The room was very spacious and decorated in a historic style, you feel like a king or a queen in there. We had booked the junior suite, I am not sure how spacious the other rooms are. I heard that there are also rooms without windows. Our room had big windows with a view on the garden. Staff is nice and helpful and the breakfast is amazing. The Hotel is situated in the city centre but still it is not noisy at all. Only thing that I dind't like so much was that I found the price a little bit too ... Read more

Hotel in a quiet location, but within easy walking distance of the main areas. Very grand decoration, and the room was lovely and spacious. Breakfast was amazing, with cooked and cold options to fill any hungry stomach! Staff were friendly and gave lots of useful information on check in. We were also given a discount card that covered some museums. Only downside, was noisy budgies and not being able to open a window in the bedroom. But overall the hotel was excellent value for money.

We've just spent the weekend in Bruges and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Jan Brito. Excellent location within walking distance of the town centre (though to be fair this isn't hard as Bruges is pretty small). We stayed in a 'standard' room which had plenty of space and a lovely comfy bed. There was a bit of noise (creaky floorboards and whatnot) but it's an old building, so that's to be expected. Bathroom was clean and nicely finished, and the breakfast was great - plenty of choice and very... Read more

I choose this hotel for a number of reasons with the primary ones being location and previous good reviews. However, the actual experience was more than I had expected. The location was perfect and allowed for breaks during the day from walking the streets and enjoying the many sights and attractions. The breakfast area was beautiful and the staff friendly and welcoming. We stayed in Room #1 which was magnicent with my only criticism being that the mattress not of the same quality and comfor... Stayed for 3 nights in appalling weather . When we arrived the fires were very welcoming . We had a standard room , a bit small with very restricted head height in places but nice nevertheless . Breakfast excellent . Young blonde lady on reception was so friendly and helpful . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and couldn't fault this hotel . Highly recommended .

We stayed here for 2 nights. The reception staff in particular were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was very good and all fresh. We really enjoyed our stay despite the weather! The hotel is a few minutes walk from the main square, car parking is in an underground car park also a few minutes walk away. I would only say that looking through the hotel brochure while we were there we realised that our rooms on the 2nd floor, in the more modern part of the hotel, weren't as quain... Read more

This charming little hotel is located within easy walking distance of most of the places you want to see in Bruges. Our room was on the second floor - small but very clean and comfortable. My only complaint was that they want you to leave the room key when you go out, but they are then stored on a board (labeled with the applicable room number) behind the front desk in clear view of anyone who walks in - and there is not always someone at the desk.

We stayed here for 4 nights in the duplex garden view room. This was comfortable enough. Due to steep narrow stairs we did not attempt to take our luggage upstairs to the bedroom. Our own choice but the small downstairs space with minimal furniture was then used for our luggage storage. The location of the hotel was handy to the old town and we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is currently undergoing some renovation work but in the two nights over the weekend we were not at all touched by it. The room was tucked away on the ground floor at the back of the garden / inner court, accessible through some French doors. It has almost a country estate touch to it. Lovely. This hotel is ideally located in the heart of Bruges. It really did not live up to all the advertising though as it's average at best. There is something lacking here in terms of character and the "deluxe" room we had seemed like a room that had been chopped in half. Very good breakfast though breakfast room staff were gruff and seemed more interested in noisily clearing dishes than looking after guests. Overall it was way overpriced for the experience.
