"After alot of negative comments about the staff at the Sheraton i have to say i was skeptical, however, I was pleasantly surprised by how accommodating everyone that works at the hotel was. The hotel is in desperate need of a facelift but if you are looking for 5 star you would be at the Atlantis. For a family traveling with teenagers, you can't go wrong with the Nassau Sheraton. We would definetely stay there again."

"ME AND MY FAMILY REALLY ENJOYED OURSELVES. (TOOK A DAY TRIP TO THE ATLANTIS AQUARIUM), BUT I AM GLAD OF THAT FACT. HOTEL WASN'T 5 STAR, BUT THEN AGAIN, I DID NOT WANT 5 STAR. IT HAD EVERYTHING WE WANTED. THE BEDS WERE COMFORTABLE AND ROOMS CLEAN. WE TOOK THE #10 BUS TO ARAWAK CAY TO EAT, AS WELL AS TO DOWNTOWN NASSAU. I WOULD GO BACK. IN MY MIND, I AM STILL THERE!!!!!!"

"We stayed 4days/3nights @ the Sheraton & it was great from start to end. 1st off we arrived @ the resort early @ bout 11:30 am & were pleasantly surprised to be able to ck in right away & hit the beach within minutes of our arrival, weather was great the whole time staff was very friendly, we took local transport buses to go downtown & to the fishfry each day and still had plenty of time to relax by the pool/beach for hours this was our 2nd time in Nassau 1st was on a cruise though & we didn't really get to enjoy the island as much, we also enjoyed the casino even won little money & the 22 lounge had a great live band playin each night, would def reccommend it & plan to go back as soon as we can afford it especially can't wait to ck out the new resort there building looks like it's gonna be great."

"First I was apprehensive at first because of all the negative reviews I read. After going there I was able to see exactly what everyone was talking about. There is construction going on but you really cannot tell all the rooms face the beach. It is not noisy and really quite controlled to the point it is not even noticeable. The hotel was as clean as any other place we have stayed. It is a old hotel and probably seen many facelifts it's time to move on and it looks like they are. It looks like when the new resort is finished they will tear down all the old hotels and rebuild. There are two towers associated with the hotel that are already comming down. Overall I liked the location and enjoyed my experience. Riding the bus was fun and cheap. Can't wait for them to finish all the upgrades. I will go back it was great."

"People and staff were very nice. Holet needed updating. Hall carpet filthy room not bad. Hotel food bland and ridiculously overpriced. Trip was nightmare took 12 hrs to get home due to cancelled flights. Luggage got soaking wet all the way through. Shuttle didn't, show up got stuffed into a jitney.

On the positive got around town on buses, taxis and ferry to Atlantis where I will stay next time. Fish fry is a 31 restaurant area that delivers . Excellent food. Downtown is fun. Plan to go back for 2014 new resort openings."

"This resort was perfect for the experience my husband and I wanted. We wanted a cheap and quick vacation (2 and a half hour flight from JFK) where we can sit on the beach and relax plus have a few local meals. This hotel is worth what we paid in a 'no frills' way but the important stuff like beach/pools/clean linins were good. Just don't expect to be served like a 5 star resort because that is not going to happen but if we wanted that we would be spending $500 a night at the Royal Tower in the Atlantis. This is perfect if you have a bunch of kids or a large group because you can do whatever you want without any pretentious attitudes. The worst thing about this place is the cost of food and drinks that are not even good. It was almost funny when they tell you the price. Good thing you can walk down the block and have an incredible meal for a fraction of the cost. Also there is a Starbucks in the hotel next door through the Casino which was on the money every morning. Do the snorkling and the dinner cruse...so much fun!"

"There is no doubt that this is an older property, however, all public rooms looked fine and our room (410) was clean and appeared to be recently updated. Sure, there were a few paint runs and things like that but it was clean and comfortable with a nice view. Buffet breakfast and lunches were what you'd expect. The beach was great with good snorkeling and even turtles to watch most days! Overall, the staff was wonderful. There isn't a lot to do once the sun sets. Wi-Fi worked fine. There are several great restaurants within a 15 min walk.

I'd come here again in an instant!"

"Fun for kids, beautiful beach, snorkeling off the beach, quiet.
This was a great place to stay. There were tons of fish just off shore for snorkeling, the beach was soft white sand (one of the best beaches on the island), the staff was friendly and helpful. The maid staff and front desk staff were especially helpful. The bar and restuarant staff were a little slow and unhelpful. The heated pool was really warm, which was good for the rainy day we experienced, still went swimming, even in the rain! There were lots of families and kids for my son to play with. They had a floating slide and trampoline that they moored just off-shore for the kids to play on (and some adults too). The hotel was quiet at night, so you could get a good sleep. During the day there is noise from next door, a Wyndham tower is being demolished. They had lots of activities at night like movies, karaoke, etc. We didn't go to the bar, but it looked like people were having fun there. The food was pretty expensive, and they add a 15% grratuity to everything. The food in the buffet was OK, but not great. Overall, I loved it and can't wait to go back!"

availability of items in rooms:
1) towels-had to call guest services as there was only 1 towel when we arrived
2) coffee supplies- had to ask almost daily for just enough for 2 people
3) would have been nice to have a frig to keep liquids cold"

"The hotel lobby is impressive at first glance, but as you look closer there were some leeks in the ceiling and the outside needed some repair work done to the walkways and around the pool. My A/C in my room did not work correctly so we called and they sent a tech up within a few minutes, he changed out the filter and it worked fine after that.
Now as for the hotel staff you they were excelent their service was top notch not a complaint.
The food at the hotel is a bit expensive. I stayed at this resort 11 years ago when it was owned by the Radison and it was a great exprience. I get the impression that the Sheraton just does not care about this property."

