We stayed in a room as a group of five. We found the en-suite shower to be powerful and clean. The rooms were also well looked after. The mattress was not too great because you could feel the metal springs on your back, but it wasn't horrendous. The hotel has a ventilation system which is eco-friendly whilst keeping the room warm in winter and cool in summer. However, we felt that the was not strong enough and we were was missing fresh air. I stayed at the Meininger for two nights. I booked a shared, six person all girl's room, so I stayed in the section of their hotel that is a hostel and despised my stay here. This is not the social experience the solo traveler is looking for! It was definitely very clean and safe, but before I booked I read a lot of reviews stating that Meininger is like a hotel and that is one of the main reasons I booked my stay there. It's not like a hotel, it is a hotel, and for a solo traveler like myself t... Read more

I stayed at Meininger Brussels as a solo female traveller for four nights at the end of May 2016. For the first two nights of my stay I shared a mixed four bedroom dorm, as a female dorm was not available for those two nights. All of the mattresses in this room (two single beds and one bunk bed) were soft and springy comfortable mattresses. I then changed to the 8 bed female only dorm and was disappointed to find that the bunk beds had harder, thinner foam mattress and only the two (already occ... Read more

- The hotel didn't locate at 'City Center' as its name, About 15 walk to the center. The nearest metro station is Comte de Flandre with 8 min walk. It's just 3 stops from Gare Centrale station. - I booked the private room and very impressed with it. The room is cozy with a double bed, sofa, workdesk + chair, shelf + clothes-hangers (worked as a closet). The price is very affordable (55 euro per night). - You may experience a long wait at the check-in because many guests come as a big group (s... Read more

I spent one night at Meninger hotel. The rooms are clean and the workers are very nice. There's free wifi all around the hotel which is very convenient. The bed was comfortable, the toilet and shower are privet to the people in the room and very clean. Arriving to the hostel from the airport is very easy and fast by train and subway. It is situated in a very central area and is a walking distance from the center. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because in my opinion paying around ?... Read more

We had a nice private roon on the 4th floor. The room was spacious and comfortable. Free wi-fi available and a bar open 24/7 with a good selection of beers. The down side of the hotel is its location. It's close to nothing. You'll need to use public transport or walk a lot.

We had a room for 4 people and the beds were comfy! We had good wifi, lockers, a hair dryer and towels provided for us. The hostel had a cool bar which didn't open very early but when it was open you could sit and chill out on the foosball table. It was in a handy location, a 15 minute tram ride from Bruss... The Meininger is an amazing hostel... In fact it feels more like a hotel than anything else. I stayed in a 6 person dorm and it was super comfortable even though the room was full. Each bed has a night light and a power point (handy if you get in late) and the shower, toilet and basin are all separate so you don't wait forever for the bathroom. Location was terrific being only a short walk from the Grand Place and some lovely cafes. I would highly recommend for anyone who is planning on vis... Read more

The staff was nice and helpful, and I really loved the decor both outside and inside. Everything looks very cozy and clean. Walk to the city center is short, approximately 10-15 minutes which is not bad at all. The area around the hostel was calm and I didn't encounter any unpleasant experiences with strangers. Stayed in the Meininger hotel for a total of 3 days and can't have a complaint about this place at all. I stayed in a 6 man dorm, the rooms had so much space and the bathrooms were very modern and clean. The staff at the reception and the bar area were very helpful and seemed like they really enjoyed working there which is great. The price of the hostel for the overall quality is superb, would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Brussels.

I stayed in a female-only dorm. I was initially a bit nervous about staying at this hotel due to its location in Molenbeek, but I felt safe and the hostel is within easy walking distance to the metro. The room and shower was clean, I think it was pretty good value for the price I paid. The room had lockers, however for some reason I could not get mine to lock properly (I think because of the size of my padlock), so this was somewhat inconvenient. Otherwise I was satisfied with my stay.

The en suite bathrooms on the 6 person dorms were a huge plus. Free luggage storage, individual lockers, & good wifi. The bar was nice but the breakfast was a bit expensive. Also, the city center and bus stations were a bit of a walk but definitely doable. Overall, it was very clean, the staff was helpful and I would stay again.

It's more a hostel than a hotel. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. The bar was super lively in the evening. Mostly college-age kids, so it's defintiley not a romantic getaway. I have not complaint about the room, but you cannot check in unitl 3 or 4 in the afternoon. My only large complained is the location. I did not feel comfortable walking around that area without my husband with me. Overall, it was okay and a great price.

We've arrived in this hotel as a part of Tomorrowland package via Global journey. From the start, it was awful. The check in was late and the staff were ill-prepared for this number of guests. In the room, we got 1 towel even though we took the room for 4. For some reason they follow something called 'passive building concept' and you are unable to open the window to vent the room. A well preserved hostel, not at the best location in Brussels, connected with the centre with the metro which is nearby (definately closer than the tram). You have to make the bed(sheets) on your own (which is very annoying if you arrive late at night) and the bathroom is inside the room which is quite comfy. Also plug available next to every bed.

Clean hotel, nice interior design, staff was very friendly and helpful. Really liked that the shower and the toilet were in separate rooms which came in very handy in a six person room. Didn't like that the AC in the room was not working properly and there was also no way to open the window; because of this the sleep was a bit uncomfortable. Small parking lot, but there were plenty of parking spots near the main road. We stayed for only one night.
