"My boyfriend and I arrived at White Sands Cove on Saturday after a week long adventure on the mainland - at Sleeping Giant Jungle Lodge and Jaguar Reef. After an amazing week at two fantastic resorts, we were excited to get to San Pedro and enjoy the last portion of our trip.

When we arrived to White Sands Cove, we were elated with the location and proximity to the water, but generally very disappointed by the accommodations and staff. Our unit was outdated and had a horrible musty smell (most likely from the food items left in the refrigerator from the previous guest). The toilet was also broken and never fully flushed after each use. I understand that the units are condos, so each unit may be different.

The part of White Sands I was most disappointed by was the service. Besides one person, I found the staff to be generally unfriendly and lazy. The customer service of the poolside bartender/waitress was laughable; she was contantly on her cell phone and acted completely bothered when we ever tried to order anything from her.

Our experience wasn't horrible; the location was fabulous and the grounds were beautiful. However, if you're looking for great customer service, or any customer service at all, I would suggest looking elsewhere."

"White Sands Cove is a modern, clean and comfortable boutique hotel with large bedrooms and full kitchens. Marlon the manager, Doris in the bar/restaurant, and the guys in the dive shop all took good care of us, and we fell in love with the resident dogs. We could book all excursions through the hotel. White Sands is located at a very convenient spot for strolling along the path that stretches the length of Ambergris along the waterfront. There are restaurants within walking distance, and the water taxi will stop at the hotel's pier to take you to town. If you want relax and be well taken care of, you would enjoy White Sands Cove."

"I agree with the above comments. The staff and the manager were the most professional and helpful I have experienced. The Rum Punch was fantastic time after time. Rooms were wonderful and thank goodness for the great air conditioniing. The staff were so much fun to follow us around. I also agree with the, I guess sand fleas, but that is part of the experience. I don't think we could have had a better experieince. We will be back and highly recommend WSC to anyone that wants a spectacular laid back time. We felt at home from the time we arrived. We had such a wonderful host. You asked and he was on top of it.."

"We were very very pleased with our experience. The hotel itself is very nice. Not too many people there (the hotel only has small capacity) and with a fantastic staff. We enjoyed the pool and the very chilled vibe throughout. We were a bit surprised to see just how expensive Belize (well, Ambergris Caye) is. But that is just the way it is there. We are animal lovers and enjoyed Chico and Chica (two sweet young dogs from a neighboring property) who hung out with us and just LOVED the air-conditioning and the treats we gave them. If you are an animal lover like us, consider taking some flea medicine with you. Not that there was a problem, but this is the sort of thing that can really enhance the lives of these animals. The gentleman who ran the place was very helpful and responsive. He set us up with a great one day trip to the Mayan ruins and a wonderful snorkeling trip. Just all around a very very good experience."

"We just got back from Ambergris Caye and White Sands Cove. Everything was fantastic, place was nice and accomodating, quiet private resort, intimate and we met the hardest working guy on the island!!! What a fantastic guy, super helpful, just an absolute pleasure! Resort was nice, dive shop on site was helpful with fishing trips and snorkel trips. We lost a couple days for activities due to Hurricane Ernesto but all and all couldn't be happier...will be back!"

