My wife and I have recently returned from a wonderful 10 day holiday at The House. It's a lovely small hotel, but it's the staff that take it up to another level. (A special mention for Andrew, Wade, Teddy, Anthony, Shane and Ricardo) These guys can't do enough for you; and any member of staff will strive to help you with any queries you may have. They really are a credit to the hotel. As for the rooms we had a seaview room on the second floor.....273. It was a lovely spacious room. Very comfo... Read more

My wife and I have just returned from 10 nights at The House. When arriving it surprised me at how close to the road it was, I didn't get this impression from all the pictures - not that this was an issue as I never heard any road noise. You drive in along what appears to be a rickety bridge and are met at the entrance. We walked in and were ushered to the sofas and a rum punch swiftly appeared. The view was amazing looking out from the sofas to the beach and sea beyond. We were briefed on the ... Read more

I often tell people who have not visited any Caribbean island that Barbados has the friendliest people. Having just returned from my latest visit, I can now say that The House is the friendliest hotel I have visited...possibly, anywhere in the world. Every member of staff is open and willing to help, while doing so with a smile. If you want a different flavour of ice-cream - delivered by one of their beach ambassadors - you'll get it if it's available. If you want food that is not listed on the ... Read more

Year after year we return and each time we remark that there is no downward shift in standards and presentation; this year is no exception. The House by Elegant Hotels simply oozes class and comfort; from the wonderfully accommodating staff, through the excellent breakfasts to the standards maintained in the rooms and the all-round feeling of being privileged even spoiled to be here. The attention to detail remains exemplary and the willingness of each and every member of the staff to ensure the... Read more

We stayed at The House from 5/23-5/29/16 and had a great experience. The staff is very friendly, the food is excellent, and the service is great. We loved the snacks throughout the day and tea time. We travel often and are from the NYC area and this exceeded our expectations. It is a small boutique hotel and it was a pleasure to stay here versus the usual mega all inclusive hotels that we have been to recently. (Apologies in advance, this is a lengthy read.) If you scroll though the reviews for "The House" you'll see my name by a few of them. This is my "only destination" when I come to Barbados. My first foray down to the Island many moons ago I stayed at the much hyped Sandy Lane Hotel that is just down the road from The House. It was very nice, but crowded with families and kids. I mentioned that to some friends upon my return from that trip and a fellow avid traveler who knows my love for quiet sug... Read more

This was absolutely the best hotel stay I have had - it was the "home" that I could only envision in my dreams. From the reservation process to actual check in - amazing. It is not a typical hotel and so you do not belly up to a desk to check in . . . upon arrival your car is greeted at the entrance by a team and you are escorted to a lounge where you are given the best rum punch or drink of your choice. From there it is all uphill. The food, the staff, the atmosphere - you will want for nothin... Read more

All the staff are excellent - Christopher, Andrew, Wade, Agnes, Teddy, Ricardo, Richard and everyone else that we met were attentive, courteous, amusing and friendly. We had a different suite this time - just as lovely and comfortable as the last one. As last time we were so sad to leave but look forward to returning next year - hopefully in May.
