After staying in the huge apartment at Santosha on the East Coast, Divi's apartment felt incredibly tiny. We've stayed here in the past, and the property has not improved much. Apartments were adequately stocked for the most part. When we asked for a couple of glasses or put in a maintenance request, the staff responded quickly. But you kind of get the idea that they've heard it all before and aren't particularly impressed with any sob story or complaining. Activities staff was mixed - eithe... Read more

Stayed at Divi Southwinds for a week at the end of December 2016 and it was a mixed experience. The grounds of the hotel are extremely well kept, there are 3 good swimming pools, the restaurant practically on the beach was good for lunch (we didn't try there for dinner) although they do need to find out how to make good coffee !!. The reception area is lovely and the staff were all friendly but the rooms do need some TLC. Room size is acceptable but the rooms are really in need of a good make-... Read more

I've been to Barbados alot of times and this is my worst experience. I've stayed at places like HILTON, ISLAND INN etc. This place is a hot mess. First of all it's NOT worth the amount of money they charge. No one showed us to our room. We had to find it on our own and carry all our bags. When we got to the room, there was garbage all over, no bed sheets, very dirty room. The security brought us a key for another room and she just turned her back and left. We had to find the other room on our o... Read more

I used to stay at Southwinds before it became this giant vacation hotel sprawling across a vast tract of land in St. Lawrence Gap, and I came to stay at Divi Southwinds with this pleasant memory from the past in the back of my mind. However, my stay was business-related, and the hotel property is now clearly dedicated to family vacationers, not business travellers. There is nothing efficient, speedy or business-like about the hotel at all. I was actually shocked at the discrepancy between my ... Read more

This is a nice hotel, which is in the process of renovating it's rooms. We were a party of 16 guests, and were able to see several different rooms - all apparently have a kitchen with granite counter tops and have full size fridge and stove - great for breakfast on the balcony, and they have wifi and central air. The rooms overlooking the beach are much larger but have not been renovated yet. There is a beautiful new restaurant right on the beach, nice menu, good prices, which has happy... Read more

Very comfortable clean room. Free wifi and central air. Walking distance to St Lawrence gap and good restaurants. Extensive cable channels. Hotel not right on beach, just a short walk away. Tennis courts and fitness room on premises.

The location was great and accomodations were suitable. I asked for late checkout and was denied (even though I offered to pay extra fees). Front desk didn't even seem the least bit apologetic The dealbreaker for me however was with the failed lock on my room door. Several attempts were made by myself and maintenance to get the door open at 1 AM Sunday morning to no avail. Finally I had to wait for some other guy to dismount the lock on the door for me to enter. This entire process took over an ... Read more

I loved being in St. Lawrence Gap. There isn't a better place to stay on the Island to have beaches, restaurants, locals and interesting tourist attractions. This hotel is pretty large but underwhelming. Its everything you need with no bells and whistles. The staff definitely is kind but works on island time. Rooms are alright but nothing luxurious. It was perfect for me and my daughter. The beach is nice - not crowded but really friendly. Native people are there but not begging or tryin... Read more

We just returned from 7 nights in one of the larger apartments (2BR). They call it a penthouse but that would be a huge over statement. The space is good- kitchen with bar stools for eating, a living area to hang out in and a half bath on first floor. Second floor has two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with two twins and a single bathroom. I found the bathroom very small- no counter space at all. With two BRs, you have multiple people sharing it by definition and there is no where fo... Read more
