Writing this after a 2 week all inclusive stay sitting on a sun bed waiting for our transfer to the airport. In many ways this is a great place to stay but there are faults which detract. Good points.Thegrounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. My husband really enjoyed the gully walk. I was unable to do it because of ill health. The hotel is a nice intimate size and very quiet being adult only and most guests being more mature in years. This suited us for a peaceful get away(we are in our 5... Read more

Delightful hotel, great food, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is situated about 2 miles inland and surrounds a swimming pool and manicured gardens. Meals are freshly prepared and good quality. The hotel runs an hourly shuttle to its sister hotel at the Almond Beach Club where you can enjoy all the inclusive facilities (food drink etc) if you are on an all inclusive package. Personally I prefer the Sugar Cane Club to the Almond Beach club as it is quieter and smaller. For a couple travell... Read more

Please read the full report. This was our second visit to the Sugar Cane Club, we first visited in Jan 2016. We had a nice time but it was spoilt by us not realising about the A La Carte evenings dress code and did not have an adequate change of clothing. This was due to us booking by phone and Kuoni not informing us. The other bad point was the birds mess that was on the back of the dining chairs which was not cleaned off the whole week we were there. We loved the birds but not the mess. A coup... Read more

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights in November 2016 as a treat for my husband's 50th birthday the previous month. I always read reviews on Tripadvisor and other sites before choosing a hotel, and this hotel had had fairly consistently good reviews, plus good pricing, hence our choice. Pros: We thought the food and drink variety were really great. My husband is a vegetarian and was really quite well catered for. Having read recent reviews, it looks as though the food and beverage standar... Read more

Our second stay at Sugar Cane Club (six years apart) couldn't have been any better. The staff truly understand what customer service is about, the food offering is excellent and the overall presentation and 'feel' of the Hotel scores 10 out of 10. We stayed in Room 110 (Garden Room; ground floor, end of the block) which was an excellent room with a fabulous view into the Forest Gully. The hotel is located in beautifully manicured grounds (Rodney, the head gardener, and his team have created... Read more

We have just returned from nine nights at Sugar Cane, which we enjoyed in part. The site and gardens are lovely and the wild life amazing, even if the cockerels do call all night. The pool is never crowded and there are plenty of loungers and tables and chairs. We would not have booked if we ha d realised the towels would only be changed every other day and the bathroom was tired and we did not find the soaps and shampoo very good. We enjoyed the poolside evenings, but the meals in the restauran... Read more

Long review here as we loved this place a lot! I hope it's helpful to potential guests. Why we booked: We wanted somewhere adult only, that wasn't too big and offered a tranquil get away. We were put off by the big named resorts as we wanted a hotel that wasn't faceless and felt like you could be anywhere in the world. We wanted somewhere pretty and relaxing. Location: Sugar Cane is in land from Speightstown. It's about 10mins walk from the beach (downhill) and 3mins bus ride which they run... Read more

This pretty and small hotel is set in beautiful grounds. The gardens cannot be faulted and the gardeners should be very proud. We had a gulley view room, which was very spacious. The bathroom is a bit dated and the soaps, shampoos etc are not good...The balcony looks at the 'rainforest' and the start of the gulley.Walks with the gardener on the gulley walk are very informative. The only problem we had was the music coming from the Chattel restaurant from mid morning, unable to relax. The kitchen is ve... Read more

Just got back from Sugar Cane. We are regular visitors to the place and I have to say we really did notice a big change this time. We go there because there are no kids, the food and drink is of a good quality and the place is set in lush, tropical grounds. We were not happy with the food and drink this time. It is as if someone has come along and made changes and not for the better either. The wine was undrinkable on the first night and I did speak to the manager Tracia about it. After... Read more

What a lovely hotel! I had two days before getting on a cruise, and wanted to experience a bit of beautiful Barbados. This hotel is located in the North Western part of the Island, just up from the beach, and with incredible views. The buildings are charming, varied, and spread out, to give guests privacy and peace and quiet. One can be on the first, second or third floors, depending on which views one prefers, and if one likes stairs or not! All the rooms have a kitchenette, air conditioning, f... Read more
