And I like the location too ... down in the Souq area. The off-site parking has always worked out for me too ... although the car park is generally full. They'll squeeze it in somehow. However, like me, this hotel has seen better days. They try to keep it reasonably clean, but you can't escape small visitors in the bathroom in an old property like this. (Keep the plugs inserted). It would have been nice to hop into a time machine and see what it was like 10 years ago - when Celebrity was still r... Read more

I stayed two nights in this hotel. At the reception they help me parking the car, which came out to be free parking. The hotel is extremely well located right in the center, along many busy streets and famous central market. The bedroom was nice, clean, spacious and comfortable. I didn't have any towel or toilette paper, so I had to go and ask in the reception. WIFI Internet was free and with strong signal. The view from my room was great since I got an upper floor.

Great price which was a fairly quick journey from the airport. Staff were friendly. Was given a room on the top floor on the corner with a nice evening view of the street activity below. The mini-bar was quite well stocked. It was possible to smoke in the room but i preferred to smoke on the balcony. I didn't get up in time for the breakfast. The water pressure on the top floor was weak in the showers but the bathroom was clean. Wifi worked well. Great Value hotel in a fairly expensive country. ... Read more

I booked this hotel last year but then had to cancel due to a change of plans. I cancelled well within the free cancellation period but they still charged me! Over the next 5 months they used every avoidance trick in the book. In the end Hotels.com refunded me as I booked through them. I'm sure if they hadn't been involved the hotel wouldn't of bothered to even liaise with me. Sometimes cheap can also be nasty!

The hotel's location is excellent; it is right in the middle of the city within close proximity to Manama souk. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was simple and delicious. For the price, it is a perfectly good option, with perhaps the only off-putting thing being the smell of smoke that hits you when you walk into the lobby. However, I appreciate that this is a cultural thing and just not what I'm used to. With the exception of that, my room was clean and well-presented. Unf... Read more

The hotel was old, and so was the air-conditioning. It functioned well enough to relieve the summer heat of Bahrain but it was still not cool at all. (probably got down to 29 C, even though I set it lower)

After 1,5 week of some serious backpacking in various countries with some really bad hotels (black water in the shower, fear of electrocution in the shower, no towels, no sheets, pillows that should be white under their cover but were actually greyish brown), this was a fine and clean hotel room to relax. Warm water, functioning AC, no power cuts and internet was working okay. We skipped breakfast, so I don't know if there was any. Hotel is in the city center, close to the souk and that historic... The staff was friendly and helpful. A half a dinar tip prompted the bell boy to bring clean pillow cases and fresh towels upon check in. (!) There was a hair dryer, but don't know if it worked. Also, the two most important things in the room didn't function properly: the AC and the safe. The AC cooled the room, but at the same time leaked, creating a huge puddle of water between the bed and the closet. The TV set seemed to have come from some 70's sci-fi movie set. The WiFi was spotty. Yes, the... Read more

As a solo traveler, the only perk of this hotel was the fact that it fit into my budget at 17 BD a day, which if you are budgeting you could probably find cheaper and I pray better. There are roaches/bugs in the room. You get one towel. The water stayed cold until 2-3 days prior before leaving Bahrain. Whenever I needed a taxi to a reasonable location, the hotel provided me with a "driver" which is not only illegal but charged way more than a meter taxi. So I spent nearly 100 BD on the drivers b...
