easier. It is fairly strenuous, altho... Read more

This hotel was beautifully secluded but the highlight of the stay for me were the tours Rudy guided. We went and saw ruins, swam in a waterfall and canoed in a cave. The rooms were comfortable and the food was great.

We found this gem by default, our booking elsewhere was cancelled due to hurricane Earl. With one day's notice and us in transit Hidden Valley were able to take us. They are totally self sufficient with a generator so they had power. We were greeted by the amazing Gladness and Chris with refreshments in hand. While the grounds had a bit of fallen trees the staff soon had everything tip top shape. The grounds are amazing, the pool inviting and the staff incredible. Rudy taught us so much about th...