"Overall the hotel is a nice property with a good beach. We stayed from 4-30 to 5-5-12 Our room had an ocean view, the linens were nice, they had Starbucks coffee in room, and the pool area was expansive with one heated pool. The negatives were that the staff was on 'island time' and the overall service by the pool was poor. The entertainment by the pool was lacking: music was terrible and some days there was no entertainment at all. We went to Paradise Island and the pools at Atlantis all had DJ's and everyone was having a good time. You could only walk a few hundred yards on the beach before you ran into rocks or construction at the neighboring hotel. The location on Cable Beach was average. You could walk to a few restaurants but we pretty much had to take a bus everywhere which stops running at 7p.m. The property and the rooms were good but the friendliness of the staff left something to be desired. I think it is a reflection of 15% gratuity that is automatically added to everyone's bill no matter where you are on the island. No one there feels like they need to work hard for your tip."

"We stayed here for a business vacation and i could not have been more disappointed. While the pool area and beach are gorgeous, the hotel itself is boring and offers little to no night life, don't plan on staying up past 10. The staff is UN-personable and slow. It takes an hour just to get lunch and 15 min to get served at a bar. Unless you plan on off-campus activities, you will be bored. Would recommend only for families with children under 10."

"The hotel is located on a nice beach but unfortunately no one cleans it. Room floors are constantly used to place used dishes outside and staff doesnt feel responsible to take it away. Front desk is constantly understaffed - 2 employees for 600 rooms. Pool is ok but quite loud environment. Restaurants are quite expensive with medium quality - better to eat outside hotel. Hotel does not offer sufficient quantity of umbrellas. The ones they have are constantly reserved or used by guests. Unfortunately, hotel guests are aslo allowed to use sun chairs. Rooms are quite noisy. All in all, I would not recommend the which has seen its best days already. "

The servers do get the tip so why should they give you a good service. I do recomend the Hotel but not the restaurants."

"This is a very nice hotel-- much better than the Wyndam which is next door (Wyndam seemed a bit dingy and outdated). The beach was fantastic at the Sheraton, and it was just steps away from our poolside, first-floor room. The food at the hotel was also a hightlight! We had wonderful buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and we're pretty picky eaters. We also enjoyed AMICI, the Italian restaurant on the resort. We suggest getting a pool-side room because they have little private patios! Now for the part where they can improve: Check-in on the day of our arrival was a nightmare! We waited an hour in line only to be told to 'come back later for the key' because the room wasn't ready yet. People were waiting so long for their rooms that they were literally sitting on the floor in line! No apologies were made by the staff for this inexcusable delay. Also one of the conceierges was sort of apathetic and rude when we asked her to suggest a dining experience at Atlantis around 5pm on a weekday. 'Everything's booked there with reservations. Don't bother,' she said. (NOT the answer we would expect from a concierge.) We went to Antlantis in spite of her cold answer and we had a wonderful dinner and evening. We later realized that the concierge simply didn't want to help us. (And we're the sort of hotel guests that are always gracious and never pushy!)"

"What a rip off! First I was told my King size bed was not available but there was a nice ocean view for me. Newsflash, all hotel rooms have an ocean view, so to be given a view of the Wyndham being demolished next door was a huge disappointment, and I was extremely annoyed that I was told I had a nice ocean view in light of my King size not being available. When I complained, I was given a king size room... interesting. There is construction on next door which will continue through 2014, the Sheraton was powerwashing their drained pool at 8 AM, which is truly disrespectful of hotel guests, & the food is atrocious! It's barely edible & you pay an arm and a leg. If I'm going to pay $20 for a small personal pan pizza, I actually expect it to be good. I would NOT recommend this facility!"

"Traveled 4/29-5/5/12. Overall it was a good trip, when we arrived it was pouring rain but the remainder of the week was sunny 85 Degrees. With everything being imported to the Island you can expect to pay extremely high prices for everything. Hotel was very clean, amazing view from our room over the pool and beach. Room's were very nice, cleaned daily and had very nice linens. Food in the hotel resturants was average compared to the price. We decided to not do the 'all inclusive' option and were very glad we made that choice based on the following reasons: 1. Hotel staff were all very rude and bothered by any and all requests. Everyone speaks very quietly and never seem to smile. 2. Zero entertainment at the pool during the day or at night. They always played music very loud at 7am when the staff was cleaning the pool but turned it off quickly once complete. We asked on multiple occasions for them to play some american music or any music and they said we had to talk to the activity director??? Beach is amazing, had plenty of chairs to use but the sand needed to be cleaned very badly. Would see staff on the beach with rakes every morning but nobody actually 'raking'. Would rate the trip 6 out of 10."

"My husband and I stayedfrom 4/16-4/19. Overall the experience was ok. When we checked in, I had reserved and paid extra for a king size bed, ocean view. The first room we were given was on the first floor, last room on the wing and quitet a walk. The room was outdated and not clean. The carpet was bubbled in the middle. After much disucssion with the front desk, we were moved to the other wing, 7th floor. The room was not ready and we had to wait for it to be cleaned. The room was much better than the first, but it had 2 full size beds. This was all that was available. The beach was ok, but not very clean and limited shading. The umbreallas and huts are far and few. The heated pool was loud and crowed. The week we were there, there was a company function and everything was very busy. The morning buffett was ok. When food trays ran out, it took the staff longer than expected to refill. The staff was NOT friendely and quiet frankly seemed annoyed when we asked for a table outiside and coffee/juice. We could not get a reservation all week for Amici restarurant until after 9PM. We choose to eat out and we did find some excellent restaurants, reasonablly priced compared to the hotel. Cabs are also very expensive. $20 each way to town. Overall, our experience was ok, but I'm not too sure i would recommend this as a great hotel experience."