"Recently my family and I took our first trip to Belize where we stayed four nights. When we arrived we were blown away about how much nicer the resort was in person than online. Customer service and a friendly staff started from the Tropic Air pick up point where our Taxi driver picked us up and took us on our bumpy voyage out of the main town of San Pedro to the North side of the Caye to White Sands Cove Resort. As we pulled up to the resort we were greeted by an island breeze as well as by the Property Manager who immediately welcomed us to the resort, loaded our bags in a wheel barrow, and directed us to the poolside bar area for our welcome rum punch while he set up our room for us. Our family includes a 6 month old infant who slept soundly each night in the pack and play crib (Maintenance) kindly set up in our room prior to our arrival. Throughout our stay we became friendly with multiple members of the White Sand Cove Resort staff. We found ourselves chatting with each of them on a daily basis and enjoyed their conversations, company, as well as service. From sharing stories to fishing with them on the dock they truly made our trip complete. Each and every one of the staff members went above and beyond to make our stay at the resort the most pleasant and memorable possible. An example of the quality of service shined on our last day in the country. My husband and I had purchased an expensive painting from a local artist one of which we had fallen in love with. . We were so proud of this painting, and we already mentally rearranged our living room back home in Florida to fit our new piece of art. Needless to say in all the action of leaving and making sure we got pictures with all of our new friends we somehow lost sight of Xaan (the name of the painting) and did not load her on to the Tropic Ferry we took back to Belize City. We did not realize this until we were unloading our bags from the boat in Belize City. Long story short one of the hotel staff found Xaan as he said 'waiting on the bench for the next ferry', rushed her into town and sent her on her to meet back up with us in Belize City. Once again the White Sands Cove Resort staff showed they are there to go above and beyond. We would HIGHLY recommend this resort for all those future travelers to Ambergris Caye and look forward to keeping in touch with the staff and hopefully returning to the resort in the near future."

"White Sands Cove was a fantastic place to stay on Ambergris Caye in Belize. The hotel is a short water taxi ride away from downtown San Pedro. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the staff and the accommodations.
Every time we encountered a staff member they were friendly and asked how our latest adventure had been, what we saw or did and if there was anything they could do for us.
The accommodations were great. A full kitchen, including all the plates, silverware and cooking items to make meals at White Sands on your own. There was a dining space and a couch in the kitchen area as well. The bedroom was well air conditioned and had TV as well. The rooms were cleaned very well everyday by the great staff.
The restaurant has some great food (wings included!) and a happy hour every afternoon. The staff was full of suggestions of things to do and places to go see. They were helpful in booking tours (we did the Manatee watching tour - AWESOME!) and a great resource for getting around.
The ability to rent kayaks and bikes (included with room) was a HUGE plus to staying at White Sands Cove. We were able to bike down the beach to various lunch places that were a short bike ride away. We were also able to kayak out to explore the reef as well.
Although White Sands is a little far from downtown San Pedro, the Coastal Xpress water taxi is a great way to go back and forth. $5US each way. My husband and I enjoyed being farther away from the very touristy downtown area and in a bit more secluded and chill area on the north end of the island.
We would definitely stay at White Sands again! Fantastic part of our vacation!"

"All the staff were friendly and hospitable. The resort is clean and quiet with a lot of the amenities you'll need in Belize. Our loft was very nice and included a fridge, a sink, a microwave, and ample storage space.

It's close to San Pedro but far enough away that you feel secluded (in a good way). We didn't bike there, but we could have. The water taxi stops there every two hours and it's a nice way to get into town. The bar and restaurant provide many options. There are numerous other resorts and restaurants/bars that are within 15 minutes walking distance so there are even more options.

Excursions/tours can be booked on your own if you're in town, but you can also go through the hotel. They'll arrange for pick up/drop-off at the dock so you don't have to worry about those legs of transportation. We didn't get to go snorkeling with the hotel due to our schedules not matching up, but we heard good things about the dive shop.

Overall, it was a great first trip to Belize and White Sands Cove had a lot to do with that."

"White sands cove was a wonderful place to stay. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The accommodations were clean and there was tv and cable in the rooms for rainy days. There were free bikes and kayaks to rent for the day. The bar was nice and the food was tasty! There was a happy hour from 1 to 5. The pool was nice and clean and there was a gorgeous peer for watching the sunrise! The only problem was the distance to town which was about 2 miles. We rode bikes along the beach during the day, but it was not safe at night."

"We recently returned from our trip to Belize. We enjoyed every moment that we were there. The grounds are extremely well kept, our condo on the beach was comfortable and charming. The entire staff was warm and friendly. The property manager greeted us when we arrived, and made sure our need was tended to. The staff at the on site dive shop customized snorkeling, diving and fishing trips for us. Yemen and his brother Junior are the best! We rode bikes to San Pedro every day o buy fresh fruit, and we kayaked to the reef from the resort dock. We highly recommend this place for your Belizean getaway! "
