My first impression was also that it's a mediocre hotel and my opinion didn't change. The people who work in this hotel though are very special and I also home in on Sharon on reception who is a wonderful and helpful person. Jamal and Earl behind the bar are also very pleasant. I was not a great lover of the food, I much preferred the food in the sister hotel, Mango Bay, at the other side of the island, which you can visit and spend the day at. I revert to my comment re 'mediocre' the beds are ... Read more

Lovely holiday in Barbados at the relaxing Island Inn Hotel. Rooms cleaned and towels changed everyday. Food was delicious with a choice of starters and main for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was buffet style with the normal choices of fruit, cereals, and fry up. You can request poached or omelette if you want a change from scrambled eggs. Reception ladies Sharon and Carol are always very helpful and bar staff eager to please, especially Jahmal...loved his shots and card tricks ???. The sister h... Read more

I would stay here again with out giving it a second thought. Its so intimate and friendly and the staff are so welcoming. The buildings are lovely old rum stores which have been sympathetically converted to accommodation. There are areas that could do with a little attention like the bath rooms and some small decor issues but over all its well presented. The food is mostly local Bajan dishes and its cooked nicely, but its no restaurant with huge menus. But we enjoyed every meal and they alway... Read more

This hotel is everything you could wish for and more. We arrived mid afternoon, and were greeted with a smile and drink, we were quickly checked in, two different rooms (there were three of us). We had room 10 which was by the courtyard, some people I guess would be hesitant to have this room, but we loved it, we were not bothered by any noise from the bar, restaurant or entertainment that was had. We could sit out on our patio bit, and be part of the scene if we wanted or just stay on our own... Read more

Third visit to this lovely small and friendly hotel. There had been a refurbishment since we went previously and it had been done very tastefully. We had a Juniour suite which was very spacious and a large bathroom with separate shower and also separate toilet. The staff were very efficient and friendly. Food choice was good too. Although the hotel isn't situated on the beach, one of the best beaches, Pebbles Beach is only a stone throw away. One of the highlights for me was watching the race h... Read more

Set in the historic garrison area of the island, the hotel fits in with its surroundings. Our stay at the Island inn hotel was very relaxing and enjoyable. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, the food was excellent. The staff went out of their way to ensure that we were well looked after and had everything we required. With its location close to Bridgetown it was perfectly located to take a gentle stroll to the centre to look around and visit the shops. I would suggest th... Read more

My new husband and I came here on the first week of our honeymoon. It's a lovely little boutique hotel with only 24 rooms I think. Having just paid for a wedding we could only afford the cheapest standard room. If we went again I'd much rather stay in a superior room. There was nothing really wrong with ours, I've just seen reviews of other rooms and they seem much nicer. Our room had a very small bathroom, but the shower itself was nice and big. The room had no drawers, only a wardrobe with 3 s... Read more

This was our first trip to Barbados although we have been to the Caribbean before. We felt that the hotel was very tired and in need of some decoration and a general tidy up. We found the reception area most unwelcoming - just a desk and a large plant. The outside of the hotel was unkempt . There were two lovely flower pots with rubbish and weeds in. We have to say all the staff were amazing, the food was excellent and the choice varied. The rooms were comfortable and clean although we did kill tw... Read more

I think I've said all I can about the Island Inn in previous posts but I did notice subtle changes. The food is far better than previous stays inasmuch that the choice was greater and suited my pallet. Quality was faultless as was quantity. I've never stayed at a hotel where the staff bend over backwards to accommodate, they do that here as quite simply 'they care'. Met some lovely people who were there for our first week, the Welsh, Romanians and the 'Dibbers' but the last 5 days was a bit down... Read more

Stayed at island inn and what a disappointment! The web site definitely needs up dating as the place is nothing like the photos. Room 10 was a big shock, the bathroom was well below acceptable standard, the shower leaked, one of the make shift bath panels was missing and bodged up, the bath was marked and dirty, the sink wasn't sealedlight fittings were not fitted properly, the air con was temperamental, the room was dark and oppressive and as for the mosquitos....... well no effort was made to ... We booked for 10 days August 2016 we researched via trip adviser all looked good but not the case!! As soon as we arrived we were showed to our room and requested an immediate room change the replacement room was a slight improvement but still very basic and dreary, the main issue was the bathroom standard, well below standard, the very next day we requested an hotel move,we were moved but not for another 5 days, the hotel manager did offer us other rooms but all very similar just larger,we were adv...
