This small hotel was well located - across the street and you begin to walk into the historic town. About a ten min walk to the main square. The central train station is about 15 min walk as well. The room was clean and comfortable in terms of bedding and size. Our room did however have an odd configuration of the toilet being in a separate little room of its own and the bath and sink being in its own room. So when you used the toilet, you had to walk across the bedroom to part two of the b... Read more

My wife and I and 3 teens used Maraboe Hotel has a base to explore Bruges, Flanders and the Netherlands. Nearly perfect, with one exception, which I will get to. We reserved two rooms, both were very large and spacious and each room could sleep 3. The staff was magnificent, very friendly and helpful. For a few extra Euro's we could park our car in their attached garage. The hotel had a workout room and sauna in the basement, which my older kids enjoyed. The breakfast was typical European with... We used this little hotel as our base for visiting several cities in Belgium. It is a 15 minute walk from the train station and just across the street from the edge of the old town. The staff is excellent, friendly, helpful and everyone spoke English. Our room was in the back and very quiet. It was large, clean with a very big bathroom. Breakfast was a generous continental breakfast with lots of good coffee, fresh and dried fruit, boiled eggs, cheese, great bread etc. the only down side was th... Read more

We visited Bruges for a short break after our wedding and were very happy with it. The hotel is situated on the main road just outside the old part of the town and it is an easy 10 minute stroll into the heart of the old town. The railway station is 15-20 minutes walk away, depending how heavy your luggage is! Continental breakfast is included in the rate and is fantastic. Breads, cheeses, eggs, toast, cereals, pastries and cold meats are in plentiful supply. The hotel doesn't have a bar but the... Read more

The hotel is located near to the old town's center, a few minutes walk away from basically everything. The staff was nice, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed - although we didn't spend much time in the hotel. We had a room right next to the tunnel, we thought it would be noisy but thankfully it wasn't the case at all. We chose to have breakfast in the hotel, it was okay, but there were no omlettes which I was counting on! :) Maybe it was because we were not there in the main seas... Read more

Visited with friends, had reserved 3 rooms. Hotel was a 15 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk from town. Check in was quick. My room was up 2 flights of stairs, I always walked but there was a lift. Room was a great size, with a comfy bed. The bathroom was down a small set of stairs and was also a good size. It had a large corner bath with a shower over (although there was no shower curtain so care had to be taken when showering). The room was at the front of the hotel, fac... Read more

Conveniently located hotel with friendly hospitable staff, clean well appointed rooms and great facilities. My friends and I stayed here during May and must say the hotel exceeded expectations. On a budget and restricted to where we could stay due to traveling by bike. We arrived in the evening and were warmly welcomed before being shown to the rear of the hotel where there is a garage large enough for several vehicles and secure enough for us to be happy leaving our bicycles. I am told that b... Read more

right from arriving we were greeted by the owner we had booked parking at the hotel this is secure to the rear of the hotel it was nice to forget about driving after our journey from UK the rooms are modern and well furnished if there was one negative i would mention it would have been nice to have tea/coffee facilities in the room and i would have requested a room at the rear of the hotel as it can be a little noisy with the window open. it is very conveniently located to access all the tourist... The staff were welcoming and helpful at all times. The room was hot and although there was a portable air conditioning unit it was somewhat ineffective so a good sleep was rather difficult. Other than that it was great and breakfast was excellent.

We enjoyed our stay at Maraboe Hotel. It was a bit of a walk from the train station pulling suitcases after a red-eye, so I would recommend a taxi. Breakfast was very nice - cute restaurant off the lobby. The hotel staff helped us with finding things, getting transportation and making us feel welcome. We had a front room near the street, but it quieted right down and we never heard traffic noise. I would recommend this hotel for the price.

Once I booked this hotel, the hotel send me a email about the direction how to reach the hotel from station or from the main road. I reply the hotel to asked about the public transport because we brought some big luggages with us (the hotel can be reach by foot for about 15 min from the station). They recommend to take taxi and i'm glad we asked them. The taxi is cheap (around 7-8 euro for 3 of us) and more convenient than bus that cost 3 euro/person. The hotel is small and really nicely decorat... Read more

We booked this hotel for one night for a quick visit to Bruges and also booked a parking space. On check in (whilst my husband waited outside in the car partially blocking traffic) I had to wait 10 minutes for reception to check us in and give us directions to their inconveniently and precariously placed garage. We were given the key to our room and directed to the first floor. The room was OK, a little dated, especially the bedding, but clean and quiet. Breakfast was busy with the smallest ... Read more

It was a pleasure to have contacted Sandra. Us 6 Canadians were well treated and taken care off right down to calling a cab for all six to bring us to the barge dockings. The breakfast offering was complete. The room were fine and the beds were firm. Great for sleeping. The location of the hotel is very practical for touring the city. Don't hesitate booking here.

We stayed here in October 2016. Nice little B&B with small rooms. It does have a small elevator and has limited parking. There is a big parking lot nearby which is 10 euros a day. Close to walking distance to shopping, dining and all the attractions. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was good.

My friend David McGrath booked six of us into this hotel for an overnight stay at the end of October. I have read other reviews and can confirm the positive things said about the Maraboe. I was particularly impressed with the good service provided by friendly staff. Some people have mentioned the hard boiled eggs at breakfast. This was not my experience and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Perhaps the message is to go to the restaurant early in the morning. I agree with the criticism ab... Read more

If you're looking for an affordable, central location to stay in then this is perfect. A short walk from Bruges city centre. Rooms are small but comfortable with all the basics you'll need. Breakfast included was plentiful (perfect for a day of walking around bruges!). Hostess is excellent and speaks multiple languages really well, which made everything easy.
